  1. Im sorry, obviously spacing off tonight... I need this moved out of recipes into BB&C!
  2. Finally thinking about expanding from just candles and wanted to start with what seems to be simple, to see how it sells, and that would be bath salts. Curious if anybody could help me with a good recipe since there seems to be packs of various ones online. Also, have 2 main questions.. 1. Is regular food dye used for the coloring or is there a specific dye? 2. Can skin safe FO's be used, or are EO's prefered? Thanks, Victoria
  3. Oh my! I absolutely love those.. I have a thing for vines and such and those would go great in my home
  4. Haha, I didn't even notice her avatar and had to look back.. I guess that would help complete my craving Never a problem, I actually made a small order to try out some things on your site! I will have to send you a PM when they arrive and let you know how much I love them, and for how long you may have me addicted before I eventually have to find treatment and ban your site
  5. Thanks for the advice. Last night the delivery status had claimed that they had recovered the address and would be sent the following day, when tonight it says that they attempted to delivery it at 5:42 when I have been home all day since 2:30... So unfortunately it seems that there is still an error in the address, so tomorrow I will definetly have to call and get this figured out. Just so frusterating, for some reason I always get a knife to the gut when it comes to candle orders as something is out of stock and not added to my order, and now to add to my list is improper addresses... I have got my faith in Peaks, though I did get a bit catty in a follow up email as I have yet to hear from them... Hopefully they understand the pressure that I am going through by not getting an order Thanks again guys! Victoria
  6. Im such a perv, I was hoping for some boobs or SOMETHING... Haha, I have always admired your skills GrumpyGirl... I am stalking your site now!
  7. Time to vent my frusteration... Peaks forgot to add my apartment number on my address label, and now UPS is frantically trying to figure out where I am to get the package off their hands... GOD, I really hope I get my things... Sorry for the rant, I just get so tired with the bad luck I have with candle companies
  8. That is interesting, is this something practiced in all forms of candle making and I just wasn't aware of it? I just tested out my Pillar/Votive soy and the cold throw is ridiculously well. I used a pinch over 1/4oz for 5oz of the flaked wax. Scent is dragons blood, and it seems the wax is light on colors so my already high 4 drops of Burgundy will need to get pumped up to fit my appetite of red(if even possible with soy). I did a partial fill on a 6 cavity clamshell, and love the wax with it:yay:... But the downfall is with the votives. As you can see from the pictures, it cracked around the wick. Is this from sinking, so this wax would just need a repour to elimate the problem?(Wick used is 44-36-18C). And, I also made a boo'boo by cracking the candle by pressing the sides to help release it.. Needless to say, as soon as I saw the crack I sat it back down and walked away haha. I will have to update on how it unmolds and if there are further problems. I can't get over how great the cold throw is, regardless of being a relatively strong FO P.s. I raised the temp to 170 and began my initial pour at about 153 if that could link to problems
  9. I primarily use Palm Wax, as that just seems to work perfect for me.. But I would like to try out Soy to use as a secondary wax instead of Paraffin. I am reading a bit and it seems a bit more FO per pound compared to other waxes, and also I am curious about the 'curing'. Is this just a matter of sitting it around for a couple of weeks or what? I have a few pounds of Cargill Nature Wax C-3(Container) as well as EcoSoya Wax PB-140(Pillar Blend) to play around with, hopefully they treat me well:yay: Love to hear any tips, Victoria
  10. I have always just added the dye then FO to my double boiler, sure to mix it well, and then poured into my mold or container. If there is any extra wax in my pot, like less than a half an ounce(an amount that I can not use by whipping out a tart tin), then I just pour it in my trash(over my garbage, so mah garbage bags don't melt haha)... Then... I just toss a couple paper towels on a cookie sheet and put the pot upside down on the towels and throw it in the oven at the lowest temp(200deg) for a couple minutes. The paper towel catches the wax when it melts, and then I just give it a final wipe with another towel. I guess im just lazy, haha Victoria
  11. Thanks for the encouragement, I will have to give them a try now. I was a bit turned away with the different selection, and being a site I am not familiar with, but I am going to take your word and check them out. Thanks for your help, hopefully this will be the scent I have been looking for -Victoria
  12. Hey Natty, Looked around and it seems like they primarily sell candles, though Absinthe is unfortunetly not one of the few oils they offer:cry2: O man! I originally found this http://www.saveonscents.com/product_info.php/products_id/2392 , but you have the option of the concentrates and such, so it just seems like a weird order that im not sure that im ready for haha. Even Ebay doesn't have anything, people are selling an ounce for 5bucks, or less for even more.. No way I can add anything to my line that cost that much money.
  13. Looked a little around online and didn't see much when it comes to prepared absinthe scented fragrance oils. I just purchased a pound of NGC black licorice , and thinking about what else I could convienantly mix with it to have a nice absinthe scent. Maybe a touch of clove? If anybody has any ideas, or knows of a supplier I would love to hear back from you. -Victoria
  14. I would love to know as well. Primarily my candles are made with Palm Wax, and I hope to add tapers to my line so that would be awesome and I am sure beautiful. Any ideas on wicking this thin of a candle??? If anybody has further information we would love to hear
  15. Oh my god! I love those, and the taper looks almost like a horn... Wow, I wish I had the space and time to play around with such things:cry2:
