  1. Thanks to the TCS spokesperson Ravens (thank you), a kind soul is sending me a sample of TCS tart wax. I am excited to get my mitts on it! I hope it throws better than 4786. I would love a 1 wax tart formula!
  2. Great! Looking forward to seeing your result! Thanks!
  3. I have not used this one Jesuschick, but last year I was researching fragrances and the Buttercream from Bluegrass now at Elements was highly praised. hth
  4. Hang on to those Krugerands, they are worth a great deal now!! Italy makes some really great shoes, but now I guess it is all about the mold to make the shoes, so be it china or europe it can be done.
  5. I had heard it was made in South Africa, I might be wrong on that. Yes it is interesting with the shoes, I heard it was because the US Govt, thinks it is strange that anyone would send shoes into the US when you all have so many various shoes already, I dont know if the Postal worker was pulling my leg, but it was strange.
  6. A roast is far better than any candle, but I bet it smells a bit sickly after a while, Amish Friendship Bread forEVER!!!! Enjoy your roast!! With the added level of security, times have changed and it is more expensive to ship overseas on both sides, it is possible, but they really milk the system and squeeze every penny they can. Did you know that it is not easy to ship shoes to the US? I didnt but I was told by Royal Mail to stay on the right side of the law you have to declare everything and shoes have an additional layer of paperwork. Jo, I hope it is Sasol, that would be interesting indeed. I understand the need to maintain your trade secrets, but many businesses come and go, imagine spending months and costs fine tuning a formula and it suddenly disappears, I have seen many great businesses on here have to scramble to redo testing which is really unfair to them and their customers.imo.
  7. I was thinking about the miracle wax, it could also come from Sasol, I automatically thought of IGI but it could be a little talked about manufacturer. Maybe. Waiting with bated breath!Lol!
  8. Thanks Dave, I understood what you meant :-) I will drop you a pm in the next few days but briefly - I typed this 3 times on ipad and lost it, so logged onto computer to reply in case anyone else wanted to know about the UK and wax. With the flashpoints, more and more fragrances are being produced over 200 flashpoint which helps greatly, it is still a problem for some fragrances like florals but it is slowly changing. I purchased 2lb waxes from BCN and Peaks, it costs a lot to ship over for small amounts but large amounts would be much more. In the UK to purchase IGI, you have to commit to 2 pallets so roughly 5,000LBs at a time and you have minimum orders to meet. It is hard getting the wax but it is possible. We have a few candle suppliers here like 4candles etc and they provide soy and paraffin etc. It is easier in the US because you can purchase cases at a time instead of pallets. In terms of shipping, we have been hit hard with the USPS rises, instead of around $12 to ship, it is now $23 for a tiny package and the flat rate boxes have gone up in price. If that was not enough, any parcel over $36 dollars worth is hit with a customs charge of a min of $16 handling fee and then the custom duties fee and if you are really unlucky a VAT charge also. So to ship the amounts I do, it is around $100-150 each time, or less $23.95 for a small padded envelope. So pretty pricey, it costs roughly the same to ship from Canada or the US, our govt doesnt care, its across the pond so charges are expected. It is easy to ship, fill out the form clearly, leave no room for doubt and it will get here, parcel rarely go missing, yes that can be caught in a backlog but they rarely disappear but it can happen. Check about tariff codes, in the UK if you ship products to the USA, you have to note the tariff codes, I am not sure if you have to do this, in the UK you only have to label it if it is merchandise, if it is a gift, just mark what it is, avoid the words powder!! The sniffer dogs would be all over it and delay it for a few days or more!lol! If I have left anything out, please let me know because this site has been helpful to me in the past. Containers are easy to come by in the UK, due to Libbey having distributors in Europe and the UK.
  9. Thanks David, I will be more patient and wait to hear from you when you can!! Beth I am defo going to try the 6006 with 4794 and 4786 as well as other waxes! This wax journey is very interesting!
  10. I asked them, they agreed, I paid for shipping. They will not give me endless supplies though lol.
  11. With the cc oil, I really like vanilla voodoo and coconut macaroon.
  12. Thanks Beth,I have seen this combo mentioned before, I like the idea but I wish to avoid soy, I will try it out, it might make me reconsider!
  13. Simply fragrant she is an enabler!!lol I have indeed purchased from candle cocoon and I am loving her scents, she was one of the first. :-) seriously I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on oils in the past month.it is an addiction, I have no business knowing about connie, but I must try her oils also!
  14. Anything you can find out David would be great, I am looking forward to trying this miracle wax, I am not trying to be a Debbie downer by asking about this wax, it was only a few weeks ago that WSP decided to no longer stock candle products so it can and does happen.
  15. For sure, Jesuschick, I will let you all know what I am going with, I have not even begun testing on fo's yet, I have that to look forward to, I have purchased fo's from peaks, candle science, community, backwoods, moonworks, BCN and BCS, SW, Daystar, just scent, actually most of them!! Lol!!! Need to narrow down the wax blend!! At this point, it would have been cheaper to buy a small tart companies business!! Or pay for consultancy, both of those options are actually appealing!
  16. Thanks for your help Jesuschick and chandlerwicks it is all just so many possibilities, now with this miracle tcs wax in play, I am going to try to find out if IGI make it, if it is as good as is suggested, I could get it from Tcs and shipped via IGI lol. I need to knuckle down and test these combos. In the US the temps vary so much, so that is something you all test for, in the UK,it is pretty much cold or warm, never raging hot. If you plan to sell mainly online like the tart vendors doing amazing business right now, then cold throw and heat might not play too great a part. One tart vendor opened today and has taken a ton in orders so far!
  17. IGI rec 4786 and some of their version of vybar to aid scent throw.
  18. Thanks chandler wicks, I will try that next weekend or today.
  19. I also have 6006. So quite a few waxes to choose from.
  20. I have the following waxes from peaks all igi - 4786,4794,4630, 4625, 1343, 4627. More 4794,4826,4786 was sent to me from igi.
  21. Hi chandler wicks, igi are being pretty cool and they will send me 4627, but they will be upset if I get lots of different ones and still cannot choose.lol
  22. Agree with the praise for cc oils, I think they smells excellent and you can use less. Favourites include vanilla voodoo, ooegy caramel and the coconut macaroon. Another faithful fragrance oil supplier is peaks, really pleased with the quality from there also.
  23. Hi with massive juggling, I can now choose 2 waxes for clamshells. I have been testing with 4794 and 4786 and both are ok, not 100% great, it could be my methods tho. I have been doing tons of reading and research and 4625 and 6098 is supposed to be a great tart wax blend. Any further thoughts on this? I can just about afford to purchase 2 different waxes and I prefer paraffin, the ht is the most important because I hopefully will eventually be selling wax melts online only. Any tips or help would be much appreciated. I also am a fan girl for IGI I am also looking into the tcs miracle wax that Ravens and others rave about for tarts.
  24. You all are like Columbo!! I wish I could help!!! Let me know if I can! With this tcs wax, it is not that you are trying to get the price lower, it is more a case of not putting all of your eggs in one basket. I have seen time and time again when people do that, it bites them in the bum, be it fragrance suppliers, wax suppliers, pourette etc etc
  25. Great thread!! Is it possible that the candle source tart wax comes from IGI ?
