  1. I have no idea how to work with clay. A tutorial would be very nice. Those are beautiful. I love how even your leftovers are a knockout!
  2. I just saw that Aztec carries a pumpkin apple BBW type. It sounds nice. Anyone tried it?
  3. Out of all the FOs I have had over the years the one that went bad on me was CS Very Vanilla. To this day I can't use that oil. I go with their vanilla lace or french vanilla. But I will never use very vanilla again.
  4. So I was checking them out and was curious about their Black Cinnamon and Black Coconut. Either of you try these? Also, they have an apple cinnamon BBW dupe. I'd be interested in that too.
  5. Never heard of them. Can you post a link?
  6. Not a candle story but wanted to share. I once had a lady that wanted me to reduce the price of a soap she wanted by 25%. I was selling it for $4 and she wanted it for $3. Her explanation was she bought a soap for $3 at the flea market so mine should be the same. I just looked at her like her hair was on fire and said 'no'.
  7. I was thinking about wood blocks. A fellow crafter friend uses a flat board to prop up her table but I am afraid of people tripping on that.
  8. Ask your local auto supply if they can take your oils. They have a used oil dump usually in a back room for that. Thats where people take their old oil from when they change the oil in their cars. Not sure you can but you can ask.
  9. Since I do a lot of markets and craft shows I sometimes have to put my tables on uneven terrain at outdoor events. Sometimes its a slope, sometimes its a depression in the ground. They can sometimes be as much as 2-5" or more on 1 leg or 2. Just wondering how others fix the gap between the ground and table leg to even the table. I have yet to come up with a good working solution.
  10. I am interested in this one too. Would you mind posting a review of it when you finished testing?
  11. Thats how I started. I had a ton of 1oz sample bottles and some leftover fragrances with only 1-5 oz left in the bottles. I sorted out the 'similar' types and just started combining scents together. One other good one I came up with for last fall was a Gingerbread Brulee. I threw my samples and leftover scents of gingerbreads, some vanillas and some creme brulee. It wasn't the greatest but I had enough for a couple cases of candles and sold them all. I think of it as a creative way to sell my unused FOs instead of tossing them out.
  12. Oooh! Thanks. That Duck Farts sounds interesting.
  13. Sorry I don't have any specific ideas for you. I sometimes shop at Gerschel Brothers for display materials. They specialize in store display. They are located in Philly, PA but have a website www.gerschelbros.com. I love their floor stands and table stands.
  14. You're welcome. Don't discount the CDN wicks. Someone here swore by them for their palm candles. Think it was either Stella or Sliver don't remember. I never tried them. When I read on CS website how they had their CSN wicks developed for them for glass glow I tried them out and loved them. But their wick guide is just a bit off when it comes to size.
  15. Thanks for the tip. I love citrus in soap too and so do my customers. I don't shop at Aztec so if you have other soap or candle favs you don't mind sharing please do. You know you can't just buy one sample. LOL
  16. Glad you like the sample names. It was fun thinking them up but hard to come up with a citrus type name. I am partial thou to Live, Laugh, Lime.
  17. Candle Science is the only supplier that carries CSN wicks. CS commisioned a large wick company to study the glass glow wax and develop a wick specifically for it. They came up with the CSN. Thats why you only find them at CS. The wicks are very similar to RRDs and made by the same company I believe. I use RRDs as a backup wick but the CSNs work the best for me. If you buy them from CS use their wick guide then buy the the next smaller size that the guide recommends.
  18. It may not be pink but they sure are pretty!
  19. Thank you Vicky! I love this gallery much better.
  20. Those little apothecary jars are adorable! I love the color you use too. I have been using cinnamon red for my DB. I also like purple/red? can't think of the name of that color at the moment. Have you tried CSNs for your palm jars? For a 16 oz jar I use a CSN12. I just find they give the best throw in my palm containers. They make a small size for small candles and votives too.
  21. Phew. Its nice to know others do the same. Yes I have made a few stinkers but I did get a really nice citrus fusion blend with one. Its a blend of Flicker's old Sahara (discontinued I think) with Elements/Flickers Sea Island Grapefruit. I added some lemongrass and litsea cubeba EOs to it. Its wonderful! I had enough leftover oils to make a full lb for soaping. That will last me for a while. I made another one I CP with. I just threw all my samples of men's cologne types plus my leftovers/samples of pine, spruce, etc. types together. Made about a half lb of a woodsy forest men's cologne type scent. Its very nice in CP. I just love it when I get something right! Makes me feel like a mad scientist. Bwahahahahahaaa!
  22. I think the most likely culprit is your FO. This is why I try to only buy my FOs from suppliers that give detailed reviews on their FOs. The only way to be sure is use the same recipe without the FO.
  23. Sometimes I mix outlandish concoctions just to see what scents they will make.
