  1. Those look very nice! Your labels look good too! Good job
  2. That's a very kind and generous offer, thank you!
  3. Also keep in mind you're paying for packaging, not just the FO. Smaller bottles don't cost a whole lot less than a larger bottle, and the labels would be the same. They're also the same amount of work to weigh and prepare.
  4. You need to use a votive or pillar wax or add some beeswax to harden it up. Container wax is supposed to hang on to the sides, another wax or adding beeswax will help it shrink a little more. Also, if you have a hard time releasing it from the cups, it's going to be hard to get out of a warmer, too.
  5. I really like WYW Lavender & Sweet Basil from BCN. It's a wonderful scent and throws great at 3-4%!
  6. Try a different wick series in that jar with the C3. There seems to me to be quite a difference from the 105 to 126. I'd try an LX24 or 26. Is it the square mason?
  7. That better be one heck of a container! And it that just one wick for the rectangular jar? The body stuff is just as high.
  8. You should have a local or regional office through the SBA. There's a community college here that has one, and they have counselors you can meet with one on one for free to go over business stuff. Your chamber of commerce might be able to help you out too.
  9. It's supposed to be the actual candle weight. (net weight) I see lots of jelly jars labeled as 8oz candles, and I don't see how it's possible to get 8oz of wax in one of those things.
  10. This is one of those things you have to play around with a lot. I use the same wax I use for tarts, though I mix in more container wax. You may have your wick tab too close to the bottom. How does the bottom of your floater look? Can you see the edges of the tab or any air bubbles?
  11. It's larger than it used to be, so maybe they are.
  12. NuScents are pretty reasonable and they have a decent selection, though not nearly the selection as elsewhere. Not to terribly far from you either. http://www.nuscentscandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=101&Category_Code=CEO
  13. I have one, but I'm not real impressed. You're essentially tearing the wick rather than trimming it, and on a candle burning near the bottom I pulled the wick out (don't know my own strength, I guess). I use it to pinch out the flame and then go back with my trimmer.
  14. LOL, and here I thought you were trying to cut back a little. Once a FOHO, always a FOHO!
  15. You can heat gun as soon as you want, it's a little easier while they're stll warm but set up, or you can do it a couple days later. It helps to poke holes before or during to fill in other holes you can't see. Trying to cool them slower seems to help with the sinking sometimes. I do use C3 and use 3 different wicks: LX, HTP, and RRD. Whichever gives me the best burn for the jar, pretty much. I seem to notice they cool on the bottom first then the top, but there are so many variables and things to try, it's definitely worth trying. Just curious...did the vybar help with the bubbles? I have the bubbles too but it still seems to burn fine. If C3 continues to frustrate you, you could try another wax and see if you like it better.
  16. You don't need to add anything to this wax at all except UV inhibitor if you're coloring your candles. I get those sink holes pretty regularly, sometimes I think I've got them figured out then they start up again. You pretty much need to hit them with a heat gun and remelt the tops. It is a single pour, no need to do a repour. You can also poke holes in the top while it's setting up and then melt them closed when it's set up. Play with your pour temps a little more, but pouring them much cooler make the sides look funny. Let us know how it goes!
  17. Wow, that's really blue! Kind of a unique aspect of the candle but strange. Thanks for sharing the pic!
  18. Interesting, I haven't had this happen yet. Would you mind sharing a picture? I'd love to see it.
  19. I like it because i don't have to wait for it to get cool and slushy. It doesn't set up well if poured too cool, and it needs a warm room when making them. I can melt, mix in FO and color, then pour without much waiting. Around 160 or higher seems to be best for me.
  20. There's a lot of people here who use C3, some who like it and some who don't. Just depends on what you are looking for in a wax. There are other suppliers for it too, so you can shop around a little. Personally, I like it, but then I haven't tried anything else.
  21. Counting my candles to see what I need to make, maybe organizing the work area a little. Game at a friend's on Sunday, but it's SO cold I don't want to leave the house! Scented, light yourself a cold relief candle and feel better soon!
  22. Are the cracks in the wax or the glass?? I can't tell.
  23. My daughter's weight dropped into the tenth percentile while she was drinking soy milk(14-24mos). Once she was able to digest cow's milk, she jumped right back where she should be. I know other kids who had slow growth while drinking soy milk then fast growth when taken off. It's a good thing I nursed her or she'd have been on soy earlier.
  24. I don't think anyone's noticed them. They also reabsorb when back to normal temps.
