  1. I personally do not fill in the dip.
  2. I don't know what the glassine liner is, but I do know that you are safe with the polypropylene liner.
  3. Found this explanation on zinc wicks on Taylored Concepts website: This wick has a cotton outer braid surrounding a thin filament of zinc. Zinc core wicks product the coolest flame and offer the most rigidity of all cored wicks, providing support during pouring and burning. What do the wick numbers mean? The first set of numbers is the thickness of the wick, the larger the number, the thicker the wick. The second set of numbers is the speed at which the string goes through the wicking machine gear, the faster it goes through, the tighter the wick and the slower the burn. The third set of numbers is the code for the temperature of the Wax as the wick goes through the various gears.
  4. I like the glass one best...and agree on using both.
  5. I apologize for posting Sugar Creek website. I never ordered from them..just had the site saved in my favorites from a long time ago.
  6. Try this site: http://www.sugarcreekcrates.com/new_page_2.htm
  7. When I used J223 in that particular jar, the 51z worked well for me. That may be a good starting off point with your parasoy blend.
  8. I like CBL 141 from Candlewic in PA. Don't know where you live, but it will serve you well to find a supplier closest to you (to save on shipping costs) and do some research on the waxes they offer.
  9. Just google Wax Jack (images) and you will see what they look like......very interesting indeed!
  10. I have been using CBL141 pillar/votive wax for years and love it. I switched from J223 to CBL125 about a year ago and find the hot/cold throw as well as appearance to be right on par with J223...maybe a bit better. I use zinc wicks and they work great with the 125 wax. When Candlewic has a sale on their own blends it makes it even sweeter!
  11. I have great results with 51z in the 8oz mason as CandyBee also stated.
  12. Bakery scents are my favorite. I only use paraffin and have great success with them in this medium.
  13. You may want to check this site out...it tells you how you can install a spigot on your presto pot for easy wax transfer into your pouring pot. http://www.candlecauldron.com/prestopot.html
  14. Wow...I bet you do some business during your open house! Very nice set up Barbara! Your hard work is sure to pay off. What part of NJ are you in? I live in Bridgewater (Somerset County).
  15. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.tayloredconcepts.com/accessories.htm Scroll down to the bottom and on the right side they have a list of adhesive seals.
  16. I have a single electric burner and use an old sauce pan (pot) with a little water in it to act as a double boiler. I keep my pour pot in the heated water, add the wax from the presto pot, then add my dye and fragrance oil. You can put your big glass measuring cup in it as well to keep it heated.

  20. Ok....I was searching like crazy....these ARE hard to find! I did however find a site that has 1 1/4 inch rusty tin moons. They appear to be updating their product links...but if you click on the yellow box that says 'Order online or click here for order form' you will find their phone number at the bottom of the order form. Here is the link...and scroll down to item #33. That is where the rusty moons are listed. http://www.tole-expressions.com/supplies/surfaces/rusty_tin.html Good luck!
