  1. I think you can wait until the second layer does not break the first layer, but not too long In case they split when they are being used, unlike soap, you do have a longer window of time. In terms of scent combos there are so many that work, I like peppermint and lavender is nice, basically any combo that works in a candle or a blend would work well in this.
  2. With piping, I think its about whipping it and then putting it into a piping bag and real quick getting it on there, I think some people add cristo to it to keep it soft.
  3. Aw sucks that you cannot test until Fall (but how cool is your store!!??Yummy!!) I will post my results when I get more wax regarding the chunks. The scoopable and chunks will still be going strong when you can resume testing, they both seem to be the hot thing right now, as well as candles that look like desserts etc. I have seen some scoopable wax from vendors that is so smooth and scoopable and I have seen some from different vendors that is like hard ice cream, very hard to scoop out but the ct and ht are excellent.
  4. I have read that with scentsy you are not allowed to sell on ebay if you are a consultant, so maybe the seller has decided to not admit they are a scentsy rep or someone they know is selling their wares. It would be so cool to have the choice you all have because you can develop your very own custom blend. I can use 1 type of IGI wax and either vybar or UA to improve the formula and then that is it.
  5. Lol, choice is always a good thing, you are a perfectionist which will always serve you well!!
  6. I really hope so justajesuschick, I must say your posts as well as others like jeanie, horsescents , faithful scenter and ravens have been a blessing and so helpful, just reading your posts about your quest to the perfect melt as well as the wealth of information you have kindly shared about the fo's etc. so many thanks for it all. With regards to my testing, I am working on 4794 and 4786 both straight due to the fact we do not get such a wide array of waxes like you all in the USA and I am limited to going with either wax, I have to buy 1 or 2 pallets at a time once I decide so I have to be 100% sure.
  7. With ebay it would be much quicker to buy from a rep instead of ebay unless the auctionis finishing soon or it's a buy now, plus the rep can sell from their stock.
  8. I have 6 different electric warmers and I have smelt scentsy, scentsational, bhg and over 10 different etailers for tarts and scentsy, scentsational, bhg and a few of the etailers were actually really good for scent throw both hot and cold. I aim to produce a tart just as good and sell in the UK. 2 scentsy ones that stand out to me are Luna and White tea and Cactus. I am not going by what I hear or read, I am going by what my home smells like.
  9. That is a good point, they both feel really different. I do like the way they both throw strongly.
  10. I think they must add something to the wax, I noticed at the tops of some of the scentsy clamshells, you can see little beads of fragrance, I showed it to a friend and he said it could be oil from the wax, he said the bhg/scentsational is not oily so different waxes are used. I would think igi ship them liquid wax or bulky bulk direct, when they sued scentsational part of the reason was because the scentsational owner wandered around the scentsy warehouse and saw how they blended their wax with additives. It could be a standard igi wax blended with vybar or UA.
  11. Still planning on doing this,I got a selection of waxes from peaks and sadly bought too little, just testing with clamshells it has all gone, will have to order a larger amount to test.
  12. I think scentsy mentioned that they put in 15% fragrance in their melts, it does seem a little high when compared to how much you all put in yours and yours are stronger in throw.
  13. Backwoods also packages samples with great care, lots of suppliers could take a leaf out of their book.
  14. I placed an order with them and the service was speedy, the lady helping me was ace, her name was Paula.
  15. I might be easier if you purchased the scents/tarts that you keep hearing about so you know what you are dealing with.
  16. I love that too! I now really like the fudge brownie!lol!
  17. I just wanted to say Thanks Peak!!! I ordered some sample waxes and liquid colour and thought that I didnt get a sample bottle of FO which they normally include. It was my mistake totally, they did infact provide me with a bottle of FO, it was fudge brownie, I didnt notice because it was wrapped up with the liquid colour bottles. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks!!!
  18. Yep I found that as well Jesuschick, I think somewhere on here, someone said mix zuc with amish that most people use to get the amish friendship bread element.
  19. Daystar and Indiana candle supply do sugar milk, burnt cream could be creme brûlée. If you look on fragrance oil finder it will provide you with tons of options. Amish, I think every of supplier has a version of it.
