lightmyfire Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 I can't believe how long I lived without this handy dandy cutter-I was using a large knife before and it was a hassle to handle with my 6006 wax. Simple pleasures in life 2 Quote
iansmommaya Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 A bench scraper! Totally a great tool for all kinds of things! 1 Quote
kandlekrazy Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Oh yeah, definitely need that in your box of wax/soap making tools! I use it to cut m&p soap as well. 1 Quote
ellajoan Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Love mine. Use it all over the house, as well! Great for getting wax spills off your floors, too. 1 Quote
Jcandleattic Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 It's the best isn't it? I've been using mine with my soft wax for almost a decade now. It's awesome... 2 Quote

Pam W Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Hey, wax is not the only use for this tool...............my son uses one to cut his dough mixture into appropriate sizes when making tortillas.........SO, EVERY KITCHEN SHOULD HAVE ONE :-) Quote
Pam W Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 and to add.......NO you are not the last to know.....this hobby (candle making) is an ongoing process beginning from buying the wax to lighting the wick. And along the way of this journey, we pick up on things that help us along the way. I joined this forum way back in 2005(?) and have not stopped learning little tricks of the trade as I venture thru the realm of candle making. 3 Quote
Forrest Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 I cut my 6006 with a butter knife, but I may need one of those when winter sets in. Quote

It is all about what works for each of us....and that does take time to figure out. The last case of 4630 I order from a supplier arrived in a form that royally ticked me off....there was no paper between each of the slabs so in order to use the wax, I had to just cut into the case.........personally, I prefer having a pre-measured slab to work with but in this instance, that wasn't an option. So I used a tool similar to the one that you posted to cut my wax into the amts that I need to use for each project. Hey, whatever it takes to make your journey easier..........kwim. 1 Quote
