  1. I have melted all my oils and am close to 100 degrees... I am going to "attempt" a swirl tonight. I am using oxides. My question is I am going to color the main part one color and the swirls another, darker, color...when do I add the "main color"... just after I put aside my "swirl" color or do I need to put the fo in and then color??? TIA I am sure one of you wonderful and amazing soapers will be able to help me. Rachel
  2. I too heard about the dryer sheets... they really work IMO, when i forget to grab one and start pouring the lye in the cup I end up saying a few "choice" words and kicking myself, thankfully I do it out in the garage and DH sweeps up all the time out there (woodworking is a meesy thing). Thumbs up for dryer sheets!!
  3. great as always!! Love the layed one...you do those great!
  4. I like 'em, I like 'em a lot!!
  5. WOW those look GREAT! I love red, white and blue...Love what the star adds to it!
  6. Bee-u-ti-ful!! as always!! I bet you house stinks good!!
  7. I am so sorry broadzilla!! I TOTALLY know what you how you feels with not being able to find them locally!! Carriegsxr6... you would not have found that all at Wal-Mart... and she DID NOT need to be an a$$ to you... good for you making her put back all the groceries... I HATE rude customer service people:angry2: . Another supplier I order from is Majestic Mountain Sage (MMS) http://www.thesage.com/ they are in Utah... still closer than Ohio. I do like their stuff too. Most of the supplies I buy I have to get online, except some oils (coconut, safflower, Olive oil) , salts (epsom, sea salt) and the FO's I get a Cierra Candles. I too thought "I hate Nevada" too when I first started doing B&B not too long ago, now I just remind myself "it could be worse" We could be out of the US and not have as many options for suppliers...I know there are few here from other countries (UK, Ireland, Canada and Italy).:tiptoe: HTH you feel a little better:D
  8. looks awesome...and I think I can smell it from here... oh wait... that is my little bottle of Mango I had to bust out to have smell-net...LOL Great job, beautiful swirl.
  9. Hey neighbor!! Where in NV do you live??? I am 30 miles East of Reno, out in "Fern-Tucky". I used quite a few of the Cierra Candles scents. In CP I have used the Oatmeal Milk and Honey...which ROCKS, everyone (except my mom) LOVES it. I used their Cashmere Bliss and DO NOT suggest it in CP!! It siezed and immediately turned and bright orange and then settled into a nasty orange brown. They don't really carry any soapmaking supplies other than the FOs and Colorant that is CP safe (whatever that means), and they do have some pre-made bases for lotion and stuff. They are very nice there and the orders are ready for pick up usually the next afternoon. HTH!!
  10. I know that I am on the "other" coast, but here are a couple I have bookmarked... http://www.herbco.com/ http://sfherb.com/ I think any herb/tea/botanical store would probably carry these and you will most likely get a good price from a wholesale/bulk seller. HTH.
  11. Very nice!! I still dont have a slab mold...so still haven't tried to do them yet. Great looking swirls!

  16. Great site! Thanks for the link. Now I have got more recipes to increase my OCD...will it ever end?? I DO know the answer to that one!!
  17. That is wild! I see them right off the bat. With both of the soaps put together and looking at both as one.... I see a person-like face. Maybe that last one will send me to a rubber-room with a love-me jacket:laugh2: .
  18. I LOVE LANSINOH!!! I used it all the time with my kids...I had "super suckers" and my nipples bled!! My milk didn't work for me, but Lansioh did! I still by it and use it on all sorts of things...super chapped lips, hangnails, eczema patches...and more. BTW Sherie...I am working on going into nursing school with the dreams of being an L&D nurse too!!!
  19. WTG Ashlie!! The swirls look cool, I still haven't attempted swirls other than "in the pot" but so far I only have a log mold that DH made me...just need to get on it and figure out the dimensions I want/need for the slab so he can make it!! Great job, keep it up, can't wait to see more from you:wink2:
