I am overly ANNOYED with this whole situation !! My personal Discover was hacked in February, the card number was shut down and another card number issued. I had my new card number less than a month and found out that one has been hacked too . I got a notice in the mail that someone CALLED Discover imposturing as me transfering 2 Chase account balances to my NEW card number. Needless to say, that card number again has been shut down with yet another issued. This is serious folks . . .watch your accounts closely !

Having looked at the list, I'm convinced that this is not one of our suppliers that got hacked, but one of the payment processors. There is no "smoking gun" or common link amongst all of us.

I was thinking that maybe this could be an inside job?? I'm not one of the people to have been hit by this......yet anyway. I don't know if it was on this thread or under one of the others about this, but, I remember someone posting that they were hacked and gotten a new card and hadn't even gotten the new card yet and it was hacked. Now someone else has been hit with their new card only using it at usps. Wondering if someone on the inside is selling off numbers or if maybe they have been hacked. Is there a common link there? Maybe it's all MC's, Discovers etc. or the banks are the same (Bank of America, Chase etc.) or some other common link??? This is getting to wide spread to just be a coincedence.

I joined facebook but don't go there regularly. About a month ago someone that I know sent me a link to play a game. I "talk" with this person in emails so thought it strange all of a sudden she would send me to a game page so I did not click on it. I forgot to ask her IF she actually sent it to me...will have to check with her.

Most places where you play games ask you for a username and a password. So I guess nothing online is safe now.

My hubby was getting emails from someone at Chase saying he had to change his profile or as of a specific date he wouldn't be able to get into our accounts. Well...the date passed and he could still get into them. There was a link in the email that "supposedly" took you to the page where you completed a new profile. He called Chase because we WERE closing an account and also got a new VISA account through our credit union. He told me he mentioned this to whoever he spoke to in customer service. But he was at work and didn't have the emails that came here to the house.

Yes, but the cc I did not use at CS are fine, my paypal account is fine, my bank accounts are fine and my computer is fine.

Only my business Discover and MasterCard numbers were stolen the only thing these 2 cards have in common is that they were both used to buy candle supply with the Discover card only used at JS, CS and SKS.

I know it is not SKS because I have used the my new MasterCard there since the problems started.

But speaking of coincidence according to the list in this thread 33 people were victim of credit card fraud. 13 did not specify were they had used their cards but out of 20 who listed what suppliers they had used their card at 16 used it at CS.

That's a pretty big coincidence.

My AmEx card that was hacked has a totally unique user name and password, different email address, etc than my facebook page.

After looking over the list I did notice that CS & Peaks were on many lists. I did realize that the last order I placed with it was my very first order with Peaks. Could be a coincidence but it was an observation that I made. Either way...NOT amused. I did have to order some supplies today but I made sure to pay via my paypal account because all I have right now is my debit card because my new AmEx hasn't come in yet. Hopefully that will be enough to protect me for now since the vendor never sees the card # that way.

Good for you, I am sure that whatever the problem was it has been taken care of but I am not willing to take anymore chances with my credit cards.

I have nothing against CS their FO are very good but from now on I am only going to use vendors who accept Paypal.

I am one of those that did not post what suppliers I have used......to numerous to mention all of them. I have been using this card for over 8 years, so lots of suppliers in that time. But yep, CS is one. It is all so complicated because we don't know WHEN to start searching. You know narrow it down a bit, like between two weeks or even a month. But it sure looks like it has SOMETHING to do with our spending habits on this board.

Has anyone ever gotten ahold of that Fraud Dept mentioned earlier? I still can't get through, 2 weeks later! I wanted to talk to them in person about all this not just report the fraudulent activity on MY cc.

Dana do you mean credit bureau?

We have Lifelock to protect our identity meaning that if someone goes and apply for a new credit card, loan or anything like that it gets held until Lifelock contacts us to make sure it is legit.

They also montor activity on you driver's license and send you credit report from the 3 credit bureau.

As for the existing credit cards this is a matter for the bank who issued the credit card.

I know you can put a fraud alert on your account by contacting the credit bureau but I think it is only good for 3 months?

Most credit card companies offer a one-time-use credit card number for online purchases.

At Citi they also have a virtual account number thing which not only generates a "disguised' number, but you can control easily as to how much can be spent, etc.

That is exactly what I am doing now. It lets you set a limit for that number and you can reuse it at the same vendor, BUT if someone hacks and tries to use it somewhere else, then it will be denied. I will also be able to tell which supplier was hacked when that number gets flagged!!! So now I have "disguised" numbers for each supplier I use.

So bring it on Hackers!!! LMAO We are going to snag you!!!

24. lovemylabs - 3/8 $1080.00 ... mine is a Visa Debit . Purchases use w/my card were from Nordstrom/Cedar Rapids, an AutoParts store/CA and Lobstergram (REALLY!?). I've used it recently for Peaks, Paypal, WSP, NG and CS

25. mzpickles - MC debit, attempted purchase Street-Feet.com (in the UK!!) last Tuesday or Wednesday. Bank caught it though. I haven't ordered any candle supplies in at least a month or 6 weeks, but it might be easier for me to list who I haven't ordered from in the last year.

26 - Beans . Last used at CS on 2-28. fraudulent activity on 3-1 ,3-5 , 3-6 all were in UK. I really feel strongly that mine was stolen at that CS transaction.
