  1. I read somewhere before that they were parrafin. I'm looking right now on their site to see if I can find it. I did see this ..... Truth in Advertising: We make no promises or statements that could mislead existing or prospective customers or Consultants. Thought that was a little comical seeing as how they make statements that claim their pots will ONLY melt their wax. Ok found what type of wax is it.... FAQ What kind of wax is used in Scentsy Bars and Scentsy Bricks? Scentsy wickless candle bars are made with a custom, high-quality paraffin wax blend. It is designed for a specific scent load and low melt point.
  2. I like them both also. I'm not the prim type so I can be of no help there, but, they both look great and I'd surely buy them.
  3. Very pretty!! You did a great job. I'm going to play around with some pillars and votives for myself when I get my wax and molds. I love the chunk one.
  4. I was thinking he's who I'm calling when I need an accomplice when someone pi$$es me off.
  5. I agree with you Bella. Parrafin, I'm not touching it. Don't like it, don't want it and people in this area want soy not a soy blend. But yes it is a personal preference.
  6. I use the jj as well. Didn't want to use the hex since those were so close to what the home interior or whatever they are called now were in. Don't know if they've changed the style, but, didn't want to confuse people. Also I personally didn't really care for the hex. There were other companies that had them in masons so I opted for the jj. Yes there are many other jars that are much nicer looking than the jj, but, when it comes down to cost I know I couldn't sell them. We had another company from out of state come to our local christmas show at the fairgrounds and while they did look pretty and smell good, they didn't sell b/c of the price. They were the apothecary jars. To answer your original question, I sell 8 oz jj, 16 oz jj and 4 oz tins. Don't sell to many in the tins at all so when those are gone I'm not going to do those anymore. I do sell some of the 16's, but, the large majority is the 8 oz jj. Container choice is a personal preference and what works for some may not work for others. This is all based on my personal experience in my area.
  7. Candybee the categories has something to do with the increase they recently had on FO's. I got an email from them explaining it, but, off memory that's all I remember. I know category 5 is the dupes which was the most expensive but I think they still were only 17.99 or so. I'm pretty sure I still have the email if you'd like I could forward it to you so you could see the explanation of the categories. ETA- PCBrook and I were posting at the same time... but she pretty much summed it up. And there is no difference in strength from one category to the next.
  8. I have a part time job along with the candle business. I don't have a storefront, but, maybe someday in the future I will. My hubby works also, but, I need to continue to work my job as it gives us the extra income we need but also gives us the benefits that we really need. I get free health, dental, vision and presciption insurance through my employer. I also have a retirement plan. Not bad for only working part time. My hubby could get insurance through his employer, but, it's not free and with having kids we'd need to cover, it would be way too expensive to have it through his employer.
  9. I've only had 1 charge show up on mine and it was back in Sept. It was for Strawberry Cosmetics in Hong Kong for 7.00 Chase caught it and reversed the charge. There's been nothing else since then, but, I am checking everyday. I've even set up alerts on my cc to send me emails whenever my card is used even if it's for 1.00
  10. I've used JS for this scent before and never had a fuel smell. I haven't gotten any of that for some time though. I've used CS as well and their's was great. Let us know what they say about it so if it's going to be an issue with that scent we'll know to steer clear of it.
  11. Hawaiian Tropics Twilight Brown Sugar & Fig Candy Apple Banana Muscadine I know there's a few others these are just the ones I know off my head. The only one I didn't care for was Endless Love. It was off from other dupes that I've used.
  12. KY warehouse was GREAT!!! And even better since I'm in KY. Never once had a single problem when I got it from KY, but, had MANY problems just about every order when they closed that one. I've moved on to other suppliers. I always end up missing something when I am making an order. I'll forget about something when I place an order and not even realize it till I get my order and then I must smack the forehead and say DUH!!!
  13. Must depend on the area b/c I'm the opposite from Carol K and CandyBee. Sell tons of tarts in the clamshell packages, but, the single scalloped melts I would sell a few here and there. I just started giving them away as freebies with purchases till they were gone. Occasionally I make some for myself. As for the orignal question, almost every show I do there is a Scentsy rep there. They usually have alot of lookers but not too many buyers. I always outsell them. I've turned my share of their customers to the other side!!
  14. no both of these are one pour. I've used both and never had to do a second pour.
  15. Alabaster only ships from Alabama now as they closed the KY warehouse over a year ago or so. It's the Alabama warehouse that all the problems you've seen were from.
  16. I also thought at first glance it said mia bella. Definately need to change the name before mia bella comes after you. Yes you may be a small fry compared to them, but, the big companies seem to enjoy coming after the little guys who give them a little competition. :tiptoe: ETA: candle jar by size pics are not showing for me either and I also got the same page not found for the scented sachets.
  17. http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candlecontainers_libbey-glass-flat-lid-(small).html I think this is what she's referring to. It's the rubber that's around the inside of the lid. I don't use those lids so I can't be of much help, but, I would think airing them out for awhile would take care of it.
  18. Some of the FO suppliers use PET and HDPE bottles for their FO's so I would assume you could as well.
  19. Black Linen and Amber Frosted Lime Cupcake I have both of these but have not put them into anything yet. OOB they both are great. I got some stuff off the classies from something before and they threw in a sample souffle cup of this (in wax) and it smelled amazing. The Black Linen and Amber I got b/c I've only heard great reviews on it. Oh I did get the Sinfully Hot that Carol recommended in her post. Done nothing with it either, but, OOB smells good. If you do a search you'll find some recommendations for their FO's.
  20. The only 2 I have used are CS and Alabaster's. The one from CS is great...love it. The Smoke Out from Alabaster stunk horribly imo. I did have a few that liked it but to me it was horrible smelling. Been a couple years since I tried the one from Alabaster so unless they've improved it I would stay away from it.
  21. I got mine from Aztek for 49 new. It's already altered with the spout and I've never had it clog up when just melting wax and running through the spout. The only time it's ever clogged is when I've used them for dipping bears in. The only reason that was is b/c there's a little wax left in the pot once I squeeze out the excess from the bear. And all I had to do was use a wooden skewer and push it through the hole while running hot water then wash and dry. I have a couple of the ones without the spout and they are a pain in the you know what for me anyway. Whether I pick it up and pour it out or use a ladel it's more time consuming and messier imo.
  22. I have 8 of the the teflon ones. They work fantastic for me. Most of mine were already altered by the supplier when I bought them. I got the altered ones from Aztek.
  23. I have something that may work. It's a big punch with a rotating head that has different size punches. I used to use it to punch the holes in my air fresheners and it worked great, but, when you were punching a hundred air fresheners the hand got tired. So I found a better way to do those. It also punches holes in leather so I would think it would do cardboard. I got it at hobby lobby. If you have one of those you'll need to look for it. It wasn't with the normal punches you find for scrapbooking.
  24. I've not done anything with my crushed corn yet, but, yes you can use it as stuffing in animals. BC has bears that have the velcro back that you can stuff scented crushed corn cob in or aroma beads. You'd need to have animals that have a zippered or velcro back unless you're good at sewing them back up.
