  1. Lol, I have been lurking on this forum for a long time before I finally decided to stop being lazy and join, and yeah, a ton of my orders were inspired by you guys ? This forum is the reason I got addicted to Vanilla Voodoo
  2. I just realized that the way I worded my last reply was a bit confusing ! Let me clarify : The scents work great and have great throw in my melts and palm, but the GW 464 are still curing since the wax is so new to me Cold throw so far is pretty good already, on the 464, as far as the ones I've used. I expect that they will have good hot throw since I've had good luck with them in other waxes ! The Sweet Strawberry, the Peppermint Creme and Espresso have been particularly strong for me in the past
  3. I get way too carried away with blends, lol ! I do melts in the ecosoya blend, glass glow palm wax and just starting GW 464 so all of those are still curing
  4. This makes me sad.....Peak is where I always got my palm except for one time a couple of years back, when they were out of stock and I ordered somewhere else. I can't remember now who it was that I ordered from, but it was inferior in quality, I was really disappointed. It barely crystallized, and I always heat my jars and insulate them with palm Guess I have no choice but to try another supplier for it, but it is definitely a disappointment, I loved Peak.
  5. I second Cake Batter Ice Cream and Angel Food Cake. They are both great alone or as mixers. The Angel Food Cake is particularly awesome blended with blackberry or strawberry. Which brings me to two other recs for them, lol. Fresh Picked Blackberry and Sweet Strawberry. Their Birthday Cake oil is great. I like to make layer candles in their Dreamsicle and Banana, because their banana smells spot on like a banana Popsicle, that is what it should be called, I think ! So of you like banana popsicles, you should def check out their Banana oil. Steer clear of their Warm Vanilla Sugar and Pink Sugar. Idk what they were thinking but those two are not even in the same zip code as the originals. They both smell oddly similar too, like powder and strong musk. They were so bad, I tossed them both. And I got an 8 oz of the pink sugar ! Now, their VBN is the best I ever tried. I want to try their Hello Sugar type...but their other ' Sugar ' dupes make me not...the fact that they smell so similar makes me think that it is something very off with their Sugar note ? But other than that, WSP is my fave so far, aside from CC Edited to add : OMG, I need more coffee, how else could I forget these three oils ?!! Peppermint Cream, Espresso, and White Chocolate...all great blenders and amaaaazing together, especially around the holidays for a White Peppermint Mocha blend
  6. The Vanilla Buttercream is awesome, isn't it ?? I recently made a blend of that, WSP Angel Food Cake and Candle Source Pink Sugar and they all work sooooo well together
  7. At least it is something you already enjoy I'm sure that they have some great oils, I always loved their blueberry blends when I ordered their tarts
  8. You know, it's funny that you say that...I used to order bath and body stuff from a very popular etailer when she was open. She had a super popular Marshmallow blend and when I bought it, I thought ' Ummm this is just VBN ? ' Which is fine, I love VBN, but it wasn't a Marshmallow blend to me in any way, shape or form. It kind of makes me wonder if Front Porch sold back then and she used this oil ? It blew my mind that she would call it marshmallow anything, lol
  9. I wish that I could be more of a help to you on that, but I only have the Marshmallow Fluff and a coconut that has since been discontinued....I will say that both are top notch, though and I really need to order more from them in the near future
  10. Thank you so much !!! I loved the ombre jars so much, I only bought 4, but I al going back to get more soon ! Hopefully the have more left...totally kicking myself for only buying a few...
  11. I know exactly what you mean, sometimes reviews look too...generic, I guess ? And I definitely agree about reviews where people are given the products for free ! I always take those with a grain of salt
  12. Thank you so much !!! I didn't use a strawberries & cream oil, I used two oils...60% Daystar's Marshmallow Fluff and 40% WSP Sweet Strawberry and it came out VERY strawberries and cream, like if I sold, I would call that blend Strawberries and Cream, lol The Marshmallow Fluff is spot on, on it's own and in other blends ( sooo good with lemon or blood orange ) but Sweet Strawberry is such a strong scent, that the Marshmallow is just a sweet, creamy background when blended with it
  13. I am merely a hobbyist, so far, and my candles don't compare to the beauties that you all post but I figured, hey, no harm in posting anyway These are my fave few from my last two days. The Palm in the clear jar with lid is in Vanilla Voodoo ( I usually blend my own scents but VV is soooo good, I need it alone at times, lol ) The bluish palm in the clear to pink ombré jar is in Love Spell, it's for my sister in law, her fave scent. The soy is in a blend that I created today that made a to die for strawberries & cream scent ! It already has great cold throw, can't wait to cure & light it !
  14. Thank you, I will keep that in mind and pour slower next time I thought that I was but I sat here and thought it over, and my version of slow probably isn't really slow, lol... the hardest part of candle making, to me, is being patient. I suck at that. That is why cure time is the hardest thing on earth for me, lol !
  15. Thank you so much, you have no idea how helpful you have been ! This really helped to change my mindset
  16. Well I think that the combust into an uncontrollable fire is just part of my phobia, lol but....I see your point, and that actually made me feel better what you said about the soy ! I can see now that I am just really overthinking this and feeding the fear, so I will definitely be buying some parasoy in the near future ! Idk of you use it or not, but if so...do you have any suggestions on a brand / supplier ?
  17. Yes, I guess I have this fear that paraffin will ignite and cause a huge fire right as I melt it, which I know deep down, is ridiculous. I should have worded my actual question better ( or waited until I had coffee lol ) but I guess what I'm asking is, do I take parasoy out as soon as it's melted to avoid a fire ? Will it catch on fire if it is in a few seconds past that, or is that unfounded on my part ?
  18. Sorry for all of the questions lately, guys ! I've been really wanting to try a parasoy blend, but I have an unhealthy fear of paraffin for some reason ? i have always had a fear of fire...it used to be so bad that I couldn't even light a wick, no joke. So my fear is that even though I NEVER leave my wax while melting ( and I only use palm & soy so far ) that it will catch fire. I'm being irrational, right ? And also, canni safely melt parasoy in my presto ?
  19. I will definitely be dropping down to around 150, thank you guys so much for the replies !
  20. My favorites so far are Wholesale Supplies Plus and Candle Cocoon. The Candle Source is another one that I have had a lot of luck with, and they have great prices. I just ordered a couple of scents from Just Scent and they are very true and strong ! So I will be ordering there more in the near future
  21. Thank you for replying ! I did smooth out the tops today with heat and they look great now I heat to 185, 190.
  22. It is almost magical, lol...and it doesn't hurt that it throws strong in any wax that I use !
  23. Hi guys, I'm new to soy ( for containers anyway ) and I'm hoping you can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong.. i bought the GW 464 and the tops of most are on the rough side, and some have cracks near the wick / wicks. I have tried pouring a ton different temps, but I haven't poured lower than 140...should I pour lower ? Some have smooth tops and some that were poured af the same temp as the smooth tops are kind of s mess, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Other than the tops, the wax looks creamy, clean, and beautiful, and the cold throw is great on most even after one day, so I would like to work with this wax any suggestions or criticisms on what I could be doing wrong would be appreciated !
  24. I second the Vanilla Voodoo suggestion. It is unlike any other Vanilla I've ever tried...I'm kind of addicted to it, actually...sometimes I just take out the bottle just to sit there & inhale it, lol
  25. I did get my oils from The Candle Source a bit ago and mine are absolutely spot on ( Warm Vanilla Sugar and Fruit Loops ) so that was a relief. So I would still recommend them
