  1. How about calling it "Don't look Ethel !!" Who can forget that infamous line in the song "The Streak" by Ray Stevens.. hee hee.... Ya know...I just might rename mine to that.....says nothing naughty, but implies everything.... if you lived back when the song came out....
  2. Those are sooooooo cool!!!! Fantastic job !!!!
  3. Caribbean Colada, Island Colada, Tropical Ice, Tropical Cool Down, Coco Beach Ice, Coco Beach, Tropical Rendezvous :smiley2:
  4. Hi Dcroome, I know you are having a very tough time right now, but hang in there sweetie.... it is good to do something busy right now and making tarts definitely is a busy thing! I got the Pink Bubblegum from The Candlemaker Store. I had sent them an email that I was looking for a bubblegum scent and they said to pick that...I had also sent them an email looking for a dupe of the Crossroads' Buttered Maple Syrup...they said that they had just gotten Buttered Maple Syrup in and I ordered that also. I LOVE the Pink Bubblegum!! Smells JUST LIKE the Bazooka Bubblegum ... a very fun scent...made me smile when I was pouring...I think that this would be an EXCELLENT scent to blend w/banana, coconut, vanilla and maybe Pink Sugar...lots of possibilities with this one !! I did not pour the Buttered Maple Syrup.....it smells wonderful and is VERY close to the Crossroad's . I had also ordered 2 mo ago the Vermont Maple Syrup from AE and it smells almost exact too .... so I have decided I am going to do a 50/50 blend....I think that blending the two will give me a wonderful kick butt candle! I have found that when you blend scents that smell a lot like each other you get an awesome scent... ie: I ordered the Pumpkin Cheesecake from BCS and Pumpkin Hollow from The Candlemaker Store they smelled alot alike but I now blend them 50/50......it is AWESOME!!! I hear ya about the hand rolling the cinnamon rolls...hee hee.. BUT I have seen pictures of the tall ones that some people have made and just LOVE the look of them...I have decided that if someone else can do that , well.... I will EVENTUALLY be just as darned good too!! I poured my jars today...tomorrow is dedicated to doing my second pours and wrestling the cinnamon rolls. :smiley2:
  5. Tomorrow I am making Lavender, Coconut Milk, Pink Bubblegum, Cinnamon Stick and Clove Bud, Money Farts, Coconut Lime Verbena and Pink Sugar in tureens and 8 oz square masons. Make some tea lights and try making the cinnamon rolls again...still need to practice the rolling! I need to work on some labels too. Have a wonderful, relaxing, scent-filled, productive, fun weekend everyone!!
  6. Now THAT candle would attract anybodys attention!!! Very nice display!!!:smiley2:
  7. Beautiful job!!!! Love the colors and the containers!! LOVE the stickers ......you have to seperate yourself from the "big" dogs and offer product that is unique and different...SMART thinking!!
  8. Ditto Donita and if you use liquid dye do like she said, wait a few minutes .... and just when the sides are JUST barely, and I mean barely starting to show that they are starting to solidify, touch the tip of your dye bottle to the very top edge of your mold and the liquid dye will streak down the sides..... do this around the mold ....it is a beautiful effect! Good Luck!!!:smiley2:
  9. Vicky, That is so beautiful!!!! :yay:There aren't a whole lot of quilt makers out there anymore, it is very tedious and time consuming AND not everyone can do it (I sure can't) .... what a special TREASURE for them to receive from you!! The perfect gift as far as I am concerned!!
  10. Hmmm....I would go with the Women's Conference...it's inside...lots of women (who love to shop!). It will be a good time, good fellowship, good people, lots of laughter etc.. people love to shop and buy when they feel good and are happy... and the Pastor's wife would be a very important contact person who will be sending business your way... Please keep us posted....wishing you the VERY, VERY best!!!!
  11. Well rctfavr3.....let me dig around my scent closet...I have the Sea Kelp, the Salty Sea Air and I have to look to see if I have the Cucumber and Tidal Wave....the earliest I could blend would be next weekend as I have to get back to work tomorrow....but it would be fun.... Who knows what all these great minds here might come up with? hee hee....could be pretty darned good!!
  12. Lavender .30 and Vanilla .70 , Lavender .75 and Lilac .25 , Lavender .70 and Apple .30
  13. Ok....this is perfect...I had been thinking about blending some scents to create a better.. more perfect ocean scent too because they all seem like they are missing just a little something.... I was thinking of blending sea kelp -AH (.30) , salty sea air -ICS ( .30) and tidal wave - BCN ( .30) with a dash of cucumber -(I had read on this blog that several people thought AH had a wonderful clean cucmber) ( .10).... I don't know...but if I was going to mix..this is what I would use as I love all of those scents and had been wondering what all combined might smell like...... this is an excellent challenge...
  14. :yay:Great job...love the brilliant colors!!! LOVE the purple pillar!!!!
  15. What beautiful products!!!! Wishing you the VERY best on your new product line!!!
  16. Sounds like everyone has a lot of things going on this weekend!! RJDAINES....if I lived close enough to you, I'd make sure you had some containers so you could play!! IMC....whoo hooo have fun playing with your new products from Peak!! KSRANCH... congrats on the large order...doesn't it make you feel awesome when people want YOUR products instead of the other big candle makers...best kick in the seat of the pants ain't it ...isn't this what we all strive for in our business ??!! BARBARA...make sure you give your rescued dog a huge hug and big ole wet kiss on the nose from me...would love to see a pic of your new baby!! KITN ....congrats on selling your house and just think...when you make all your money from the garage sale....you can buy MORE soap supplies!! To everyone on the board.... have a wonderful, productive, fun, relaxing weekend!!
  17. Tomorrow I am going to try making the hand rolled Cinnamon Bun candles (I haven't made but once several years ago...grew a wild hair and decided to try again) , Monkey Farts, and Caribbean Teakwood in the square mason jars and maybe some tealights. :smiley2:
  18. GREAT job!!!! Wow a ball candle even!!! Love the color!!! Ball candles have ALWAYS gotten the best of me....lots of leaking around the edges even with the use of lots of clips and putty......I applaud you!!!! Welcome to the addiction that NEVER goes away!!
  19. Like Mulberrysoap said.....SOOOOOOOOOOOO RELAXXXXXXXXXXXING!!! Desertrose :laugh2:LMAO!!!! Paul, I just LOVE watching your videos!!!! Keep 'em coming!!!
  20. Oh that owl!!! Poor thing...sure looks a little under the weather doesn't he?? It is TOTALLY against human nature to have to wait too long before we can take our creations out of the molds to see what they look like..... HEE HEE...Been there done that!! Love your other owl !!
  21. Yes, the straining is a pain, that is for sure, but a necessary evil. Don't you just hate it when they change the jar lids on you?! Ackkkk!! Makes you want to tear your hair out! Are you looking for your old lids to buy? If so, could you could take a pic and put it online and maybe one of us will know where you can get access to the old lids that you used to have for your jars. Please don't throw in the towel!!! Your customers need you!! Things will get better!! :smiley2:
  22. Jane...let me tell you....in addition to the Salty Sea Air, if you love rich bakery scents...they have them...order some of their Cinnamon Buns( the old version-because you have a choice with these) ...oh my the best Cinnamon Bun EVER and try their Baked Apples and Pink Sugar, Caramel Nut Cluster and try their coffee scents....yumm...their scents are just awesome and would definitely be a great addition to your line and try the Cactus Sea Salt too. I have been in the candle making field for 12 years now and even though I have some awesome scents from Cajun, both Bitter Creeks and the Candlemaker Store, the addition of ICS, Candle Science and Peak as suppliers has definitely made me feel like I have the cream of the crop of scents in my line now!! I am just so tickled thanks to the great folks who post here about these awesome suppliers!!
