  1. Thank you all for your help. The only thing that changed was I have a new air purifier. It does move the air alot, maybe that was my problem. Thanks again.
  2. I am burning one now to see what happens. I was afraid they would tunnel right down the middle. Have you ever done a repour to fill it in?
  3. I should have added, not all the candles in the same batch have this sinking.
  4. I have had several batches of candles that are sinking around the wick, some are the size of a nickle. It does not happen with every batch. I use GB415 and have had this happen now out of 2 boxes. What causes this to happen? Can I use my heat gun to heat the top to fill it in? I have never had this to happen in the 3 years I have been making candles. I would appreciate any help. Thanks
  5. Yes, I used tabbed wicks, I waited until the wax had set up enough and pushed it down thru the top of the votive. They stayed straight but when they were completely solid the wax had covered the tab so I wasn't sure exactly where it was. I will heat the tab next, that seems like a much better way.
  6. I made votives for the first time yesterday. I did a search and found the answers to all the questions I had except for one, how do you fasten the wick to the candle. I used wick pins, that worked well. Do you fasten it by using the warning sticker? Or is there a better way? Thank you for any help.
  7. I have been searching for instructions on making soy fruit pies. Could anyone give me an idea where to look? Thanks for any help.
  8. Thank you, I am going to put up a sign for sure, also going to change jars. I have been using the 10oz Victorian. It is square and has the flat, clear surface that really shows the frosting. Thanks again, Nanny
  9. Thank you both. Islandgirl, does it usually come back right away? The space I have is all that is available to me, going to have to go with it. I hope the UV helps some.
  10. I am renting space in a retail store for my candles. I didn't go for 2 weeks, I was shocked when I got there and found really ugly candles. They were either faded or badly frosted, hard to tell. My space is right under a big fluorescent light. I took 3/4 of them home and have been melting them down in the oven, 150 degrees then cooling in the oven, they are coming out great, like they should look. My question is what I have left to do is one or two of all different fragrances, if I put them in the oven at the same time will they take on the fragrance of the other candles? So far I have just had the same fragrance in at a time. And should I melt them down more than once? I use GB 415 and am now using UV Protector. I will appreciate any help. Thanks
  11. Thank you for your replies, thank you Stella for your explanation. I will start looking.
  12. Thank you for your help. I have only used coconut oil, have you used it along with the other two? Does the USA help much with wet spots? That is what I am hoping for. I changed jars recently to the 10oz square Victorian jar. With the wide, flat sides any wet spots really show up. When I use the 8 or 12 oz jelly jars, I don't see wet spots.
  13. I am ready to use my turkey fryer for the first time. Also going to use the UV Stabilizer & Universal Soy Additive for the first time. The directions say to ad both when starting to melt the wax. I am planning to weigh the wax into the fryer, should I ad the two according to the weight of the wax into the fryer, or ad it as I take out the amount of melted wax that I am using? Thanks for any help I can get.
  14. Thank you for your replies, I am anixous to give it a try.
  15. I want to try a trukey fryer but not sure about it. I use GB415 wax and I ad the fo at 175 degrees. My question is does the temp drop much using the spigot to the pouring pot? Also does the spigot clog from the wax hardening when it is not heating? Thanks for any help.
