  1. I hope whe I fainally get to the stage of swirls I can do it 1/2 as good as you. They are georgous...just like all your others.
  2. Beautiful! What about Waves of Karma?? A twist on OutlandishLady's last suggestion. I am not good at the naming game either but hey, I gave it a shot. GL.
  3. At least I think it is. I was searching for the INCI names for some items and ran across this... HTH sombody. http://www.oshun.ca/inci.html
  4. I really appreciate all the replies. School (college) is starting for me this coming Tuesady and I am not sure that I will get my first batch in before then:cry2: . But I have been reading, and reading, and reading... on this and I am excited to do my first batch. You bet your sweet buns I will post it when I do...no matter how ugly it turns out:D . Thanks again.
  5. Too cute Darwin!!! I saw those at go planet earth a few years ago and wanted to try them but the cost always stopped me. That was when I was doing it for fun and didn't have that many friends that lived close enough to give them too...I hate paying shipping:D . Too cute!! They rock!! My DD who is six just saw the pic and now she wants them...(big sigh) thanks alot!!! Now I am going to have to do it soon.
  6. Thank you everyone for the wonderful input. Everyone here rocks!! You guys and glas are so helpful when others need it. I am glad that I found CT and I am not leaving anytime soon!!
  7. Thank you Scent Cellar and Darwin. That is what I was thinking about doing. I need to get a few more oils and a bit more courage and I will be making my first batch. Thanks again.
  8. Beautiful. You make excellent swirls:bow: They are all beautiful.
  9. Hey guys and gals! I am getting so close to soaping and I was wondering...When you make soap do you have one basic recipe you use for a lot of batches and just change the scents and colors or Do you have a different recipe for each bar of soap?? Hope that makes sense. I just wanted to know what others did. I figure I wil start out with a basic recipe and change scents in that and as I get better I will make "specialty" recipes for some others. At this point it will be for family and friends to be my guinea pigs...it's ok if you burn their skin off right?? TIA for any info you can give.
  10. Love 'em. I swear I am going to CP soon. I know they won't be anything like yours...but I will most likely keep practicing. I am sure I will be an addict in no time.
  11. That is bee-u-tiful!! I can't wait to see the cuts pics. Your soaps are always so pretty. I hope that when I finally get the nerve to do the CP and have some practice that mine look half as good as yours (and Brenda's) and so many others here.
  12. Rachel they look great...the pics are small and I can't get them any bigger...but I like what I see! That is how I pictured them in my head.:highfive:
  13. I think the Ziplock part rocks so the moisture doesn't get in. I had thought about doing that...sans the white bag...and thought it would look cheap. I never thought about putting in in a luch bag...good idea. I would have to see a pic first, but the visual in my head is pretty good and I know that you are one creative cookie...so I am sure that it will look great. Post a pic if you do one to night. BTW...I wanted to let you know that I am bummed that you didn't get the loan you were looking for.:awww: But it is good that you have a plan B. It will all work out in the end. My motto for life is "everything happens for a reason" even though you may not see it at the time. If I didn't have this motto, I would be in a padded rubber room with a "love me jacket" banging my head on the wall. HTH a little.
  14. Hi Luci. the ones I buy can be sealed with a household iron...but I have a food saver so I use that. It can be a little messy, its hard to judge how much to put in there so they done over flow. I am getting ready to do another batch of sample packs here in the next few days and this is what I am going to try out... DH got me a flaovr injector, the ones you use on poultry and meat, and I am going to figure out how many mililiters the packet will hold without leaking when sealing. I will have to post an update on that. I agree that it is more cost effective than little jars and the amount that the packets I use is enough to at least do your hands and arms...and more when they get over filled:laugh2: . HTH
  15. I have never made candles..yet...but I ordered a 1 oz bottle "Oatmeal Raisin Cookie"from Cierra Candles (www.Cierracandles.com) and it smells great OOB. I got this for my sister because she LOVES the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie candle from Wal-mart...did I say tht out loud. Anyway I told her I COULD ATTEMPT to make her a candle if she like the scent. She LOVED it. But like I said I haven't made candles yet...and like everyone I am almost destined to in the near future...due to this amazing board. HTH somewhat. GL, I hope you find one that is to die for!! BTW it is NOT skin safe incase any of you are thinking you would like it for B&B.
  16. This is who I order my little foil packets from and she only charges actual shipping. I did a bunch of searching for these and this is the best price I have seen. I am not much help in the other types of sample containers. HTH somewhat. http://creationsbyrades.com/ I forgot to add that you find them under the "fast buy" section. Hugs, Rachel
  17. It has been off and on for about a week. I was doing an order for my mom and have had issues with it a lot recently. Not sure why, but I know that it has been on from the looks of the posts. Hugs, Rachel
  18. They are beautiful...man I wish I had "Smell-o-net". Great job. SOrry to hear about the Diabetes:awww: . I understand not being able to eat the sweets. I had WLS (weight loss surgery) and too much sugar makes me sick. Keep up the great work. Hugs, Rachel
  19. They are SO beautiful and intricate, I don't know if I could bring myself to use them and ruin them!! Great job!! Hugs, Rachel
  20. Hey guys and gals. I have seen so many posts about people finding citric acid in pharmacies...well I live near Reno and I still haven't been able to find any. Well today I did some research and found out that homebrewers (those who brew their own wine and beer) use this and you may want to check and see if you have a store or supplier in your area. The one that is here in Reno charges $3.50/# and for me I would pick it up...so NO shipping YEAH!! Just thought this might help some of you who can't find it locally or hate to pay shipping. Hugs, Rachel
  21. That is what I do too. I looked at it this way...if the bags are sanitary enough to hold food that you will consume than I feel they are sanitary enough to use for things that go on your skin. . HTH. Big Hugs, Rachel
  22. Thank you so much for that awesome! tutorial with the great pics:bow: . I have never done CP...yet (the siren is singing and I hear her loud and clear) and hopefully it will be soon. I am a much better learner when I SEE things and not just read them...so this is now printed and in my notes. THANK YOU!!! Hugs, Rachel
  23. I am currently using the 4 oz from WSP and everyone says it is a grest size. I am looking at using some 2 oz for gift baskets I will be making for my mom's co-workers for C-mas...I would also like to start carrying an 8 oz. HTH Hugs, Rachel:D
  24. They look great! I too have been eyeing these and wanting to try them out. I am a "need to see" kinda gal and this step by step was perfect. Thank you!! I will give them a try soon. Hugs, Rachel
