  1. Indy I had to heat my jars when I was using that wax, have you tried that yet? I know its an extra step but it seemed to help for me
  2. I would suggest a sample pack of both...When I started I bought every sample pack there was lol and now I know which ones I like and dislike. I use the LX the most so far but I am still testing, hopefully one of these years I will be happy
  3. I know I have a hard time with square jars myself. I use soy and learned from someone on here that an LX28 works and RRD50 or RRD55, also have you tried HTP1212
  4. I saw a site also that claimed ther wax is edible before you add the FO and color since it 100% soy, but I am with you who would want to
  5. For me the RRD don't get as big as a mushroom as the LX, but I still get it with both I am learning to live with it
  6. Ecosoya, I have tried C-3 and just couldn't wick it and didnt get a throw from it. I meant to get the ecosoya 135 but got the advanced and I like it
  7. I also used to use C-3 and had sink holes. For me I actually had to repour a 2nd pour and make relief holes when the candle was almost cooled then pour the 2nd top coat and that helped. You can also use a heat gun and zap it. I just found no matter what temp I poured I always got the sink holes by the wicks. Good luck and hopefully you will get a better answer then mine
  8. I have a spout on both of mine, I followed the directions that were given on here, very simple and easy. I fill it full of wax and the pour into the pouring what I need and add FO. When I am done and it is cooled I store the remaining wax with the presto lid on.
  9. not impressed at all with the FO I got from them. I also bought the premium ones and it just didn't give the throw at all
  10. a wick dipper various in style but it does just that...instead of blowing out the wick you dip it no smoke from dipping it. oh great idea on the baskets and wow on selling 70 dipped animals in 2 weeks
  11. what about candle warmers or wick snipper's or wick dipper's to go along with the contaier candles?
  12. I have never heard of them, would you mind posting their link?
  13. When I was using the C-3 wax CD wicks worked best for me, I was very successful though with the C-3 so I ended up switching wax and now I am on my 3rd switch and I am finally happy 18 months later. testing and candle making is not a cheap hobby lol
  14. yeah you will want to make sure the FO is for soy and also don't forget to let the candles cure a few days (the longer the better) before you light them
  15. I am not sure but glass is pretty flame/heat resistance since it got to that point from being melted down. I use the walmart votive holders for container candles, I am sure someone else will chime in that has a better answer. I would just look for cracks (small ect) at the yard sale ones
  16. welcome, I am a stay at home mom also and have been in the testing fase for a year, candle making is fun but it takes time and its not quick (for me anyway) to make a buck. I do have the LLC set up and the tax ID number but still no where near ready to sell, everyday I am a bit closer though. Best of luck to you and you have found a great board
  17. Oh a big congrats! It is so exciting to see the results you want after all the hard work.
  18. 2 thumbs up for this one, I was so shocked at how real the smell is. DH even said "Oh Wow smells like it was just squeezed"
  19. This is what I do also...the wax doesn't go into shock that way going onto a cold pour pot
  20. This is what I do also...the wax doesn't go into shock that way going onto a cold pour pot
  21. I just went there a few days ago and picked up some new wax to try so while I was there I couldn't resist to get some FO. Haven't tried the FO yet but dang they smelled good OOB
  22. I am in the process of testing this wax also and got some great wick recomaditions from jakalex so hopefully she will chime in also, she adviced me to try the LX 26 or 28 and also the RRD 50 or RRD 55. My jar is 4+ inches also and I am trying the RRD 50 and so far the melt pool is doing good. After a couple of hours the wick got a mushroom but I can learn to live with that since I have tested other waxes and was not able to single wick it Bestof luck to you
  23. Hey I am in the process of trying this wax also and when I picked it up they told me they heat it up to 190 and add color and FO then pour. I heated mine up to 180 and then poured into pour pot and added FO by the tie I poured it was about 160 and it set up real nice in the jars without pre heating them
