    If lavender can go with peppermint, how about spearmint? That is my favorite mint EO. I love rosemary and spearmint EOs together. How about these mint combos: Lavender + Spearmint Lavender, Rosemary, Sage, and Spearmint Lavender, Spearmint, Peppermint, and Vanilla (this would be a sweet velvelty mint) No I haven't tried these. They could be yuck city! But they sound good enough to experiment with.

    I'm bummed because any new tester oils I buy will have to wait for a while. Like Scented I have to use what I have right now and money is super tight. Chandlerwicks thanks so much for that fine list! Question, do many of their oils work in CP? I ask because any new supplier I go with has to have double duty FOs that can be for both candles and soap. Or at least they must have some good CP FOs along with candle FOs.

    That sucks! I have had that happen with a bread type FO I bought once. It was Amish Friendship Bread from Fillmore Containers. Now they have some awesome FOs but this one you couldn't smell anything let along any bread notes whatsoever. If I see a pretzel fragrance I'll post it. Have you looked at Saveonscents? They have all sorts of scents and might have this one?

    Scented and Chandlerwicks you two are the worst sort of enablers! Now you got me curious about these FOs at CC. I keep trying to cut back on suppliers and ya'll aren't helping! Chandlerwicks-- might as well post your list..... please post your list! LOL

    I don't like CS' gingerbread at all. I do like CS Hanzel and Gretel but it does not smell like gingerbread to me. It smells like graham crackers, spice, butter. Its wonderful but not anything like gingerbread. The only gingerbread I use is BW Honey Gingerbread. Once I found this I can't use any other. My second choice for gingerbread is Peaks Gingerbread Cookies. It is a lovely ginger but it is also a cookie type while BW Honey Gingerbread is just like the real gingerbread cake with icing on top.

    Is CC Candle Cocoon? I don't buy from them. I've heard great reviews about Sultry Angel thou. I may have to check this out.

    Good luck with the Soapalooza blend. Hope it throws in your wax. I think Elements has a version called Bedtime Bath? I may be wrong. I ordered it once for CP and it was so so but customers still liked it. I'm pretty sure its lavender and chamomile.

    From Nature with Love has some. Its the kind that has the light coconut floral scent. Don't know if thats the one from the co-op.

    Wow! Those have got to be misprints. Wonder if those books are early editions and if the error was caught. Hopefully the reprints have that corrected. Like the other posters confirmed you definitely want to add your lye to your water and not the other way around.

    Ha! She really gave herself away sending you that message. Personally, I would play a little trick on her. Tell her that since she has been a 'loyal customer' to you to give you her name and address and you will look up her past purchases and send her a gift to reflect her loyalty.

    I did something similar. When I first started selling I was making paraffin candles but by then soy was very popular and paraffin had fallen out of favor. So my sales were slow. So I tested out soy for about a year before I started offering soy candles. Truth is I really missed working with paraffin so I kept testing and ended up with a parasoy blend I really liked. Those sold really well and I was proud that I had made a really good candle my customers liked. I say go with your gut and make the candle you want to make. Just make the best candle you can make as that is what will sell in the end.

    This sounds suspicious to me too. I would send her back the message that you will be happy to replace the candle after she sends you the one she is complaining about. Then stick to your guns on this. Its in her ballpark then and you have done the best you can to please her. If she still balks about it and makes excuses she can't send you the candle because blah, blah, blah, ignore her. By then you will know its a scam.

    I don't think lavender smells 'old lady' at all. There are so many lavenders out there in FO and EO that you can virtually smell something different in each one. When I make my lavender soap I make my own lavender water for my liquid and blend my favorite FO and EO to add to it. My customers love my lavender soap and I can't make it fast enough. But I must admit my 'other' lavender is a combo of Soapalooza's Blue Chamomile and Tassi Lavender. I sell a ton of this too. Have you ever tried Twilight Wood from SGS/Pure Fragrance OIls? Its a lavender blend. I add a bit of lavender EO to it to make the lavender pop.

    That should give you a really nice creamy lather. I love, love creamy lather!

    Oh yeah baby powder goes nicely with lavender. I have a lavender baby powder soap scent I make for one of my bastile soaps.

    Next time I go by BBW I'm gonna run in and smell it. The description sounds like a great soap/bath and body type scent. These are what I am always looking for-- something really good in a CP soap.

    If anyone can find a good chocolate chip cookie FO please share. The one CS used to carry sold out at every show I did. I really miss it. Not quite a cookie scent but Fillmore's Iced Lemon Biscotti is TDF. Everyone loves it. It throws really strong too. Now if they had a chocolate biscotti I could go for that too!!

    I only use the one from C&S. That's the one my customers like too. I also have a wholesale account with a shop that sells incense and he says my F&M and also the CS Dragons Blood smell just like the real incense.

    The hollidazzle sounds really good. But then I love bayberry with fruit and spice blends. Very holidayish.
