  1. I found the cheapest Kraft labels at www.data-labels.com
  2. I'm confused. How can you add the F/O at 165 or even 175 and still pour at 170? When I add my F/O at 175 , stir, the temp is already down to 166....past your pouring point. (?)
  3. Ok, thanks! That is interesting...I will have to try some of this stuff!
  4. I couldn't find the bubbling base on their website. Did they discontinue this, or am I not looking under the right base? I went to New Directions Aromatics, right?
  5. Yep, I'd wick up. I like a cleaner jar. You might just get a better throw too!
  6. I get this too with my 444. Heat gunning the tops helps, but I usually don't even mess with it anymore. As long as the tops are smooth I don't mind the frost. Embrace it! :smiley2:
  7. I love to fill a BIG basket of my goodies. Put a pretty cloth inside to soften and it's a darling way to display without looking like you tried to hard.
  8. I second the Frosted Pumpkin! I used it in 444. It is a twin to Millcreek's Frosted Carrot Cake IMO.
  9. Well, if you like working with VASELINE the 4627 is for you. The 4630 comes in a slab, much easier to cut. HTH:)
  10. GE Silicone states it is not intended for temps over 400.....so I THINK that is rated high enough, right?
  11. It may not be the stickums....lately my masons have come with a curved bottom (slightly raised in the center) and there isn't enough of a flat surface for them to stick to. Hot glue will stick enough for you to just test so you can remove the wick when the candle is finished.
  12. I have never seen them up that high either. The CD22 give a very large flame. What size/style is your jar?
  13. Why don't you make a combination of the two. I like the size of the main logo on the left, but the simplicity of the single stripe on the right. So the tag on the right make the oval and fairy a little bigger. What size jars are those? I use a 5 oz. jar balmoral and 1/2 a business card and I never really thought my hang tags were too large. It might just be that they look big in the picture.
  14. I have this problem as well. I can't seem to smell my candles this time of year. It makes it difficult to test. I don't know if it's the humidity or the windows being open or the air conditioner....but in the fall they are wonderful! I am interested in learning why this happens
  15. No need to clean out your melting pot if it's just plain wax. I have 2 pour pots for each scent. That saves me tons in paper towels, hot water and soap...not to mention time! But, you have to have the space for 80+ pots! Mine stack, so it isn't to space consuming.
  16. If it's just plain wax, no need to wipe it out. I have 2 pour pots for each fragrance, so I no longer have to wipe and wash out the pour pot. I figured I will eventually spend that much on paper towels, hot water and soap. You have to have the space to store 80 or more pots though....mine stack, so it works for me!
  17. I rememeber you! Good to have you back in the wax!
  18. I do separate each and every order. The sellers come to me to pick their orders up. It usually works out with the boxes, some how. I can leave the sides up and tape them so it makes a taller box, with no lid. That way I can stack the candles 2 high. Some boxes aren't full though....but i just never seem to run out. In the end it all works out!
  19. I ACCIDENTLY tasted Millcreeks too! I don't know how I got it on me or why I had my tongue out, but I could taste the red hot! PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS ON PURPOSE! I don't know if it is safe or not. I washed my mouth and tongue off (yes I looked like a fool) cause I didn't want to die with wax in my pot.....
  20. Well, looks like I have to pour a few more testers today. I will try a 60/40 and a 50/50 and see how those work. Even though I have a huge pure soy order to get done, I will sneak in a few testers. That is a little more fun anyway, lol. Am I nuts? The thrill of the hunt I guess. I hate pouring testers when it is a wax that I have used for years and can't get it to work right, but this is PLAYING. It is fun to see how they turn out. I would like to add a blend to my line though, if I can get it to work! Thanks everyone for helping!
  21. Oh pooh. I did type that wrong. I am trying 75% 444, 25% 4630. I was hoping to pour hotter with the paraffin added. I usually do pour cool with the 444 alone. Maybe I should keep the same pour temp. I was just getting those funny milk spots when I poured cooler than 130 or something. I'd have to check...but anyway, I think I will try pouring much cooler once to see if that helps with the sinkholes. I hate sinkholes more than anything cause they can cause a really bad candle without you really knowing they are there sometimes.
  22. Yep, I got it a couple of times too. Right around fundraiser time. I have learned to pour from right to left so I'm not standing right over the previously poured candles. I also try to leave the room a while after pouring. And I SWEAR by this: Take a 20 min walk in the fresh air when I pour for several hours on end. I can't stand wearing a mask though, it is sufficating to me.
  23. I have poured at 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 150, 155, 165 and probably everywhere in between! If I pour 140 (about) and above I get sinkholes, and any lower and I get weird white spots (I call them milk spots cause it looks like milk!) Not like frosting, it's different. Maybe I will try more 4630. I really didn't want to go with more paraffin, but I may have to to solve this problem. 30% is just harder to figure too. (for me, anyway), lol. Oh, and I am working on the 8oz. sq. mason with this combo. TIA:)
