  1. I have read some of the older post concerning wicking small soy pillar candles with HTP, RRD, CD wicks... others use square braid wicks. What I am trying to determine is if it is just a matter or personal choice or is one type of wick more suited for pillars? I mainly have a larger variety of pre-tabbed wicks for my container candles.
  2. It's lovely! I'd love to see the cut photos. I bet it isn't as bad as you think?
  3. One other thing I like about The Soap Dish is that the Emu is processed at a certified refining facility and they retain a copy of the analysis in their files for each batch of oil maintained in inventory. I find they have good customer service as well.
  4. I've experienced the same thing and as mentioned above some people just feel that "homemade" can't possibly be as good as store bought. It is very fustrating but I have learned that if that is the way they think there is nothing that will change it. Don't worry too much about it. You know you are putting out a good quality product. I just wouldn't waste any more of my products or effort on them. I know how you feel because it would be nice to have support from your family. Don't let it get to you and keep making great soap!
  5. I like both suppliers for different reasons. I personally don't mind if a supplier does not have a ton of FO's if what they have is good quality and been thoroughly tested. I use soy wax so FO's that have been tested in both paraffin and soy is important to me and I know that takes alot of time.
  6. That soap is too pretty to use. It should be in a soap museum
  7. I love Emu oil. Best thing since slice bread.LOL! http://www.the-soap-dish.com/oils.htm Scroll down for the Emu oil. and www.fromnaturewithlove.com
  8. Oh no, did someone say Almost Heaven - run in the opposite direction from that supplier. Ask me how I know?:rolleyes2 I think they need a name change to Almost Hell ! If you type in that name in the search feature here you will see alot of info. on this and M.W. Some people are still waiting on merchandise from last year! If this supplier where truly interested in making things right with the customer I feel she would close her site to future orders and fill all of the many backorders that are waiting then re-open.

  10. Funny how each nose is different. I find Daystar's to be strong but it doesn't smell like Brown Sugar to me at all. Order a sniffie sample first.
  11. That's the soap I use and I am very pleased with it. It isn't the usual M&P soap in the sense that it remains well, sorta gooey. I just form a ball with the soap and let it air dry for a bit before using. I have added a drop of Lavender EO to it for fragrance. You may want to check locally for African Black soap. It would save on shipping cost. I have read that some products being sold as African Black Soap are not actually the authentic product. They are just basic soap dyed black. I have a local Alternative Health Practitioner here that sells ABS. If you have difficulty finding it pm me and Ill be glad to help. http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=eolavbulg&searchflag=1 I don't know if it is still for sale at Mable White site or not but if you decide to order on-line stay away from that site!
  12. Thanks everyone! I haven't tried the ones mentioned so that was a big help. I know that some of the others tend to be very weak in soy. Thanks again!
  13. I posted here because on the FO forum I usually get replies dealing with paraffin. Is anyone using a Lavender & Vanilla FO that they are really pleased with in soy? I am looking for an FO and not an EO.
  14. Wow! I'd never have known it was your first. Looks like your a pro!
  15. Well what an interesting idea! Could the same be done with M&P?
  16. Thanks Bunny. It sounds like Opthiphen Plus would be the better choice depending on the PH. I haven't a clue what the PH is in the formula. That info. wasn't given. The info. on preservatives here is the best explaination I have seen so far. I'll have to print that - good job!!!
  17. I am interested in using paraben free preservatives in some skin care products and I have several formulas that call for LiquaPar Pe or Germaben IIE. Can I sub Optiphen for either preservative?
  18. Very nice! I love your spring colors.
  19. Thanks everyone for the replies - I thank you and so do my feet!
  20. Anyone have a foot butter recipe? I am looking for a recipe using oils and butters. I have Shea, Avocado, Hemp and Coco butter. Are there any specific oils that are especially good for cracked dry skin like for heels of feet?
  21. Those are very beautiful! What a good tip! I have never been make a soy pillar that I was pleased with because of the cracking!
  22. They are both very nice but those swirls are to die for!!!
  23. That's odd, I can access it from your link but if I try to call it up from MSN home page I can't link to it. Something is wrong with my computer:mad:
  24. First there was a soap supplier that I hadn't been able to get to their site and then learned it was because they had gone out of business. Now I keep getting a 'can't find server" message for the past few days when I try to access From Nature With Love. Please don't tell me that they have gone out of business?
