  1. Oh WOW. Your photography is fantastic! The only thing I'd do differently is with your tart melters. On the first one, at the bottom where the tea light is, I thought I was looking through the melter and there was a smudge on the wall. I didn't recognize the white wall was actually the tea light because the candle and the wall are the same color. I'd use a different color tea light. Cream would be nice. On the second picture of the melter, I'd just straighten up the tea light. It looks like it is sitting a little crooked to me. Your pictures are so nice and crisp and clear that I notice everything. They all look great.
  2. Hee-hee Stella. You've got me beat. I've had mine sitting in a basket in front of the fire place for only 5 years. They are a little dusty but fine.
  3. I think they look great! I really like them.
  4. I got that Email too. Soy beans are starting to go to the fuel industry now so there is less for the candle makers. It also mentioned that in the future, soy wax prices may be charged according to where the soy bean market is. I can see it now, it will be like the gas or gold prices. The cost depending on which day you buy.
  5. Well put and I feel the same way. I agree with what Lynn said too, "I also define success when I master something new." Success, for me, has little to do with money but more of an accomplishment of a job I do, and love, that is well done. But, money is good too!
  6. I don't see where charging two difference prices for two different types of candles would be a problem. YOU have to pay different prices for the waxes. Maybe explain to your customers the difference such as a speciality wax with a unique look and how you have to pay more for it. To me it's like paying differently for glass versus crystal. They are both pretty, shiny, clear and break. But lets face it, crystal is more expensive.
  7. That is so cool. I could never do anything like that. I love the detail on the wings!
  8. Thanks for the link. I don't sell anything yet but I bookmarked it for when I do. :highfive:
  9. Very pretty. I really like the color too. It looks cool and clean. Good job!
  10. Great pictures! Nice and crisp and clear. Your Honey did a good job.
  11. Beautiful colors! Reminds me of stone washed denim too.
  12. You could use a serger sewing machine to finish the edges. Or a decorative zig zag stitch on a regular sewing machine. Or use pinking shears or a zig zag type rotary cutter since fleece doesn't fray. You could also buy regular quilt binding and sew it on. You could also just make small cuts along the edges to look like fringe. I've never worked with fleece, so I'm sure others will have some better suggestions for you.
  13. That is so cute! Definately unisex.
  14. I don't know, cinnamon had been known to burn the skin. I'd be careful with that. You were talking about body shots weren't you???? Oh wait, you weren't talking about body shots...were you. :tiptoe:
  15. Jeff, your link didn't work for me. Was this it? http://www.simple-start.com/ Holy crap. The one I linked to is $199.00 Must be a different one. Your link is working now. Never mind
  16. I did a quick search here and found this link: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56071&highlight=polymer+clay I want get some clay to play around with too. I though I'd see if I could make a stamp or two with it. I'm going to get one of those cheap pasta machine things to soften up the clay though. My wrist is starting to bother me and I'm sure working with hard clay would really hurt it.
  17. Decoupage sounds like a great idea. You could even decoupage your logo or company name on the lid. Or the candle scent name. Since the candle won't be lit while the lid is on, I can't see where it would be a problem. I'd probably stop at the bottom edge of the lid and not go under it just to make sure the lid still screwed on. This place is full of such creative people!
  18. I don't know about the saltwater bath either but I've heard putting candles in the freezer helps them to drip less. It is supposed to help prevent tapers from dripping wax onto your table cloth. I don't know if it works or not. I always thought a drippy taper looked nice. Especially in Italian restaurants when they are in wine bottles with wax dripping down the bottle.
  19. I've heard 'dirt' is used by a lot of hunters but it is a FO and not an EO.
  20. Those are sooo pretty! That touch of blue really sets them apart. Very artistic.
  21. Your line, "Founder, Owner and Workhorse" made me smile. Ain't it the truth.
  22. Good idea. I just opened an account in "photobucket". If I find something I really like I'll put it in there.
  23. WSP has them http://www.bottlesandtops.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=300&CategoryName=Silver+Deep+Tins
