Candybee
I'm having one of those weeks. I just don't feel like making soap but I know I have to. I have 2 big orders coming up and they will wipe out a huge chunk of my stock so I have to keep up. Problem is, I am having one of those weeks I just don't feel like making any! Instead, I have been catching up on my yardwork and planting spring flowers and loving it! (Normally I hate yardwork and just do what needs to get done!) So in a way, the yardwork is working like a vacation.
chuck_35550
Amen sister! There's a part of me that says I need to get down there and do some work but the sunshine and the spring get in the way. Being on the treadmill is my problem. Even a hamster likes a rest on occasion.
pixie
Yes, I get to feeling the same way so take 3 straight months off every year.
Sonoma Roses
I would enjoy the weather and give myself a few days off, if you can force yourself to measure out the oils in the evening then you will be ready to soap when you are more inspired. I understand that you have to make it, but I do so much better when I am not dreading it!
Candybee
Exactly! I don't like to make soap unless I am 100% focused on what I am doing. Since most of the week is gone anyway I just decided to wait until next week. Tomorrow I have to restock, label, and load soaps and supplies into the car for my Saturday market. I had a lovely day planting, weeding, feeding, and doing more gardening things! Its like a tonic. I am feeling rejuvenated!
kandlekrazy
It's so nice to get a break from whatever you do on a daily basis. Glad to hear you got to enjoy time in the garden, it has a way of healing the soul.
Jcandleattic
When I'm making and feel I HAVE to make for shows, or restocks, or whatever, that's when I am not very inspired to do it and have a hard time focusing. So yeah, know what you mean. The weather here the last 2 weeks or so have been fabulous! True springtime weather that we really haven't seen for more than a few days here and there for about 10 years, so I've really been enjoying it. Love it. 7 Pawz
When something you enjoy doing becomes a chore its time to take a break. You won't enjoy your soaping as much if you feel like you "need" to do it , you'll know when your ready to get back to it. It might help to gather your ingrediants slowlly, put it all together a little at the time, I've done it that way when I felt like that, but its still gonna be there, so just wait to enjoy it when your ready
TallTayl
I get tired of melting the pails of organic palm and blocks of cocoa and shea to stir and master batch. By extension i get sick of making soap before i even start. Once i force myself to start making the actual soap it's a breeze. I just have to talk myself into starting.

For me, it's more the preparation and clean up, that I get tired of, not the actual making. If I had someone to make my masterbatch when needed, or do up my dishes after every soaping session, I'd probably make a LOT more soap...
