  1. Good to know! I sometimes see cute glassware on sale at the dollar store.
  2. Those look so beautiful. I mean everything, the glasswork, the beads. I'm wondering if I can buy some cheap vases and glassware at the dollar store to use. I just worry about cheap glass and heating in the oven. Is there any special glass you buy Vicki?
  3. Yes-- the citrus types I have tried orange, lime, and fresh squeezed orange I was not disappointed. I forgot their Drakkar is also a good one.
  4. Today I skipped market cause I woke up with a backache and stiffness. So I am lounging today and currently eating some ice cream to self soothe. Later I will take a nice catnap with my fur buddy. Trying not to think of how busy the rest of my week will be..
  5. I love C&S Witches Brew. I have used it in palm wax candles and CP soap and it is awesome. It does discolor in CP but I don't mind. Haven't tried it in soy wax so can't tell you how it performs. I too have more misses than hits with C&S. But the hits tend to be exceptional when they are. Some of my all time favs from CS are: Bayberry Apple Spice Witches Brew Vanilla Pods Christmas Splendor Orange (I use as a mixer with cranberry for fall. Its really good in palm and M&P) I've heard great reviews of their Harvest Spice. Its one of their best sellers but every time I have tried to get a sample they were out of stock. Its infuriating!
  6. Okay I am confused. I know I posted comments in part 1 and part 2 in the tutorial section. Now I am seeing this in the crafty discussion. Should I post my comments here instead? I just wanted to say thank you for the clay tutorials. Also, you make it look so simple. I know the first time I try this my clay is going to look like an ugly blob. LOL
  7. I could follow your instructions all the way until you got to re-gluing in your eye pins or eye studs. Are they the same? Can you show us a picture of the back with the studs in? I never made jewelry before so the stud attaching/glueing is new to me.
  8. Thank you so much for this tutorial Vicky! You make it look so easy.
  9. I need to get on the ball and pour some candles for fall season but I am so backlogged because of soap orders.
  10. I make palm wax container candles and I used the nutmeg ginger at 6%. Sorry I don't know how it performs in soy. But I do know that they test their FOs in C3 wax and won't sell them unless they are throwers. I suppose you could call and ask what % they test at. Ask for Keith. He's the ofc mgr.
  11. You know I had a bit of trouble too. The website was super slow and stalled when I tried to look up their Nutmeg Ginger stock. It does show on their website so they may have it back in but maybe having problems with their website? They will take your order over the phone. Sometime I just call in my orders.
  12. Just an FYI-- if you are ever in the area and visit Fillmore's they are right smack dab in Amish Country. The country roads leading to their warehouse with the Amish farms, barns, people, horsedrawn buggies, and farm animals are very picturesque. I love driving out there in the fall when the Amish farmers are out harvesting. I am always blown away by their heavy thick legged horses drawing huge tractors and the prize livestock on their farms. These people may be "plain" but their land and possessions look pricey to me.
  13. The only other coconut scent I have used is Soapalooza's Hawaiian Sandalwood. You have to use it at no more than .7% or it may rice on you. The first time I used it it riced and the sandalwood notes were non-existant. I just made a batch recently and mixed it at 1oz PPO in a 50/50 blend with Peaks Asian Sandalwood hoping some sandalwood notes would come out. So far the coconut is coming out but only after a 3-4 week cure. Next I am going to try AH/RE Hawaiian Sandalwood. Thats the one they bought from Tradewinds and is my favorite sandalwood. But for now I am on the hunt for a simple true coconut scent. I love Peaks Coconut Milk in candles and M&P. Just never tried it in CP.
  14. Are you sure they are out of Nutmeg Ginger? I just looked on the site and the 1oz, 1lb, and 25lb are listed.
  15. Well durn Old Glory! Thats not supposed to happen. I am thinking because its such a great fall type scent it must be selling fast. Its really worth the wait. I promise!
  16. I want a simple coconut scented soap for my shampoo soap I am working on. The reviews on Peaks website sound promising. Just wondering if anyone here has anything to add. Thanks.
  17. OMG! If you suddenly stopped buying soap molds you could go into shock! LOL
  18. My brain says you can never have enough molds. LOL Anyway, there are some more I really want to work with. Also, I really need to be able to do more production soapmaking. Right now I am selling soap faster than I can make it and not having enough production molds is only part of the problem. So I do see some more molds in my future....
  19. If you are going to Candlewic you could stop by Candles and Supplies in Quakertown, PA too. They are only 30 minute drive from Candlewic. When I go to PA for supplies from VA I stop first at C&S, then on to Candlewic, then back home by way of Fillmore. Now that Peaks has a distribution center in PA I will be adding that to my day trip list too. You know Backwoods and American Candle are also in PA but I think they are in southeastern PA. If you make CP soap another supplier is Golden Barrel in Lancaster (they carry soaping oils and some amazing syrups). Why oh why does PA have so many suppliers and VA has none! Oops-- forgot about Soapalooza but they are for soaping but you can still use their FOs for candles.
  20. My candle molds are boxed up. Don't use them much as I only make container candles now. But I bet I have at least a dozen assorted round and square molds plus embed molds. I'd like to have some scallop shape pillar molds and some taper molds but why do I need more molds when I don't make these candles? My mind says no but my heart says yes, yes, yes!!
  21. I just counted my M&P molds. OMG I have a total of 64!!!! 37 Milky Way assorted tray and soap set molds 3 silicone embed molds 9 Milky Way embed molds 5 soap on a rope double sided molds w/large rubber bands to hold in place 1 crayon mold (makes 27 crayon/chalk) size soaps 9 heavy duty soap set molds These do not include any of the molds I have bought for making CP soap. For CP I now have 11 molds so far. I intend to have a lot more over the next couple years: 2 Brambleberry 18 bar slab molds with dividers 1 ED silicone mold with custom fitted wood mold 2 SMR 5lb wood log molds 4 handmade PVC pipe molds with cappers and stands 2 pringles cans
  22. Personally I like eucalyptus. Maybe thats why I love CS Mistletoe so much! You can really detect the eucalyptus in there. Have you ever had a eucalyptus and spearmint soap? Divine!! Eucalyptus is gooooood. LOL
  23. That is very cool! think of the money you could save doing this yourself. I would also worry about the oll slick on the paper and looking not so pretty after a while. Seems there should be an easy solution for it. Aren't there some acrylic sprays that would make it water and oil proof?
  24. I love their soap colorants too. I just wish they would quit changing them all the time. I think they are the same colors just reformulated and renamed--like I think the vibrance colors are the reformulated neons. OMG the neons were amazing! Anyway I want at least 2 of their 5lb wood and silicone mold sets and all their soap colorants!! LOL I am thinking I may go back to my custom mold maker and ask him to build me wood molds to fit their liners. He can build them for much cheaper so then I only have to buy a couple of liners for $27 a piece.
