  1. Polypropylene bags is the most effective way to store them.
  2. Check out Bonjour Wax Company. She makes tarts and exclusively uses this wax.....she has a very successful business.
  3. Belinda have you had a chance to test any of your fragrances yet? I was looking into Wellington today and thought I would ask. Thanks!
  4. Montano is evil. Pure evil. They lie, cheat, steal, and even kill, on many different levels. It just doesn't get worse than who they are, what they are doing. Well maybe the only thing that is worse is they know exactly what they are doing and don't care.
  5. This is very true, as confirmed by my reserach too. The photos of the deforestation and displacement are devastating to see, confirming what is really going on half-a-world away. It's so easy to turn a blind eye to what WE are all doing, but we can personally and professionally make our choice heard by the way in which we decide to spend our money.
  6. At the time of posting, I clearly stated my reason for posting, as any half-educated person can see the shock factor in this article. I suggested it as information sharing only, as to why Lush made the decision they made for THEIR company. Yes, Lush has a flair for drama, but they have also done the research as to what is right for their company. In essence and since this may make been missed, my point in sharing was to suggest that all companies have different reasons for the direction and paths they take and it's important to find your own way as a business. I think it's goes unsaid that people should form their own opinions through well executed research and likely hearing out both sides (extreme or not) Is part of that.
  7. Oh yeah for sure. These idiots are all over Facebook and the Facebook Candle groups. No reserach, no testing. Up and making candles in 1 week. It could never be a quality product....but people on the buying end have no idea, typically.
  8. This is an article from Lush Cosmetics. They have removed palm oil from all of their products. This article may be of value in explaining why they have made this decision for their company. Like you, I have some of the same concerns. http://www.lushusa.com/Stories-Article?cid=article_palm-free-soap-base
  9. I haven't been able to get even an 1 hour throw from melts using 6006. It was purchased from Flaming Candle 2 separate times this year for my testing.
  10. Every time I have ever called a supplier (mostly RE) they give that same bull...."no other complaints."
  11. They were the best soy waxes I've tested. I still think I do better hot throw with all paraffin. These are suppose to be completely reformulated tho, so here's to hoping that can be as good as paraffin now :).
  12. I just noticed the waxes are now for sale on the site below, if y'all wanna jump. They offer small pages for testing. https://thecandlemakersstore.com/candle-making/candle-wax-and-gel/eco-soya-cbadvanced-wax.html
  13. Me too! I bet most suppliers do pick them up. The soy wax options out there are just not comparable to Ecosoya's soy, IMO.
  14. I think I'm going to do tha same! They didn't give a burn-time on the melts, just said that the hot throw was outstanding, especially on the softer waxes. This post mentioned that their pallets of all 3 waxes are on order (as of a week ago) and they expect them to deliver in August. They should be available to us sometime in August as well.
  15. Saw this one tonight on my candle Facebook group, although maybe it doesn't look as bad as the ones you posted.....those are plastic, yes, plastic oranges. I asked purposely. It's a scary thought how many people have no idea what they are doing.
  16. I've have been selling on Etsy for well over 5 years. It is true about the packaging as well as all other things I mentioned. I've heard over and over again that our customers feel like they are opening a present when they open something they buy from us. Our packaging is a big part of our branding and we drive home the handmade aspect of our business through the packaging itself, as well as through our thank you card and product and the product's details.
  17. I've been buying my 4630 from Flaming Candle and have not had any of these issues.
  18. Also reading the posts....this was most definitely done dry, with a Paintbrush. You can put micas directly into the mold before pouring, but that will not come anywhere near giving you this result, some will sick to the surface of the melts and some with end up in the wax. This is way too detailed to be done before pouring. Mica has no problem sticking to the wax, especially if the wax is a slightly softer style. But I've never had a problem with it even sticking to tart wax and my wax is hard. I've tried alcohol and it will work for one layer of color only. You wouldn't be able to build up the color like in the image, with using a wetting agent. Also do they have this exact mold at Flexible Molds, if you're looking for this leaf. Saw it yesterday.
  19. I have worked extensively with melts and mica. I fully believe this was done with mica. Glitter will in no way give you this effect. From what I can tell in the pic, I can count maybe 12 plus colors of mica. Think about it like a painting...creating depth. It was dry brushed on by color, building and building up each color, darkest to lightest. I think this can easily be achieved. I would suggest the following supplier for micas. You can buy in small amounts and therefore get lots of colors. The smallest size they offer would be plenty to do this. With mica a little goes a long way. https://howtomakecosmetics.com/
