  1. Hi, I just wanted to know if this scent is exclusive to this candle company? I purchased some of their candles and cold sniff they are fab but once burning the scent is fairly mild, will try again with them though. does anyone know if other fragrance companies sell the oil? i bought also teakwood and tobacco which is again a lovely scent.
  2. Out of interest are there any EU/UK people on here that have used these oils? Just thinking out loud that if there was a demand, and the codes are available happy to sell on at cost.
  3. Why doesn't she just sell the codes off? Brent wanted to sell them for $70 each to everyone, it would work out that everyone could buy the codes and the fragrance house would get all the business. The only downside is that you would have to buy a lot of oil at a time, but Kim would get a lot more than she needed. she could just say until end of Oct, everyone that wants to buy a code pays X each and the codes get released at the same time so no one can resell them without Kim getting the cash, Kim then let's the fragrance house know. OR someone just buys her codes.
  4. Sad to hear this but totally understandable. was this the same company that closed and reopened last time? If so I spoke to Brent, he offered the codes to everyone that purchased from them at $70 a code, I think quite a few people were interested. He then took the offer off his website. I hope she lets people buy kegs, it just provides breathing space. I don't buy fragrances from resellers anymore, I buy codes and have my own codes to buy direct. The value in her business is her fragrance codes and maybe her customer list. Back in 2010 I bought fragrances from the scent works during her famous 20% off sale. Some of them arrived short and I was refunded. I decided there and then to source my own codes, I spent a lot of time testing and sampling and have managed to get quite a few samples dead on as well as buy codes which again proved to be spot on.
  5. They might be edible and then it's bakery supplies/stores for them
  6. I love her lemon curd and rose and blackberry and lemon one, really lovely scents. I think lots of people here make tarts just as lovely.
  7. I think they are a soy/paraffin blend. I do not know if she waits to decorate them, they look really pretty.
  8. I said earlier in the thread that she was doing the right thing by saying sorry and removing the listings. She has decided to put the listings back up negating the goodwill she had, ack, Suzy I feel for you, some people go for the fast buck instead of building their own brand. There is only so much you can do with a small space like a lip balm but it is totally possible to be original. I don't get the sorry's and then the Oops no actually I am not sorry. It would have been quicker to just rebrand IMO only.
  9. Yep, nkennedy, could have just done nothing, but she stepped up and is making it right, let's not all get on her back. Suzy, you have amazing sucessful businesses and you have worked so hard for it, it will all come good.
  10. Thanks sliverofwax, much appreciated. I will do some digging and see what I can find, based on past posts, it seemed that the oils were really strong and well loved. Thanks again :-)
  11. My mind is frazzled with testing waxes, so I thought I would look into candle oils. Does anyone remember the scented bean? I read great things about the oils. If anyone can pm me or reply about getting in touch with them, that would be great.
  12. Will reply to your pm Dave :smiley2: My top 3 are Peak The scent works Candlescience
  13. Thanks Jo! I will test it again and will defo add fo at a higher temp. Thanks!
  14. Not impressed with TCS wax, it is nice, but the scent throw is not as strong as 4786 or 4794 - used JS blonde moment. It was fun reading this thread, but this wax is not for me. I melted to 170, added FO at around 150-160 and poured, left for a day and a bit and the throw was weak imo. I just wanted to update everyone.
  15. Lol!! Lol!! I think Carol must buy her wax from IGI or somewhere direct, she gets through pallets of wax a week easy.
  16. I agree, her tarts are like a pillar paraffin, really lovely tarts. I think she has been making them for about 12 years. It is a long journey to the perfect blend! I will report back on the TCS wax and also the other blends mentioned when I test them. Anyone selling their candle/tart company contact me!!?lol!
  17. I love carols (candles from the keeping room tarts) there are quite a lot of US vendors who make impressive tarts. I am getting the TCS slab tomorrow so will let you know what I get. Candlescience 1 dollar samples are also coming, so will test it with some of those. You all have provided us with so much entertainment, advice and I am now hooked on finding the perfect or close Tart blend!!Lol! Then the perfect candle blend!Lol!
  18. Thanks Jeanie,it is so confusing, you summed it up perfectly, choose a form and stick to it!Lol!
  19. Sucks about the difference in waxes :-(. I am awaiting some TCS wax and it is in slabs, I will test it, but I am not sure it is even worth doing so now?? Are the slabs not good and some of the pellets also not good or is it a crap shot? Sorry that some of your have wax you dont need :-(, it could maybe be blended with others to use it up.
  20. Thanks Ravens, I will let you know as soon as I get the wax, make them, let them cure and will note the scents used etc.
