Trappeur Posted October 2, 2016 Share Posted October 2, 2016 Well I finally tested Frasier Fir from WSP and also Frasier Fir from Candle Science. My honest true opinion on both is they are twins.....Scent throw when I lit for both was awesome. Within 10 minutes they were both putting out. If they aren't twins, they are damn close. The one from Candle Science might be a tad bit more sharper...maybe.....not enough to make any difference if any.....For the price, definitely going with Candle Science........I give them both a 9 for duplicating the Thymes Frasier Fir. Trappeur Posted October 2, 2016 Author Share Posted October 2, 2016 I also meant to say, not giving myself a pat on the back or anything, but I consider myself to have a pretty good judgement on pines, because I love love them and I think I've tested just about every pine out there and really do know what all sorts of pines smell like and what I'm looking for. I've got just a handful that I use all the time and they are all different from one another. Each one is beautiful in their own way. Your right about the Thymes candle having a softer scent but as close as they both are, I still lean towards the WSP - Doesn't hurt that I bought a large bottle either lol !!!! What I think I'll do though is since they are so close is I'll use my CS for my wax melts since its much cheaper + use the WSP for my vintage candle containers + room sprays Did you burn the VBN yet ? Now you do know we all depend on you for your most accurate and dependable posts lol ! Honestly, I can hardly wait for one of your review posts LOL ! I do love CS Frasier Fir, I've never tried WSP's. I have had many good ones (some discontinued now which is sad). I just do not like the ones that smell like cleaning products or like fuel. I'm so bad at picking out "notes" in a blend and am equally bad at distinguishing one pine from another. Maybe I need to get out with Mother Nature more. I love the CS version, and that's what I'll be using since I bought a lot of it. I never knew that Fillmore's Christmas Tree was a true Maine Balsam - who knew ?? lol ! CS: Blue Spruce Bittercreek: Northwoods Christmas Community Candle: Christmas Tree Fillmore: Christmas Tree (Is a balsam) CS: Frasier Fir (Now that it's tested) I love.... Not exactly the same, but quite similar. Definitely will try frasier fir and mistletoe (thank you bfroberts!). Just disgusting......Candle Science used to have a scent called "Scotch Pine" that I just loved also...Guess it wasn't a good seller, but I loved and that one was a different one too. I think I've read so many others said they love Elements rocky pine. Just for the heck of it, maybe I might give that one a try one day....Now so many love Peaks rocky pine and I tried it and it wasn't something I would write home about...funny how we all smell things differently. I need to get more of the CS Frasier Fir- I mixed it with CS Driftwood and i feel like it toned it down a bit ( Driftwood -Top: Sandalwood, patchouliMiddle: Cedarwood, musk Base: Vanilla, clove). It was probably the little bit of vanilla in the Driftwood that took some of the sharpness out. I did 2/3 frasier fir and 1/3 driftwood and and it was a really nice combo. said it on another thread but i am going to call it Seaside Holiday, when i burned my testers I mostly smelled the Frasier fir, but the driftwood added some really interesting notes i might need to bump the Driftwood up a tad so that its not too close to the straight Frasier Fir which i plan to make candles of.
