  1. I want to put the ingredients on the bars of soap that my friend is going to give as gifts for C-mas. I need to know what to do with the Crisco?? I know that it is hydrogenated Soybean and Cottonseed oils...but no clue as to where exactly they should go because I don't know their percentages...KWIM Here is my recipe 33%- Coconut Oil 30%- Crisco 20%-Olive Oil 12%- Soybean Oil 5%- Castor Oil 1% F.O. I am just not sure what to do with the Crisco, I even have the INCI names:undecided TIA for any help you can give me. I know that there are some of you out there that use this so I am hoping you will chime in and "help a sista out!":D
  2. They look great and I bet they smell delish!! I like the square bars too.
  3. They are beautiful as always and the sound delish!!
  4. Yes, thank you! i love having these types of sites in my bookmarks:yay: .
  5. Very nice. I hate when they don't work out the way you want. But I think they are very nice looking!!
  6. looks purty...bet it smells wonderful too!
  7. Looks great!! I was so proud a few weeks ago when i made my first batch. I have been passing them out for people to test for me...I want to do this as my C-mas gifts this year!! Maybe add to my line someday... if i can makanything 1/2 as nice as some of the glas (and guys) here!! Congrats again and can't wait to see the cut pics.
  8. I like them...they look rustic to me. I be they smell delish!! I have only done one batch of CP so far and I just can't wait to have a batch sieze on me...NOT!! That is such a bummer... but, I still think that they look cool the way they are.
  9. Wow, wow, wow...did I say wow??!! Those are beautiful. I am glad you shared this with us ... even if they are not perfect to you...they to the rest of us:D . Keep on rockin' chica!
  10. The cow spots on my program (Printshops 12 & 16) is one of the textures you can use for the entire background. The background on my label is at 10 or 20%... I still wanted to be able to read my text. HTH
  11. I like the 2nd one best. For perfect rounded corners you could get a "corner rounder" I know that Creative Memories COnsultatns sell them and I am sure that Michaels or some other craft store would carry them...they would be by the punches.
  12. LOVE 'EM!! They are beautiful and sound yummy!! BTW I just had to say that my mom's name is Anita too!! Not too many of you gals around. Everytime I see your posts it makes me think of my mom... and that is a GREAT thing...man I can't wait to see her when I go home for C-mas!! Oh yeah...again the soaps are AWESOME:D
  13. Thanks again everyone! Marcia...The pic of the cow is offline, my best friend was doing a search and emailed it to me... most likely a google search. I used the 2x4 Avery 5163 template in my printshop program and got both the front and back labels on one label (so I cut a 2x4 in half to get the size that is on the bottle). The labels are printed on a clear full sheet of clear waterfroof laser lables (from onlinelabels.com) and cut. I did have to cut about and 1/8 of an inch less that the 2x4 so that they would stick nicely, I found that when they were a tad bigger they woud wrap over the curves and not stick flush...KMIW. Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't and I will try to explain better. Let me know how it does and I would love to see a pic of your too. Hugs, Rachel (Ruba)
  14. Love 'em!! Very cute yet inexpensive the best way to go.
  15. I like the second font much better too. They are great!! I think that they would be great for all sorts of occasions and you should add them to your line...Graduation, Teacher's day, baby showers...etc. Your stuff is always so beautiful and this is too. Keep up the great work and keep the creativity flowing:D .
  16. Thank you everyone. They turned out almost like I had envisioned. I am glad that Marica was willing to do this co-op and I am glad that I jumped on it...it was my first and it was great!! Thanks again.
  17. I just wanted to share my Milk Bath packaging... I love these little bottles. Thanks Marica for doing this co-op!! Sorry the pic isn't the best quality... I am getting ready to go do a sleep study at my neurologist's office, but wanted to share!! BTW the directions and ingredients are on the back... sorry no pic of that.
  18. This is what I have done... last 2 orders I placed with them had no tracking #'s. I go the the UPS website and there is a link you can click for "Track By Reference" it is in the box that says "No Tracking Number? No Problem." Fill out some of the info. I search from the day I placed the order to the currrent date for the ship date range. You can put your order # in the reference # spot and them fill in your country and your zip. I got my estimed delivery date and tracking info from doing this. HTH!! ETA: I just saw Darwin's post and she is right, UPS may not have the info yet...but recently my orders never had a tracking #, not even days after WSP had shipped.
  19. I bought the Burberry "London" dup from WSP... and compared with the mens cologne (or whatever it is) and it is not a great dupe... BUT... the scent is AWESOME...very sexy. So as far as the dupe part goes theirs is not all that, but as a general scent...it is, shal I say...yummy!!
  20. WOW, WOW, WOW! I am speachless...well... not totally:D . That is BEAUTIFUL!! I knew my the name it would be interesting...but man is that gorgeous!! GREAT job:bow: .
  21. They look Great and the scent sounds delish!! I have been thinking about getting a wavy cutter...I love how it looks.
  22. Thanks again guys/gals for the kind posts. I did end up cutting of the ash and I feel much better about how it looks now. Wow, cutting is going to take A LOT of practice. Maybe I will have to invest in a Kelsie...man those look cool. But for now I will have to deal with the "rustic" looking soaps with crazy edges:D . Not that there is anything wrong with the rustic look...I am just one of those gotta be "90 degrees" girls...can you say O.C.D.?? Thanks again and I will post more pics of future batches...and you KNOW there will be more.
  23. Thanks everyone for the wonderful advice and all the encouraging comments! The ash does bug me so I will probably cut it or wipe it off tomorrow. After being in my Chemistry class this semester and handling all sorts of salts and acids...I figured it was time to jump in and stop being a chicken "sheet". I have no idea what I was so worried about...well, it was the fact that I have DD who is 6 and DS who just turned 2...and my fears that they would get hurt. I feel good with one under my belt...but as you all KNOW... it is NOT enough... another monster has been created. TexasBrat-gotta love the $1 spot at Target...the bowls were so friggin cute that I just had to buy them and figured I will use them most likely for gift sets...I got 3 styles of them. ashwini- I saw your beautiful soaps earlier and was going to leave a comment then got pulled away by the family...darn them. It looks great. The recipe is a simple one, nothing fancy in it 33% Coconut Oil 30%Crisco 20% Olive Oil 12% Soybean Oil 5% Castor Oil the numbers from soap calc were 39 hardness 22 cleansing 56 conditioning 27 bubbly lather 21 creamy lather 68 iodine 154 INS Not sure what all the numbers really mean but I think they were all in the recommended range. I am going to make another batch that is more cleansing and harder, I dont remember the rest of the differences were but I want to know what the numbers mean and the only way to really know is to do it and test them out. If anyone sees a big problem with the recipe I used, please let me know what I can do different. I was just messing around with the oils I had on hand this weekend and was trying for something decent.... we'll see what happens. Thanks again!!
  24. Thanks Carrie!! I did cover it...but with a piece of cardboard and then with 2 towels. When I peaked after an hour I didn't see anything like gel going on...but I wasn't really sure what I was looking for either. Can I cut it off or should I just leave it on and give my friends the "ugly soap but works" warning??? I will definitely put saran wrap on the next batch. I didn't even think of using that...DH got the cardboard because I said I didn't want the towels touching the soap. Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.
  25. I would sell it unscented. Some people actually like fragrance free. I can totally see why you are flustered...it is BEAUTIFUL soap. But I am sure that it will sell...even without the scent. HTH
