  1. I used these racks: http://www.storesupply.com/pc-12690-850-spinner-rack-4-tier-wire-63-12h-60108.aspx I loved them because they were cheap and durable. The other thing I liked about this model was that when I did small shows that I only had 1 table sized space I could use just one pole and use it as a table top rack. I was able to store them in oversized reusable shopping bags I bought at TJ Maxx. I loved it because I could hang them on a hook on the wall up & out of the way until I needed them and could throw the bag over my shoulder to carry while holding something else.
  2. I had better luck double wicking that jar with ECO wicks. I get a higher burn when first lit but it settles down quickly.
  3. I often add a 5% off code on the bottom of the show date cards. They need to present the card at any of those shows to get the discount. You'd be surprised how many come back!
  4. I use card stock in mine all the time. I just have to use the multipurpose tray to print anything other than regular weight paper.
  5. The no descriptions have always bugged me along with them not being labeled skin safe or not but as others have said the owners are very helpful and respond to questions quickly. I have gotten a few over the years that are very strong. One that jumps into my head was Strawberry Margarita. I can't think of which others I have used right now.
  6. I have an old Oki C5200 that I absolutely love (workhorse, reliable, good color & reasonably priced toner) but I think alot has to do with what you can find at a reasonable price and has reasonably priced toner. I would say check your local office supply stores to see what they offer and check prices for the replacement toners (I ALWAYS buy the high yield cartridges. They may be more up front but they last way longer & in the long run cost less per page). Once you see what is available check CNet.com for reviews on each available and make the best decision you can based on price & reviews.
  7. I can't keep Pink Sugar, Coconut Lime (BCS) or Key Lime (BCN) in stock.
  8. I use vinegar & water to clean with all the time. You could add a little to it. Another thing you could add a little to is baking soda. I use it to clean my kitchen & bath sinks as well as the tub. Works great and makes the drains smell better. Makes my white porcelain sink cleaner than even straight bleach with a little scrubbing but without the effects of bleach.
  9. I have to say that while the printer and cartridges are more expensive to purchase the laser printer will save you TONS of $$ in the long run. I have an OKI (C5200n) that I bought 4-5yrs ago for $300 at Staples on clearance. I have replaced each cartridge about 1x a year ($60-100 each for the high yield cartridges) and one set of drums ($100 ea) and print more than the average because we run my business and my husband's out of the house. While it was out for cleaning/service this past fall I had to use our HP Officejet 4500 all in one inkjet that we have to use the copy/fax feature and as a backup color printer for my business. In 1 month I used almost $200 in ink printing just my labels and signage for my fall shows and orders (he used our black laser printer - he owns an IT company so we have LOTS of equipment!) and I had some labels smudge (doesn't ever happen with the color laser). The laser printer also prints more crisply and with truer colors than our current or past ink jet. In my opinion if you have the $ to invest in the color laser it wouldn't even be a choice between ink jet or laser....it would be laser all the way! Staples has an OKI on sale/special buy for $299 right now.
  10. Most of my sales are cash too. I do not accept checks (yes I've had a couple bounce - from people I know too!) but do use Square. I use one of those little aprons that waitresses use. I bought mine on ebay but I think you may be able to get them at the craft store too. I don't like cash boxes anymore because I don't have to worry about keeping an eye on it because the apron is attached to me. Much more secure IMO.
  11. check with your local computer/IT companies too. I took a beginner QB class at a company that also does MS Office classes. It was very good and fairly inexpensive. Well worth the $ when I was first starting to use it and didn't understand anything.
  12. I don't know if this is the correct way to do it or not but it works for me. We use Square as our credit card processor. I set up Square as a vendor then when I apply the payment to the customer I automatically enter an invoice under Square for the fees and "pay" it as an automatic payment to get it into the system. I just have to clear both the payment and the fees when I reconsile the checking account. Our accountant hasn't told me not to do it this way and everything matches up at the end of the month so it seems all good so far. We are using Quickbooks Premier because that is what hubby needs for his consulting business but I am guessing that you should be able to do that in all versions.
  13. I am driving distance to them too but have only tried a few scents a long time ago when I did only candles because I don't have time to check with him on every scent to see if it is body safe so I just didn't bother going forward. The one I do remember being really good was strawberry margarita. That was YUMMY! If he would just do something to designate which are body safe I would have totally ordered more from him (put an "*" next to the body safe ones on the list!) because they have Saturday AM hours and it would have been worth the ride for me to save the shipping. He does get the shipments out lightening fast. I have ordered other supplies mid afternoon and had them the next day (I live in the same state). The one thing I have noticed is that for some reason his stuff is slightly cheaper on ebay. If I need only one thing I usually go that route because it saves me a little $ but he doesn't always have everything listed on ebay. If you are ordering you may want to check it both ways.
  14. Turkish Hazelnut & Ginger Appletini are both strong and YUMMY!! They were closeout scents that everyone begged enough that they were brought back for the regular line. I know those 2 our among my "favorites" so as soon as they were out of stock whatever I had left was moved to my stash for personal use only and I was VERY sad when I finally ran out. Ironically I was on my last candle or bar of soap on both scents when Rich brought them back. "Happy Girl!!"Even though I am winding things down with my business I had to buy some for my personal stash anyway...shh hubby doesn't know LOL
