Thanks for all of the input! I have xanthan gum that I use now, but man it's a pita. LOL I've tried EBC's base and really liked it. It didn't get watery thin after adding FO to it. I want to replace my hemp lotion base also since it's so high. Maybe I'll try BCN's too. I was hoping to get the bases at one place, but we all know how well that works out. LOL

Yes, it would be nice to know what exactly FO's are made from, but you won't find that out. Period. Yes, we should know what we are putting on or skin, or in our product, or in the air. But since the laws don't require manufacturers to give out "recipes" of their FO's, they aren't. I think you have another thread with this same concern? As far as suppliers going out of business, unfortunately that happens. And there's been a few recently. It's also not uncommon for the supplier to discontinue what to them is a slow selling FO, but to you is your biggest seller. (Seems to happen to my favorite lipstick ALL the time. ha) I'm not trying to sound rude, but since you're new to this whole industry you might want to start by just playing around, finding different suppliers you like, and worry about them going out of business if it happens. What products do you make? bath and body? soap? candles?

I need to replace my shower gel. Right now I have Ritzy Gel from NG, but I'm not happy with it. I really loved WSP's Crystal Clear one, but I can only order from them when I need alot of stuff to justify the prices. I was looking at BCN's Aloe one. Has anyone tried this? Does it suds good and not dry your skin out? I was also thinking of getting their hand sanitizer. Does it accept smell or does the alcohol smell overpower any FI you use? Thanks for the input!! I love this sent in a candle! I used 4630 (I think that's what it its.. I only make them once in a while for myself). This has the best HT of any of the candles I've made!

I burn oil in my burners all the time. I don't make tarts, so this works best for me. I usually use a 50/50 ratio of dpg/fo also, but sometimes I have to dilute it further if the fo is a stronger one. I started with using water instead of FO and had not so desirable results too. I've also used an unscented tea light candle, melted that down and added a few drops of FO. That worked ok, but just not as well as the dpg.

I think both WSP and MMS said when their supply is gone, it's gone.

Ohhh my FAV candle is made with CS Carmalized Pralines! It burns soooo good too! I say straight! It's FAB!!!

There's also Krylon (or something like that) I got it at Michaels. I put clear box tape around the labels for the shower gel and other bath stuff because I don't trust the Krylon on those.

I personally wouldn't buy an EO that was pre cut either. Hope you can find something suitable as a replacement!!! And just a thought, you might not be able to find it because of the skyrocketing price of jojoba oil. I paid $8.95 for 16oz of jojoba about a year and half ago and last time I checked it was like $50 now for that same size!!!! And supply of it is pretty much gone, so it's doubtful you will be able to find that for a while.

Yes, you are correct!!! To make this MUCH easier on you next time you need to convert % to weight, go to wsp's site and click calculators. They have 2 there.. 1 that converts weight to %, and one that converts % to weight. It's a LIFESAVER for me!!!! I personally prefer a roll on with a higher % of FO, but that's just me. So I try to stick with FO's that have a higher skin safe amount.

You need to research the EO you want to use and find out what the safe % is. Each one will have a different amount. And personally, I don't trust drops, I use measurements... For EO or FO I measure in ML in my droppers. Some EO's are skin safe at 100% like lavendar or tea tree oil, but than others aren't skin safe at all. You need to research this thoroughly before making anything... HTH! Laura

LOL I feel ya on not needing more oils! I have over 100 and I don't even sell!! Good grief, last thing I ever need is more FO, but what do I do? Order more.. sheesh I couldn't pass up the .99 cent 1oz bottle set price... I only make candles for us and not often at all, so I can't really say as far as those go, but for B&B so far I've been pretty satisfied with the oils. Definately won't replace my regular suppliers, but so far they're on the "keep" list.

I make both.. For the roll on, you can use just a carrier oil and EO or FO; it doesn't need to be sprayable. For the spray I use cyclo and FO, and for the roll on I used to use jojoba, but have changed to FCO for the base oil since jojoba is so expensive.

That does help! I DO smell a soapiness to the perfume, and than the musk.. so maybe this is what it smells like lol. I still haven't played with it.. not time, but your description really helps! Thanks!

Did anyone happen to get the Glow by J. Lo? It's one of the perfumed oils, so not for use in candles. I have never smelled the original, but was told it was a cleanish smellling fragrance. I'm not sure I like this one.. smells kinda Tinkerbellish from the old perfume. (Am I dating myself here? LOL) I'll play with it a bit and see if I like it but OOB, not so much!

I use a 1:1 ratio of dpg : fo also. I love it! The scent lasts literally all day! Sometimes you think that the scent has gone, when actually you've gotten used to it. Maybe that could be the problem?

omg carol you scared me LOL I thought there were new ones that weren't on the full list haha *whew* I ordered a couple of them... Swimming Pool (hoping it smells similiar to Pool Towel by Gold Canyon) and Snow...
