  1. so all of sudden, my body butter won't "set up"!! arrgghh!! my recipe hasn't changed, I haven't changed suppliers for ingredients, the environment hasn't changed - my shop has heat/air so... I don't get it!! Any suggestions??? If when I melt the butters down, if I get it too hot - will it affect it going back to semi solid? I can't figure it and I've made like 3 batches with same problem!! Only thing is I did get into a new 'shipment' of Shea butter...but it's the same supplier.... help????
  2. yep, it takes a while to get the swing of things like suspending and swirling (I'm still trying on swirling) but I've never had anyone ask either. I too use SFIC bases.
  3. there is a thread on it here somewhere (sorry, couldn't search right now)...
  4. I agree with the others - the market is there. I currently only do M&P, and am selling a lot of it! And yes, Candybee's recipes are where I started - they are awesome!
  5. Agree with Sliver... if you haven't gotten "your" system down to where it does better than yankme then you are jumping the gun. I mean, congrats on investor.. sounds like just what you need. In mho paraffin does produce a better throw... but then if you do your research, even just on this board, there are many opinions on the matter. The real trick is perfecting an entire system that works... like stated - no magic formula - you have to develop yours.
  6. welcome to the board, and the addiction!!

    Honest Opinions

4630 & 4625 make the perfect mix for my system.. def try 4630!
  8. they are getting around here... I haven't tried them but they are expensive... pay for packaging. and, I've had a few customers that tried them and came running back. Cute - but all hype/packaging
  9. lots of good advice - but I wouldn't say no way. I know a lot of people have been burned, but not everyone. I started with 2 stores on consignment and am still working with them. But - they are within driving distance so I check on them regularly, and I have a good contract. Granted the contract wouldn't be worth much if they went under - but - when you're first starting out sometimes you have to trust your gut and take a chance - it can turn out well just as easily, especially if you do your due diligence. I contracted for a certain space, set it up myself, and checked on it weekly - pain, oh yes - but you have to start somewhere, and in my case at least - it worked out well. Will I still do consignment - no - but, by the Grace of God, I don't have to anymore. But, I'm glad I did!! JMHO
  10. what gets me is how quiet the classies are these days... used to be stuff to buy all the time!
  11. Wow! I do M&P too, but nothing that pretty!! Great job!!
  12. Is the store close enough that you can go there? Is she only wanting to have your items for the 'home party' or permanently?20% is less than most stores expect. Just be sure your stuff is priced right, as in, it should cost more in the store than it would to buy from you - thus the 20% won't hurt you or pull you below what you would wholesale for.
  13. I use Peak's Frasier Fur as well.
  14. Looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it sliced!
  15. Woo Hoo!! Was putting together an order and saw that as of June this year their F&M is safe for B&B again!!! YAY!! Thought I'd post in case anyone that used to use it hadn't noticed!! :yay:
  16. I use Brambleberry a lot - NG has a lot of B&B stuff now too
  17. I added it to my line for this fall - will see how it does. But, I 'fell' across it too - never gave it much thought, until I smelled it - it is spot on, and so far everyone is loving it!
  18. oh what I wouldn't give for that! or, maybe not... I'd be even more broke!!
  19. Not sure what the glue sticks cost but the permatex is under $5 at my local walmart - and (if I don't let it dry out where I can't get it out) it'll handle a LOT of wicking - lasts forever
  20. I like it! It's def a good thrower! I get tired of 'same old' pretty easy, and this is different - in a good way - going on my list of fall scents for this year for sure!
  21. I have lots and lots of melts to be made - getting fall scents into the stores by the 15th! but in my warmer tonight is Bonfire Bliss!

I agree with everyone - it's hit & miss like with all suppliers. I've got several from them that work great and are top sellers for me.
  23. I don't use that wax or wick - but those def look overwicked to me as well.
