  1. Thank you Tall Blonde for the suggestion. School will be starting soon out here for us (DD and me too!) and maybe that will be when I can get it in...when DS is napping or maybe I can get a friend to have a play date with him. TIA and hope to hear from someone soon about these. Hugs, Rachel
  2. Hi guys and gals! I just want to let you know that I am amazed at all the wonderful creations you all make. I have wanted to make homemade soap for about 3-4 years:embarasse , but have never had the nerve...with the small kiddos around just to nervous about dealing with the lye and the curing process...I know that my 6 y.o. DD would want to "help" me and in turn woud get hurt. But I think I will be trying it sooner than later. The chemistry thing just fascinates me and love to see things I make from scratch come to life. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you make and sell these guest sized soaps approx 2" x "2" x 3/4"? I have never used a homemade soap and wonder how it does with the soft water I have. I wanted to come here first before going out and looking for it in Reno. I want to support my fellow friends here first if possible. If you do sell these can you please give me your website or other info for me to order a few to test out. TIA!! You guys and gals rock and you are always so helpful to everyone in need. ***Okay maybe the "guest bar" wasn't the best wording. After seaching a bit I came up with "end cuts". Does anyone here sell their end cuts and if so can you post your website or PM me on how I can buy some. I really want to try homemade soap and would like to support one of you guys if possible. Hugs, Rachel
  3. I like all the choices and all the other names suggested by others...but, I have to say that Haight Ashbury is my fave. When reading your list that one really popped out at me. Hugs, Rachel
  4. This is what it says on the WSP website for Dendritic Salt... Dendritic Salt is a very fine grain salt with a greater surface area than most salts on the market. This greater surface area allows the salt to absorb twice the amount of oil. It has less clumping, greater fragrance retention and dissolves quickly in water. Suggested Use Level: • Bath Salts: 80-90% • Scrubs: 10-25% That's all I had time to look for...need to put the baby down for a nap. HTH! Hugs, Rachel
  5. Wow, wow, wow! Beautiful. I am speechless. That doent happen that often. I, like everyone else hopes that it sticks. Hugs, Rachel
  6. I guess they are not waterproof. It doesn't state that they are, but I am pretty sure it was a post here that I saw it on. I am sorry. I hadn't had a chance to really check them out until just now when I licked my thumb and rubbed it across it. I am truly sorry. :embarasse . I can't wait to see where they actually exsist. Hugs, Rachel
  7. I just got my sample crystal clear labels from onlinelabels.com and I have a injet also. They are specially made for injuet printers. So far they seem fine. I did have my first one smear...but I think that was because I didn't let the ink dry first...took it right off the printer as soon as it was done and slapped it on...Talk about being impatient:D You can go to their website and request some...I think you can get up to 20 sheets. Hopefully people will post here with more info from more experience since I don't have any on products I sold I don't know how they preform in the long run. HTH Hugs, Rachel
  8. Thanks Rachel...one more thing to keep me on the computer instead of doing the things I NEED to be doing! This is why I need a laptop, so I can sit in the livingroom watching the kids and fiddle farting on the computer. Thanks!! Rachel
  9. Thank you EVRYONE for all the tips and information. I see both sides of the picture more clearly. I am not sure what I am going to do yet, but one thing for sure I am going to buy my pipettes from Carrie's link...that is MUCH better that what I paid for what I have now. As far as them being "disposable" lots of things are labeled that way and lots of people re-use items (ie. plastic plates and cups") some people just want to cut down on their trash contribution to the earth others want to save a few extra pennies...in the long run they do add up. I think that we all just do it our own way and what we are comfortable with. Again that you to all of you that posted and gave words of wisdom... I appreciate it. I am very new to making these things for others for sale and having a small business so all the input I can get helps. Thank you again!! Big HUgs, Rachel
  10. I just got my clear label sample and I can't wait to try them out...after I help DH unpack from our trip home to San Diego. thecandlespastore- YOU ROCK!! Thank you so much. I went out of town over the weekend and came back to this post with an edited logo!! Thank you, thank you thank you. I will have to get this one on the new stuff. The business cards will have to have the "dreded pee drops" on them...oh well, I can live with that. carolgant-thank you for the advice too. I appreciate all the helpful advice and help in general. Hugs, Rachel
  11. elleah & LindaColo-Thanks gals. I thought I had read that somewhere here...but could not find it in the serches I did. How do you keep them from dripping...ya know the stuff that is still sliding down the inside walls a few minutes after?? Carrie- Where did you buy them from that cheap...mine came out to $.11 each. And I thought I had found a decent deal when I bought them after researching. When I come home from San Diego (my true home) I will have to try your suggestions. I would love to see pics of how people organize their stuff and their workplaces. Maybe someday I will start a thread on that. Thanks again...I gotta go pack...oh the joy!! Hugs, Rachel
  12. Do you guys and gals reuse your disposable pipettes for your FO's & EO's?? If so how do you store and label them? I have been reusing them and storing them in a snack size ziplock baggie with the name on tape of the outside. But this is getting cumbersome as I keep adding FO's & Eo's to my shelf. Any suggestions or ideas would be great to have. I am not the most organized person, but with kids, school and now my small business... I need to do things a bit more efficently that I am currently doing them. TIA...I really appreciate it. You guys and gals ROCK when it comes to helping others out!! Hugs, Rachel
  13. Thanks ladies for all your input. I was thinking on the same lines...waterproof is the best... just wondering what everyone else does too. I think I am going to use the VCR tape front label size...basically 2x3 -a few decimal points! And I requested a sample of that size and clear from onlinelabels.com. The best part was I requested them right online, I didn't have to cal them. coloresse- Thanks for the compliments on my work. I LOVE to draw stick people (I wish I was as good at it as that co. "Me and My Big Ideas" for scrapbooking)... but I will settle for being just as good as me. Some people can't even draw that. LOL jwahlton- I have seen your munkey around on the posts I have checked out...LOVE it! ...very clever spelling. pamperme- I have thought about cutting the labels...but I am trying to save time anywhere I can...KWIM?? But I will remember it incase I don't like the size I am thinking of trying. BTW...I like your name:yay: and your co name is cute too!! Thanks again Gals. I hope someday I can be of help to others also. Hugs, Rachel
  14. Thanks Carrie! I will have to see what I can do about taking the drips off. I drew, scanned, printed the name on it, and then my friend put the checkered border on it for me. I don't have the type of program she has to do al the fun graphic things (not even sure what it is) all I have is Print Master and I didn't see anything like a paint brush or eraser to erase it. Maybe I can do it in Kodak...hmmm, I will see what I can do. I never even thought of it that way. But, all the business cards are printed that way so hopefully no one will see it since it is a smaller version. LOL:D Thank you again!! Hugs, Rachel
  15. Those are beautiful. The people who get them will be not only lucky...but very happy. I am sure that one is not for me:D . Hugs, Rachel
  16. Hi guys and gals! My name is Rachel, I am a 31 year old mom of two (DD 6 yo and DS 22 mos.) a SAHM and a student (hopefully get into the nursing program in a couple years). I am a total newbie here and have basically been a lurker since I came here. I just want to say THANK YOU!!! to all of you for the great info that you share here. I am still trying to learn as much as I can. I just started a small B&B business out of my house and am fairly new to it all...business and B&B...I dable in all sorts of crafts and hobbies and have done scrubs and M&P in the past, but am REALLY getting hooked to this stuff. I currently have a sugar and salt body scrub and lotion (I use WSP Head to Toe Lotion base and scent it). SO for my first offical question... Do you gals (and guys) use waterproof labels for your lotions bottles?? I have been using a 4 oz Malibu tube bottle from WSP and putting a 2x4 waterproof white label on it (from onlinelabels.com), but I feel it is too big. I was also looking at the clear labels for the lotions. I am just not happy with the size and look of the 2x4's and think that a 3x2 (or close to that) would look better. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW...here is my logo. I hope I attach it ok...sorry if it is huge...I have a screamin' baby and don't have time to resize it. TIA!! Rachel
  17. Thank you so much eugenia for the quick response. Well, I guess that should have been a no brainer...I guess I really do need to continue going to college:wink2: . I am working on getting into the nursing program. Again thank you VERY much, I really appreciate it. Hugs, Rachel
  18. I am brand new here and this is my first post...yeah for me for not lurking anymore!!:highfive: Kimberly can you please tell me how much this recipe makes (8 oz jars or whatever is a common size). I would really appreciate it. I have just started a small homebased bath and body company and trying to get ideas for other products to make. So far I have found this message board to be of GREAT help!! Thank you all for thew great info. Thanks in advance, Rachel
