  1. I do it right after I make soap! I scrape every last bit into my mold, wipe out with a paper towl and then rinse. I find that if I wait till the next day, it takes me longer and is more putzy. Jen
  2. That would be Wisconsin Dells! (I used to work there during summers in HS and college) Jen
  3. Yup - fco is non-staining whereas the 76...very staining! I adore massages but would only want essential oil blends...not fos. Sorry! To me...having a massage means I'm doing something good for my body. Your base is natural oils...why not stick with natural and use eos instead of fos? There are plenty of good blends with the added benefit of aromatherapy at the same time! Jen
  4. Julia - I forgot about that...thank you! I do that too and it really does work. Jen
  5. I've tried both and yes - they do seem the same to me! Jen
  6. I've been using OCM for about a year and love it!!!! What works best for me is 50% monoi: 50% castor and then I follow it up with a facial serum of 89% squalane, 10% monoi, and 1% vit e. I had to play around until I got the right mix for me. Jen
  7. Here's what I do...at very thin trace (just barely traced!) set aside what you'll use for layering. Bring the remaining to a fairly thick trace and pour. Go back to your reserved portion, bring to a slighty thicker trace as well and then pour. I haven't had a problem with them mixing when doing it this way. Good luck! Jen
  8. All of my 70/30 jars are burning super clean - you're right - doesn't get much better than that! Jen
  9. As my daughter would say "Allll better". Thanks for clearing that up! I'm happy again . Jen
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. Mine turns 2 in a couple of weeks... And yes - biggest joy in the world! Sorry to hijack...back to the mango papaya review... Jen
  11. I think Snowtop will sell in 1lb increments... Also - try posting an ISO in the classifieds...almost always works for me! Jen
  12. And I just saw the Tom Sawyer bit...too funny. Sawyer is actually my daughter's name (she turns 2 soon) but my grandfather, Tom, likes to think I named her after him . Jen
  13. So sorry! I debated assuming you were female and just my luck...I assumed wrong. Sorry! Jen
  14. It means of the 10 she ordered - 9 were good and 1 was not so good. Jen
  15. There a topic on the Dish that's 12 pages long...do a search on Select Shades. Jen
  16. Possibly but what about the usage in other B&B applications? TW's response to the situation was very unprofessional which is fine but I for one won't be doing business with them. Jen
  17. I've defintely gotten black soot from soy candles that aren't properly wicked so it's not just paraffin that has black soot! IMVHO, using the whole soy vs paraffin thing cheapens not only you but your products. C'mon - be a little bit more original than that! Jen
  18. BCN is much closer and cheaper for me but I adore GL's 70/30 so that's what I'm going to go with. Like Bella said....to me it's about quality and for me - that's GL. Jen
  19. Thanks! I'll go with BCN for now (since I need to order anyway...and have free shipping from the convention ). Jen
  20. I've just started making rustic pillars and have been doing loads of research and keep seeing UV Inhibitor as a necessity (not that I sell yet but like to get in the "habit" of doing things the right way) for retaining color in candles. There's such a price discrepancy between Peak and BCN and I'm wondering what I'm missing and/or not seeing... Peak's is 8oz of UV Inhibitor for $12.90 or 1lb for $19.90 BCN is 2oz of UV Color Stabalizer (or their 2 part UV Inhibitor) for $7.95 or 1lb for $39.95 The usage is the same (1/2 t pp) so Peak's is obviously much cheaper but why such discrepancy? Is BCN's that much better than Peak's? And yes - I know everyone charges different prices for things, etc...I just want to get the "best" for my application but "best" does not necessarily equate to move expensive...kwim? I usually only order from Peak's in fo coops as BCN is much much closer to me for shipping wax, etc. Thanks - Jen
  21. I've used Pixie Dust and Bitter Orange Orchids in candles and both were strong! Jen
