  1. Take your time Ashlie...I totally know what you mean about DD being home and not wanting to do it. I only get to soap after they have gone to bed and when DH is home... with a DD(6) and DS (2.5) you never know what will happen in the house. We will be patiently waiting:grin2:
  2. Thank you Michelle for taking the time to explain that to me. I think the salt thing makes sense in regards to comparing it to a salt bar. I am definitely going to try this recipe and will play with the additives too. It may be a little while since school just started up for me again (taking molecular biology) and I knw that this is going to be an intense coure...wwwaaahhh. But probably not as hard as my Chem class. Thanks again for sharing your recipe and the info. I really appreciate it:D
  3. Thanks for the recipe... I will definately try it. OK now the $1 Mil stupid ?? What do the sugar and salt to in the soap. I did see this on the ingredients label using these, but didn't know what they DID in soap and why to use them?? Please, if you don't mind, let me know why?? TIA!!
  4. Beautiful as always:bow:
  5. I am with lindsaycb, I have been playing with WSP concetrate. My friend that I MAKE:p test stuff, says "it's the bomb". Out of the few that I have had test, one said it needed more FO (I used recomended minimum) but she loves the gel itself. Sorry I can't be more help since I am no where near selling it and don't have a ton of feedback either. HTH somewhat though
  6. You must have reading my mind Donna. A friend says it is AWESOME... I guess I too will have to make a trip to the mall to check it out. I love pomegranate scents.
  7. I use the malibu tubes from either WSP http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=554&CategoryName=Malibu+Tottle+-+Soft+Touch or Cotton Blossom Crafts http://www.cottonblossomcrafts.com/malibu_tube_tottle_1.htm. Now the WSP has the flat rate shipping I will most likely order them from there...but we'll see. HTH
  8. I think if you are NOT looney... you don't fit in here!! I KNOW that I am a certified Loon!! Sorry I can't help on the "real" question... I haven't tried them yet...but plan to soon!
  9. :highfive: VERY cute!! I think that the pearberry for the suitcase is a great pick. Will you please tell me what size labels you are using on the malibu tubes...I am assuming that they are 4 oz bottles, correct me if I am wrong. I am having issues with mine and looking to change them. TIA if you don't mind sharing.
  10. I finally found my print out.. you always put the things you want to keep in a safe place... so safe you can't find it:D . These are the only ones on the list... I thought there were more... but I can fill in the few I need that aren't here. Hope this helps someone else too!! Shea Butter: 88-100 F Mango Butter: 88-97 F Cocoa Butter: 93-100 F Aloe Butter: 93 F Beeswax: 144-149 F Palm Steric Acid: 135-140 F Kokum Butter: 99-104 F Illipe Butter: 93-100 F Caranuba Wax: 180 F Candelilla Wax: 156-163 F
  11. WOOHOO!! My shipping was ALWAYS HUGE because I am so damn far away... so I always ordered WAY more than I needed to feel it was even remotely worth ordering. I love their prices on MOST things and now I will order more from them with this deal. "doing the happy dance"*getdown*
  12. very nice..bet they smell yummy, yummy, yummy
  13. Thanks gals for the suggestions... I will have no problem during the summer letting the shea melt outside LOL. I will check out the MSDS sheets. Thanks again.
  14. I think it still looks great. I bet is smells delish:drool: . I can't wait to see the cut pics.
  15. BEAUTIFUL as always... I can't wait to see the cut pics. I bet is smells yum-O... yes I stole that from Rachael Ray... hey my name is 1.2 the same...
  16. Ok I am totally flustered, I KNOW that I printed a breakdown of the common butters and their melting temps:mad: Now that I need it I cannot find it and have searched with pages and pages of posts/threads with no luck. I am hoping that one of you wonderful people have it or know where I can find this info all in one place:D TIA I realy appreciate it.
  17. Oh Carole!! You will have to tell me about the "All Over Lotion" when you get it. I hope it is the same as the WSP "Head To Toe"... that would rock to actually want to push the "order" button instead of closing my eyes tight, taking a deep breath and pushing the enter key! Thank you Lindsay, I will keep the custom stuff in mind. You never know. Thanks again and Carole... please keep me posted on your lotions.
  18. Thanks gals for responding... I guess it is still up for trying. I guess I will check out the site more in depth and see if there is anything that I will be able to use. I will also check into the thread that you were talking about sockmonkey:D thank you again.
  19. I use the Head to Toe Lotion Base from WSP and my customers and I LOVE it... but of course the "shipping price" issuse always gets me. Shpping from OH to NV is HUGE from them. I saw another post by Bugtussle regarding this and saw that scentsme recommended that Jody at soapsandthings.com has lots of bases that others carry. The bases have the exact same ingredients and in the exact same order. My question is... Has anybody ever compared the "All Over Basic Lotion Base" from Jody to the "Head to Toe Lotion" from WSP?? I was thinking about getting a sample, but I don't need to order anything else at this time so was wondering if anyone might have some input or me. TIA.
  20. :cry2: No Hobby Lobby's in NV... I checked their site...Closest is in UT, which is WAY too far away. Thanks for the info though ladysj.
  21. Thank you blazerina. I wasn't sure f it would take acouple drams orless than one. I really appreciatr the help. It seems everyone out in Reno likes Wilton's stuff... that's all they had...wwwaaahhh:cry2: I guess I will look at the flavor oil list again...which is LONG and get a few to try... no to figure out what sweetner to use...
  22. I know this is an old thread...but I was hoping that one of you that use this in your lip balms can give me an approximate % or amount you have used with success. I have checked 2 Walmarts and Michaels with no luck. I did find their website http://www.lorannoils.com/ and was thinking of ordering some... but wondering how much I would need to get...I like to start off with small batches but I want to order enough to not get dinged with the small order fee ($0-15 is $7.00 and $15.01-35.00 is $5.00).:undecided Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any help you can give me.
  23. That's funny! Sorry she got "hurt"... tell her you will work on a "tear free" formula:D . Gotta love moms!!
