  1. Barncat...I pm'd you back. Belinda and Moonshine...thanks!! I will try them both.
  2. Hi all, I used to buy my favorite French Vanilla from Kathy at Willow Woods Candle Supply way back when she was healthy enough to keep her business open. She has MS and has since closed her business (a couple of years ago). She may have passed away...I certainly hope not. My favorite all time scent was her French Vanilla....nothing around has compared to it. I think I have tried every known supplier! I have one pound of it left. Once it is gone, it is gone forever....unless there is a way for me to have it duped. Would this be legal? And how would I go about the process? And would I have to have a huge amount duped? I am small time.....and do not need barrels of the fragrance! Thanks for any help...suggestions... Barbara
  3. Taken from Candle Science website: What is flashpoint? The flashpoint is the temperature at which a fragrance can combust if exposed to open flame or spark. Adding fragrance oil to wax that is above the flashpoint will not cause it to combust. With fragrance at room temperature and no flame there is no cause for concern
  4. I too have used Peaks with no problems
  5. I use spoons (wooden ones) and wipe them just like Belinda said. As soon as you are done stirring, wipe that sucker with a paper towel or any type of cloth and you can use it for all your batches that follow. I have the same spoons for years!
  6. Thanks Tam1116! I just checked out Flexible Molds ...the baseball one is great...but was hoping for an actual size one. I may have to settle for mini.
  7. Hi. Has anyone seen a silicone mold that is of a baseball? I have searched high and low and can't seem to find one. I would pay to have one made if anyone can suggest a reputable moid maker! TIA Barbara
  8. Since hubby was in the Army for 25 years I feel confident suggesting brown, beige, deep olive, and lighter sage green for the camoflage.
  9. PaperMart has them as well.... http://www.papermart.com/seamless-square-tin-cans/id=20996#20996
  10. Not much for the money....IMO I bought two....just to see the whole concept...have yet to melt them. Anyway, the Apple Brown Betty weighs 3.9 oz. The Buttercream Snickerdoodle weighed in at 3.7oz. I paid the 7.99 each and then 5 dollars for their basic shipping (which was actually UPS).
  11. Fabulous!! Thanks to you, the "sweet poster" and your excel wizard hubby!
  12. Papermart.com has some for about the same price.
  13. Take a look here.. http://www.frenchhillcountry.com/
  14. Hey Terry....if u don't mind my asking, what town are you from on Long Island? I am from Lynbrook!
  15. Looks perfect Karen! Best purchase besides a heat gun and presto pot!
  16. Karen...I am Ms Clutz personified. I wear a heavy duty apron...it was meant for BBQ-ing. It is kind of a soft canvas material...kind of like a dropcloth. I would think that the type the workers wear in Home Depot or Lowes would be comparable. Just get something heavy duty so the wax splatters won't soak through. I am far from "petite" and most aprons will fit everyone!
  17. Thanks to all that responded. My niece now wants straight lavender so I have Peaks. Although I will be using very little per pound as it is waaaaay strong! Thanks again.
  18. Thanks LeahRB. I just may go with the lavender vanilla.
  19. I am making 100+ votives as wedding favors for my niece's wedding. I am trying to find a smooth lavender....not the (sometimes overpowering) strictly lavender scent. :undecided Has anyone tried Lavender Mist from AH/RE? TIA!
