  1. very impressed...I know I have tried HTP's with my jar but I don't think I tried the 126...I am going to give it a shot thanks for the picture
  2. Well I can tell you that a square jar is hard to wick lol I started with C3 and have a 9oz square (not mason) and had no luck and tried all the CD's all the LX's ECO's, Paper, Zinc so I gave up for awhile lol Sorry not much help but I do hope you get it
  3. oh that is beautiful...I haven't been able to bring myself to even try a pillar lol still trying to get the container down
  4. I heat the wax up to about 175-180 in my presto, then I pour into my pouring pot that is warm then I add FO and pour into my heated containers. So I guess the temp is about the same as I heat my wax to when I add the FO
  5. FO's that I have tried are all samples from: the candle makers (ok), wellington (not impressed) Bittercreek (So so) taylored concept (ok) Natures garden (awesome out of bottle, good in candles just hasn't wowed me) and I am waiting on backwoods should be here by the weekend. I am using 8%, tried higher with BC and wellington and taylored and it just discolored my wax more and I couldn't smell that much difference. I have tried 6-7% and I can't smell it at all. So frustrated I am ready to give up lol
  6. HELP...I am currently using igi 4627 and am having a really hard time wicking it. The scent throw is so so at times. I started with the soy C-3 but really got no scent throw so that is why I changed to the 4627. I am now wondering about the 100% soy and the golden soy blend 444 from millcreek. Has anyone tried these. How was the scent and wicking? I am open to try any wax....so any suggestions would be great Thanks
  7. thanks Indygirl if I double wick the melt pool is perfect lol but I was trying to go for a single wick but if I can't get it in a few more tries I guess I will have to do double wicks
  8. I am using a wide jar as well 4.5-5" and also use 4627. Having a VERY hard time getting a melt pool. I have tried all the big ones including the zincs and am having no luck. The one wick I havent tried yet are the RRD's so that is my next step. But yes like you have tried the CD's LX's HTP's Paper, cotton zinc. Scent throw is okay. Havent had one really knock my socks off yet but then again i cant get it wicked right either
  9. I bought a postage one lol from office max...the only one I could find at the moment, only goes to #5lbs but I havent had to go over that so it works for me
  10. could it be that the wick is wrong and making it a hotter melt pool? I have ocean breeze right now that has turned a shade on me. Not sure if the wick is off or to much scent. It is 7% in comfort blend so it should be able to hold it. Sorry I am not much of a help here
  11. ummm I may just have to venture and do this now seeing all your nice things you have said about them, It looks good. Where did you get them from?
  12. wow giving you 2 thumbs up for the great pictures and instructions. I actually understood all of it lol Love the idea of securing them down cause I was wondering what would happen if you don't very smart idea. Thanks for the awesome thread/post
  13. you are only going to be able to had as much FO as your wax will hold. you will have to just read read read and then test test test to know for sure what works best for you. Just because its a bigger jar doesnt mean it will have a stronger scent because again your wax will only hold so much FO and then when you burn it and have to much that will effect your melt pool ect.
  14. that is neat. Is there any smoke that it gives off. Wondering what happens also when it gets to the bottom since it is not anchored in, very interesting can't wait to see the results
  15. wow that sounds wonderful and like you said it will give you someplace to start with their results. And then it would be back to more testing from their results. I have seen them while surfing, glad you posted about this, anxious to hear about your results with them
  16. how exciting, is it crakeling like I have read about? It would be so cool to be able to offer wood wicks in the candle
  17. Well I am now waiting for my 1st sample of NG's FO I am so excited I wish they were already here lol I am sure I will be flip flopping between many suppliers.
  18. yes hillary that is what I thought they just looked icky with the white wax. Tried with 7% FO and it wasn't as bad with some but still there. durning my testing the different wicks have different effects on how dark or big the discoloration is
  19. i was just on millcreek's site and noticed that they have sampler things for soy.
  20. I started with the c-3 and I liked how it looked smooth and what not but could never get a good scent throw even waiting a week to burn I am now using igi 4627 and like the throw it gives, having a hard time wicking though unless I double wick but prefer the single wick. Best of luck to you and just have fun....I forget the fun sometimes and get stressed over the wicking lol
  21. I get my 9oz square from here lol I couldn't think of the name at 1st so gave walmart so glad you gave the info.
  22. wallmart has the little square frosted ones..they are for votaives but I use them as container fill and hey no shipping cost
  23. Thanks again for the opinions, how about Wellington? Hubby got some from there and loves them I on the other hand wasn't all that impressed and think they are spendy. Anybody else tried them and what do you think of them?
