  1. Welcome ,I am a newbie too. I live in South,Tx & love the hummers .I keep my feeders full & enjoy watching them everyday. They have finally arrived & just beautiful little birds.
  2. It is sad to lose loved ones. I have been thru this the past couple of years myself. My prayers go out to her . I have been trying to replace some of the TCS oils myself. I have samples on the way of some of my favs. I loved their Blueberry cobbler ,Pumpkin pecan Waffles bbw type ,Tangerine Dreams & Salty Caramels bbw type. I also loved Peach magnolia Raspberry & Vanilla bean Noel . Moonstar is correct Aztec does have a great Blueberry cobbler ,just second best to TCS . I have also heard Candlewic has a wonderful Wild Maine blueberry ,think that's the name .I have been wanting to try this one myself. I order my wax from Candlewic , so may add to cart next time I order my wax, I do recommend Aztec blueberry cobbler
  3. You all have me curious with the Celebrate Christmas What are the scent notes ? I am looking for a good scent to call Downtown at Christmas & Christmas Country Store. Any suggestions ? Thank you kindly I have never ordered from Rustic.
  4. So far the ones I have purchased have been around a couple of years .I buy a lot of the BBW type scents & luckily they have stayed in stock. I love the introduction prices & always try to grab a pound ,if it is something I think I will use. I love the 5 for 5 deals they have monthly .I have way to many oils in stock myself. I always think I am going to find the time to get them in the wax LOL . I did purchase a pound of the Cinnamon sugar doughnut BBW type today along with a newly added scent called Autumn Delight. It sounded so good ,so hope it will be a keeper. I also like getting a free sample for every 8oz or larger bottle purchase. I am looking forward to my samples from Flaming ,FB, & North star on the Pumpkin pecan waffle bbw type. I hope I can finally find a replacement for the TCS. I want to try Indianna also , I have heard a lot of good reviews on this company.
  5. I will definitely try this one ,also another recent new Aztec oil is Autumn Delight , missed the intro price on this one but will be adding it to my cart as well. I read the scent notes & cannot pass this on by . I wanted to let you all know about the new ones. Thanks for all the recommendations & I will be placing orders from INDIANNA, FB, NG, & AZTEC of course. I have to try the BBW Cinnamon sugar doughnuts. I thought bakery fans need to hear about this one. I am hoping I find my new PPW & Salty Caramel BBW type. I appreciate the recommendations from you all .I feel blessed to be on board here
  6. News flash for you all . Aztec has a new fragrance oil. BBW TYPE CINNAMON SUGAR DOUGHTNUTS. Introduction special price $9 a pound.
  7. Moonshine , thank you kindly, I have not tried FB's , but will place a sample in my next order. TCS was the BBW type & was more creamy than salty unlike the Yankee type. I am going to miss TCS fragrance oils & hope to see someone buy the business & keep it going . They had some amazing fragrance oils. I love a lot of FB oils as well. The problem is I love so many from different suppliers & the shipping gets expensive. I also want to try NG sugar babies candy ,it is listed as NG Sea salted caramels. I appreciate your recommendation & will be placing my FB order tomorrow. I also want to try NORTH STAR . I noticed they have free ship on a sampler pack. If I remember correctly , it is $20 for 8 or 10 samples . I am hoping someone can give me some reviews on this company .The scents they carry sound very interesting & would love to have any information on this company. Thank you bunches & I look forward to sharing my results
  8. Belinda, I am looking for Salty Caramel BBW type .It is not the Yankee dupe ,it's the BBW one. TCS carried this amazing oil & now I cannot find one that even comes close. I will definitely keep looking . I am thinking the sugar baby from NG may be a good replacement. I am sure going to place a order & check it out. It is called NG Sea salted Caramel ,sounds wonderful. I will also try FB's VPM. Thank you for sharing
  9. Moonstar ,you are right .It is amazing how all our senses differ. I just cannot get that thought of beef jerkey out of my head LMAO . I may just have to give it try eventually. The Celebrate Christmas sounds interesting too. More oil ,more oil ,more oil LOL.
  10. Aztecs VPM was weak & very little throw for me. I will try FB & hope it is good and strong. These shipping charges can really add up LOL.
  11. Belinda, the NG sugar babies is called SEA SALTED CARAMELS. It is a sugar babies candy dupe. I thought it may be close enough to the TCS Salty caramel. I am going to place the order for it & the Tangerine Dreams you suggested. LOL seems these fragrance oils never end .I have way to many & still buying .I wish I had enough time to get all the oils I have purchased into the wax . I cannot remember if the reviews were good on the NG sugar babies ,but I am going to try it regardless. I may have to add some more caramel to it idk. I am willing to give this one a try to replace the TCS salty caramels ,it was a BBW dupe. I hope this one works out
  12. The Aztec oil does have that sweet note to it ,but I can detect the toasted note. I plan to add a splash of Candlesource Campfire to it & see if this will give it a bolder toasted smell. I have found some customers like the stronger toasted notes & some prefer lighter . I plan to carry both. I make wax melts & chuncks. Thank you for the Indianna Candle referral. I will definitely check this company out. I have always wanted to try their oils. I am needing the PPW replacement that TCS carried. I will also be placing a order with North star ,free ship with sampler pack of 10 . They have PPW BBW dupe so crossing my fingers on this one.
  13. Hello & I am a newbie. I was reading your threads & thought I would throw in my few cents worth. I ordered a fragrance called Campfire from The Candlesource &have not put it in the wax yet .I just wanted to say from the sniff this one definitely has a super strong Campfire aroma. I plan to blend a small amount with Aztecs Toasted Marshmallow. I will definitely use more of the marshmallow with just a splash of the Campfire & see what I end up with. I also ordered Fireside from Flaming & excited to test this one as well. I love the campfire & fireplace scents for fall. I feel very blessed to be able to share my wax adventures with the pros on this thread. I have been reading for a long time & decided to join I will definitely stay away from Bonfire Bliss .I miss the sale recently with Rustic . I was disappointed , but seems there is always a sale going on with so many suppliers .I want to try Northstar & Indianna, Thank you for letting me share .
  14. Thank you Jcandleattic for putting this in the correct section. I am new to the board & absolutely love being able to communicate with you all :). I put in a order for PPW at Flaming candle & waiting to compare ,keeping my fingers crossed for this one. I also found another PPW from Northstar ,never purchased from this company ,but getting desperate for a replacement . Do any of you have any input on Northstar fragrance oils? Thank you Belinda for the Natures Garden tip on the Tangerine Dreams . I will be placing a order from them as well. I did see NG has Sugar Babies dupe & may try this one for my Salty Caramel . I also browsed Candlescience & they have a salted caramel popcorn , just not sure if it would come close to the Salty Caramel TCS carried. I am going to miss TCS & hope someone will purchase her business & continue to sale those beloved fragrance oils. To stay on subject ,was wandering if anyone has found a great Pumpkin Marshmallow BBW type .I tried Aztec & no go ,very light throw in my paraffin wax. I will say I love their toasted marshmallow ,so may can blend my own .I may try a mix of Vanilla pumpkin pie & Toasted Marshmallow 1/2& 1/2 & see what happens. I am open for suggestions . I appreciate any thoughts on Northstar oils as well .They have free ship on 1 oz sampler packs .
  15. Hang in there & keep me posted on your decision. I am sticking with the blocks & chips
  16. I would say the dye is bad ,maybe old stock or something. I know my experience with the liquids were bad. I am going to stick with my blocks& chips. My dad used to tell me if it is not broke ,don't try to fix it lol. I guess if you really want to use the liquid dues ,try ordering from a different supplier .This one has me puzzled for sure. I am not sure if anyone else has had this issue ,if so hope they will chime in on our conversation. I wanted the liquid to work for me as well ,but honestly it did ruin a whole batch of wax for me.
  17. I have never added the dye to my fragrance oil ,that may be the issue. I would definitely recommend adding your dye first ,followed by your fragrance oil. I would advise add dye first & then your oil & see if that resolves to issue. If you don't mind me asking ,what wax blends do you use? I have tried many blends & always end up back to my Candlewic 129. I also use 4630/4625 blend on certain fragrance oils. I know I cannot get Love Spell to throw at all in the 129 ,but put it in the 4630/4625 blend & the neighbors can smell it It is so odd how some oils perform great in one wax & some do not. The wonderful fun of testing never ends. I am no pro but I would advise to add the dye followed by the oil & see if that helps. Please get back with me on the results .I am curious because I have just started using liquids & had issues. The only one that worked so far in liquid was yellow from CS & the fragrance was lemongrass .I did not notice any difference with that one at all. I am going back to my blocks because I hate to have wax ruined. I know it was the dye because I made more with the dye blocks same scent & no issues ,performed great. I still think this was your fragrance oil pooling at the bottom & not the dye ,but try my tip, see what happens. I look forward to your results .One more thing I have learned is a lot of oils with vanilla tend to pool at the bottom ,so be sure to keep the temp high 185 to 190 so it will bind to your wax .Good luck with everything
  18. Hello & I want to introduce myself to everyone. I make wax tarts ,chunks, cakes & unique wickless items. I am trying to find out if anyone can help me replace Tennessee Pumpkin pecan Waffle BBW ,Salty Caramel BBW type & Tangerine Dreams .This company has closed & my heart goes out to the owner. I have had a lot of family loss & it certainly is a emotional struggle . I do not want to get off subject ,just trying to find out if anyone has had any luck with these amazing fragrance oils. I used all 3 & these were so wonderful. I appreciate any help with trying to find replacements for them. I have tried TCS Salted Popcorn ,just not my beloved PPW or Salty caramel .I know both were BBW types & I have been looking for replacements with no luck . I hope to find these soon ,I love the wonderful performance of these 3 oils.Thank you kindly for any information you can give me on these replacements. The price of ship is way to high to buy from every supplier to try them all. Hope for someone to help assist me with this problem
  19. If you don't mind me asking .What temp are you adding your dye? I know I recently ordered some liquid dye & I am not happy with the results at all. I even think it ruined a whole batch of wax melts I made. I wanted to switch from blocks to liquid ,but think I will go back to my block & chips routine. I have never had a issue with them before. The liquid dyes I ordered were from Aztec & The Candlesource. I did not have a problem with the dye pooling in the bottom ,just my tarts had no throw when I used the liquid. i know sometimes I have a issue with oils pooling in the bottom ,but have learned to add at a higher temp 185 to 190 is good for me, especially with vanilla type scents. I am a newbie on this board & will say this site is full of wonderful learning experiences. I have been reading for 2 years here & decided to sign up. I hope someone with many years of expertise will kindly jump aboard to help you with this problem. I just thought I would put in my few cents worth on the subject. I will be going back to my blocks & chips .The liquid dyes are more expensive & I was so disappointed. I wanted them to work because they are much easier to use .It could be I did not purchase better quality idk. Hope to get some feedback on this subject myself.
  20. Thank you Belinda, sorry it took me so long to get back with you. I am going to try the 129 with some 4625 blend.I may go 50/50 or maybe 75 /25 and see what happens. I do have some candlesource wax and did not like the appearance,to bumpy on top and a bit to soft ,it crumbles too. The throw was good thou. I will try mixing a blend of 129 and CS wax as well. I will let you know which blend wins lol. I also read on here where someone mixed the CS wax with some pillar wax and had great results ,so here is us both a something to experiment with lol. This wax journey us something else ,you and I have the same problem, cannot seem to settle on a wax .I think we often judge our own melts to harshly .I am looking forward to trying the blends , always looking for something better longer lasting ,stronger etc lol. I think it is all about being addicted and a little obsessive compulsive behavior . I love this adventure and I thank you for your opinion and advice. I also want to make chunks with the 4630 and a tiny bit of 4625 ,love the throw of 4630 and duration if scent. I will keep you posted with my results.God Bless, Kathy
  21. It is a small world & yes I am sure we have crossed paths at Trade Days . I did not sell at Trade days ,just used to browse .I lived in Onalaska a couple of years ,so we used to go & look at all the goodies out there. My brother had kidney cancer & passed away in 2015 . He would come stay with us at the lake house with his wife & we would all go to Trade days. He loved life & was only 56 when he passed. I lost both my parents & my brother all in a 2 year time period. After all the tragic loss ,I got into the addictive wax adventure. I love wax melts & wanted to make my own ,so been pouring a couple of years now. I have 2 brothers left ,along with my hubby ,adult children & 3 grandkids. I had to find something to do with my time ,the loss was so hard & all 3 so close together . We were all very close. I keep my faith in God always .My mom always told me God has his plans for us all & never doubt this. I went thru a severe depression for a long time . I am much better & love staying busy with my wax projects. Well back to the subject I started , wax blends. I did add 25% 4625 to the 129 , turned out better. I was thinking about trying a blend of 129 & 4630 .Do you think maybe 50/50 would make a good tart with bakery scents? I love 4630 wax , but like you hate the smudges on the bags. I want to make chunks & will be using the 4630 & maybe a little bit of 4625 added for the chunk melts. I have to be able to slice the chunks ,so cannot add to much 4625 ,maybe 25% would be ok. I love 129 for the tarts in silicone molds , just have such a problem with the bakery scents. I weighed 12oz. 129 & 4 oz. of 4625 ,heated wax to 190 & added my oil. I used sugar cookie Tennessee ,tarts did turn out better. The appearance was much better & the throw was good .I do think the duration time depends on the fragrance oil. I think I will try 50-50 129 & 4630 just to see what happens. I have a pound of Vanilla shortbread cookie ,so really trying to get a good throw with this one. I appreciate your advice & love to learn all I can about wax. I have used soy 415 & blended with 4630 a long while back ,but do not like the cure time. I did have great results with the sugar cookie ,just do not have a weeks worth of patience lol. I may end up with the 4630 & 4625 blend due to shipping cost from Candlwic to Tx is so costly. I can get the others at a much lower cost from a different supplier. I just hate to give up the 129 ,love the wax , just wanted some cosmetic improvements. It does have the sink ,but adding some 4625 did improve the looks a lot. I often wonder if others have settled on their wax ,or do they keep experimenting with blends. I have tested so many .I sounds like you are happy with your blend . I feel blessed to have a neighbor like you to join me in this wax journey. Thank you Belinda ,God Bless .
  22. Thanks Belinda, I will try adding some 4625 to my 129. Do you think 25% will do it ,or should I do 50/50 ?Any suggestions to make a longer lasting melt would be helpful. The 129 makes a super strong melt , just does not last as long as I would like. I appreciate your advice. I will be glad when I can be satisfied 100% with my melts. I have alot of oils accumulated, such a addiction lol. You have been so kind and I thank you. I am crossing my fingers the 4625 will do the trick. Members please chime in if you have any suggestions on a wax to blend with CW cbl 129. Wax melts.
  23. I am in a small town called Ganado ,near Victoria.I am about 30 minutes from Port Lavaca near the gulf waters.I grew up in Houston and very familiar with Cleveland. We had a lake house in Onalaska and recently sold it to move back home here in the South. My mom grew up in Teneha and she had a huge family. We really are neighbors lol.My Dad lived in Cypress so very close to Cleveland.I used to go to the Trade days in Livingston before I moved home. Well glad to meet you ? Belinda. The wax world will certainly keep a person busy.I find it is addictive and fun.I do know the 129 has some bright white wax mixed in it ,not it would be IGI or not ,would love to know.I could save on shipping cost if it were 4625 .CandlewickI ship cost to me is sky high.I usually wait for shipping sale code & buy 100 lbs at a time ,due to shipping is killer on the pocketbook.I love the 129 for the most part ,but would switch if I could find another wax I liked as well as the 129. It probably performs well ,except for some scents just will not perform. I will try mixing some 4625 in with it and see what happens. The bakery scents give me a problem with this wax the most. Thanks for your advice.I was hoping some more venders would chime in on this issue.I love learning about wax and making tarts.Thank you bunches,Kathy
  24. Wow thanks Belinda for the feedback. I have had oils remain in bottom as well. I think I tried adding around 188 some bakery scents to help the oil bind & it helped . I just have trouble with some scents not working with my 129. I purchased a 1 lb. Bottle of Vanilla Shortbread cookie CW ,I think that's the name,or something like it lol.Love the smell OOB , but no throw in the 129. I added oil at 180 , love the scent so may try different combo wax. I was thinking about cbl 141 Candlewick for melts as well. I had read good reviews on this votive pillar blend . I could try adding some 4630 to my 129 or 141 ,may get a good throw with this scent. I purchased so much and love it OOB. Hope some chime in on the 141 wax for melts. I will blend some 4625 with my 129 or 4630 and let you know my results with the Shortbread from Candlewic.Today I see they have a Anisette Cookie on sale, shipping is so high for me to South,Tx from CW , but I do have to order the 129 and may try the 141 on my next order. If anyone has used the 141 hope to see some feedback results for tart melts. Your so fast with response and very helpful. Thanks to you and everyone who can give me advice with the 129 and 141 CW wax. I love making melts and want to start chunks soon. You have been a great help .
