  1. I've had the pleasure of trying both and IKS is best hands-down. Jen
  2. I thought it was a pretty valuable site too . Jen
  3. Cool beans, IKS (on them special ordering the bags for you if necessary!). I like the one you posted - I think the color will go well with your line. Much better than the thank you bags! Jen
  4. IKS - Great bags! Do you worry that NW may stop carrying them? Please do not go with the cheapy thank you bag. Can you go with a fun colored paper bag? That *should* cut down your cost without impacting your professional look. KWIM? Jen
  5. I've decided I much prefer making a bubbling milk bath (easier and I prefer using them) and save bath bombs for when I need to take out some frustration (ie. pounding the meatballer). Jen
  6. I hate the smell of TRO too...I can always pick up on the smell. Blech :lipsrseal .
  7. I'm kind of confused, Carol. The citric acid in regular bath bombs (and milk baths without slsa) do make fizzes in your water. Citric acid in bubbling bath bombs help the bath bombs break apart in the water but you don't noticed fizzing with the mounds of bubbles coming from the bubbling bath bomb. Bubbling milk bath also produces mounds of bubbles so again - yuu don't notice the fizzing of the citric acid. That's been my experience at least. I've even used bubbling bath bombs that do not have citric acid so take a little more work to break apart but eventually they do so again - citric acid not really necessary. I dunno...I've made plenty of recipes of all things mentioned above and tested, tested, tested (as I love baths and take one at least once a day)...that's just been my experience though. Jen
  8. No - I make bubbling milk bath (with slsa) and trust me...tons and tons of bubbles. Jen
  9. I'm one that finds it too drying and I don't really have sensitive skin. Jen
  10. Lots of people sub out the TRO for something else. I've personally done monoi and shea oil. Some will use a different water-soluble oil, some will combine an oil with polysorbate, and some will sub out straight oil. TRO is kind of thick so I chose thicker oils when subbing. HTH! Jen
  11. That's funny! What I meant is...I like to package my bubbling milk bath in the silver lined pouches and the pouch can react with the citric acid and expand and eventually blow-out! So no citric acid - no having to worry about exploding milk bath! Jen
  12. Just be sure to include a warning for those with sensitive skin. I do this on all my spicy B&B items regardless of if it's made with a spicy fo or eo. I would think the spices are just dusted on top in which case they'll be mostly gone after the first lathering up anyway! Jen
  13. Candleman - definitely include a warning but don't shy away from spicy scents for your B&B. People will know if they have sensitive skin or not...I'm kind of middle of the road and can handle the spicy fos and eos just fine. SNC has excellent quality fos and thankfully they are now carried by Rustic Escentuals. The bummer is that they're not carrying SNC's Cinilla which is the closest thing I've found to BNC's Closeout Cinnamon Vanilla :embarasse. Thankfully I have a fairly large stash for myself (couple of lbs at least) so I won't run out for personal use anytime soon. Jen
  14. Send me a pm with your addy and I'll get something out to you. I am absolutely not kidding when I say this is my absolute favorite and is unlike most suppliers Cinnamon Vanilla. I have a very embarassing story regarding how I got into chandling and eventually B&B and I do have to say...it all begins with one White Barn Cinnamon Vanilla candle. Thousands and thousands of dollars later...here I am . Jen
  15. I started with this recipe and love it but tweaked it to make it my own. I dropped the citric acid from the list of ingredients because imo - it's not necessary here as there's nothing that it needs to "break apart" so to speak. Also - citric acid can cause a headache with packaging and it's just one less thing to remember. Jen
  16. Candleman - SNC's Atomic Fireball is skin safe - I've used it in cp soap with great success. Anything cinnamon (or spicy for that matter) should contain a warning for people with sensitive skin. I do this regardless if I'm using spicy fos or eos. BCN's closeout is skin safe and I've used this in cp soap as well. If you bribe me enough , Angela, you may be able to get a bit of my stash if it's only for your friend and you don't want to add it to your regular line. Jen
  17. This one I know as it's that scent that got me into making candles!!!!! BCN's old closeout was the closest I've ever found but since they don't carry it, and I'm hoarding it for my own personal use ....SNC's Cinnamon Vanilla is very very close (I'm not sure it's on RE's site though). You will not be able to replicate by just taking cinnamon and vanilla...it's much more complex than that. I do have a lb of that if you'd like to take a bit to try. Jen
  18. Just submitted my application! Woo hoo - now I can really open up for business!!!!! Jen
  19. I've always been the odd one out and just don't like it. It smells very plasticky to me in candles and B&B applications. Jen
  20. I can't find Bunny's! Anyone willing to help me out? I did a search here and the Archives... Bunny has awesome recipes...can't believe I missed this one! TIA - Jen
  21. I've used SNC's Atomic Fireball but now I used the eo. Jen
  22. Please do! B&B is fun and addicting and it's wonderful to be able to pamper yourself and others with the creations *you* made. Send me a pm at the Dish when it's back up and we'll get you going in the right direction. It seems like you do want to learn and that's awesome! There are some great simple recipes that allow you to learn and experiment without too much going awry! Shake it off. We all started somewhere. Jen
  23. I posted as you were... FM - here and the Dish (and other places as well) are chock full of research. You just have to put in the time to do it. Send me a pm if you wish and I can get you started. I'm firefliesandpixies on the Dish if you'd like to utilize me there as well. I'm not saying that I'm going to answer all your questions (or that you'd want me to!) but I can point you in some proper directions. We all started someplace. Don't feel stupid. Take is as a learning experience...k? Jen
  24. And I just realized that I'm making a huge assumption that you haven't done your research. Perhaps you have and I'm sorry if I assumed something that's incorrect. There are just too many people that want to make a quick buck without putting in the time and investment that a lot of us have. I'm not saying you're one of them....it's just something that people are pretty cautious about. Jen
