Got a sample of this from Peak with last order and just sniffed oob - think I'm going to be adding yet another scent to my already too long a list! Going to test it tomorrow, but I'm thinking about adding a splash of coconut milk to it... has anyone done this? Thoughts? With only an ounce to test, I don't want to ruin it...

I get little one ounce bottles from NG with lids that also fit my 2oz & 4oz bottles. I give samples when someone orders say several soaps or soap and body butter etc - probably about 50% of the time they end getting some lotion with their next order as well. They've been worth it to me, but like it's been said - I haven't set any out in a retail situation because of the same reasons expressed. I have however given some to the retailer to keep behind the counter and give out when appropriate. This has also resulted in lotion sales for me. just my thoughts...

Yes, I have some of the first ones on the shelf to see, but so far so good - I was just wondering if others had an estimate so I'd have a clue. We'll just see how it goes!

I agree with Karen - the type of wax will have an influence... I use 4625/4630 and love Peak's Cinnamon Buns. -
What would you say the shelf life of Bath Bombs is? I only started making them this year and am curious because it would be so much easier if I could make larger batches, but am worried about how long they can sit and still perform correctly... TIA

I'm with Chefmom - not a good idea - for reasons she mentions plus you speak of keeping the wax on direct heat - another bad idea. If the temp isn't constantly monitored, it could get to hot and start a fire. Surely there is something different you could do short of using hot wax, especially since you are inexperienced with it.

You can also just use metal tape to wick your pillars. put the wick through the hole with about an inch on the outside and use the metal tape to tape it down, covering the hole as well. Then just put your wick in a wick bar and pour. Easy. Just be sure you get high temp tape - otherwise it will come loose when the heat hits it and you'll have the same mess - and be sure the tape is good and secure, pressed down well. ets - and yes, I've had the same type of mess before!! You're not alone!! -

If you google "electricity converter for europe" you'll find many choices in getting a converter that will then make your regular warmer work. I don't know if/where you could get warmers wired specifically for europe. Maybe someone from there will chime in. ETS; Actually, I still have one from when I was traveling that I'll never use again - if you're interested PM me!

I use 4630 in an 8oz mason jar ( not mainstay... but) and use 44z - works great with my FO's

I use TW from Peak with 4625 & 4630 it works very well for me. I use 51z's in 12oz status jars with the 4630 and us LX wicks with the 4625 for pillars.

Yep, that's more what I meant (didn't explain enough) - I too have certain scents from each category that don't throw well - but yes, you can use this wax and cover all the categories, you just have to find the ones that work for you.

The only thing that I can think of that I can't get to throw well with this wax is straight Patchouli.

I use 4630 and I find that I have to use a different wick size for different types of scents to get the throw I want.
