  1. I posted this on a different thread, but wanted to put it here too. OK... I want to try an emulsified butter recipe and have never made lotion. My question is when you bring the water to the boil and hold it at 170, do you put a lid on it so that it doesn't evaporate?? I have searched and searched for the answer, but the only thing I saw was if water evaporated, to add some more water ... if I did that would that water also need to boiled to make sure all the "buggies" are out?? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question and TIA.
  2. Bet they smell great... great job Carrie, love the colors!

  4. Hey guys/gals. I just called them back and basically just wanted info... what I am going to use these for, is my business out of my home, how much will I be using annually, she said that she will get these out to me. I told here that I was using them for b&b, that my business is run out of my home and that I was still in the testing phase so don't know how mcuh I would be using at this time. Hope this helps anyone who gets the call back.
  5. They all look great! I really love the last one... I LOVE blue.
  6. the soaps look great. I agree with myst25872002, the presentations look great too!
  7. Thoes look GREAT!! Man, 25 pours... you must be one patient woman.
  8. Thanks Lindsay and Lara. I will call tomorrow and find out if they are going to send the samples to my "little" business or not... on the message, they said something along the lines of they "don't usually send them to residental address". So we will see. I will tell them that they need to call you Lindsay, and it would be in their best intrest to, since you do a substantial amount of business and could be a loss in sales for them. I will post again on what happens so that others will be in the "know" if they get the call
  9. I did go to their website and requset the three samples like lots of you have suggested. Here is my question... Did the reps call you to "talk" to you about your business and the "potential" future business?? I got a message on the phone regarding this. I am not a big business and would definitely be in the testing phases with these products since I have never used them before (Dry Flo, Hydrovance and Natrasorb Bath). Any advice on what they are looking for except big companies that will make them tons of $$. Any help you guys and gals can offer would be great. I am not going to call them back until tomorrow. TIA
  10. They look simple but elegant... I love that stuff.
  11. They look beautiful! DD was standing next to me when I opened it and she said "look at that pretty soap...it looks like the ocean". I like the texture on top.
  12. I love the colors and they match the scent so well! Great job!
  13. Christina!!! You are killin me! If you suck.... then what the heII am I doing???? I think they look good. I really like the raspberry one too... but maybe that is because I love the fruity scents.
  14. Thanks gals for the kind words and suggestions. I am not sure what I am going to do with them... maybe pretty them up, maybe just "make" my friends and family use it... we'll see.
  15. They look great! they remind me of the neons we (shamefully) wore in the 80's... Think Wham videos!! walking away...cringing at that thought:tiptoe:
  16. Thanks gals for the words of encouragement. It gelled, it did not zap, it cut fine and surprisingly didn't have any holes/air pockets!! YEAH! The top is lumpy, but it almost looks like I did it on purpose. You can kinda see where the yellow swirl portion didn't get mixed in the rest. And it smells GOOOOD I guess slamming the heck out of it one the counter and putting it in the oven help... not to mention a little bit of a stress reliever.
  17. is NOT very pretty. Everyting was going along just fine. I added the FO (had not tried until today) JS Celestial Waters, it looked fine was going to do a nice yellow swirl in my new mold DH made me. Pull the spoon out, slide the mold to me and go to pour ... PLOP!!! Crap, siezed up on me so I thow the color portion in and try to mix it in with the "GLOOP" in the mold. I slammed the mold on the table 1/2 a dozen times and threw it in the oven that was already pre-heated to 170. What do I do with this stuff?? I don't know if throwing it in the oven was the right thing to do...but I panicked. I hear about you guys and gals "saving" a batch... how would I go about doing this now??? Rebatch?? I LOVE this scent and will have to research rebatching quickly! Any helps, tips, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Thanks gals! I am going to post a new thread in a few minutes showcasing my disaster!!! I am glad to see that I am not the only one with "pee" in a cup for lye LOL.
  19. Thanks TXbrat...you were replying while I was editing!! Thanks for letting me know that you too get it.
  20. For those of you that use salt and/or sugar in your lye, does it turn a light yellow color?? I added the salt and the sugar to the water, made sure it was copletely dissolved and as soon as I added the sodium hydroxide it got cloudy (that's normal) but it also has a light yellow color to it. Any suggestion or experiences with this?? TIA!! ETA: forgot to add that it is solar/sea salt and not table/iodized salt.
  21. Those look awesome!! The colors are so nice and bright! Hope it doesn't discolor too much on ya!
  22. Great swirls! Sometimes the "not intended" looks great! Great job.
  23. It looks absolutely awesome! I knew before I opened the thread they would look great though;)
  24. VERY cute! I like them going to the side.
