  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had issues with them. I want to love them since they have WONDERFUL prices! But I ordered a bunch in October and paid by paypal. Stupid me forgot to change my address in paypal, so they got sent to the wrong address. I called them and let them know that they would be coming back since they went to the wrong address. Wow did she make me feel like I was an idiot for not changing my address in paypal. Oh well, my error I know. I told her to just refund me minus s/h when they got it back. Well it took a while for it to get returned to them, but it eventually did (a month maybe?) I waited for my refund, nothing. So I emailed them and she asked if I wanted a refund or the products. I told her refund. Waited, nothing.. Emailed them again (two more times since than) asking where my refund is, and I haven't gotten any type of refund or a response. It's not very much money, like $20 or so but it irritates me to no end that they haven't refunded me or even responded to my emails requesting it! And of course, it's been too long to go through paypal to get my refund. Not a good first impression
  2. You are going to LOVE these molds!!! You got them in the co-op right??? I could kiss her through this pc if I was able to for hosting that or I never would have bought them! I wasn't ready to step out of my B&B comfort zone to make soap, but kind of had to since that price was not to be missed! lol
  3. HA I freaked out until I saw Debra say that they were just OOS.. I wish they would leave stuff on their site but just put OOS instead of sending us all into a frenzy wondering if they discontinued it lol
  4. hmmm... maybe there isnt enough poly to support a heavy fo load? Or maybe the extra poly would make the spray clear? I dunno.. Cuz if you have to add poly to it you might as well make your own base with preserved water, poly and fo.. Water is much cheaper than a base lol
  5. You're welcome! That site is like my go-to LOL She's awesome! I love her anhydrous book.. I bought that a while ago and it's like a bible haha
  6. RIGHT! Shoot this forum could be your resume in itself!!!! Got my fingers crossed for ya!!!
  7. I wasn't sure myself, so I checked swift's blog and this is what she says about it: http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/2009/12/fractionated-coconut-oil.html hope that link works!
  8. wow that's GORGEOUS!!!! I can't wait until I'm able to do something like that!!!
  9. No, no problems at all! Just pulled on all 4 sides. It was still a bit soft, so the bottom took a little bit to come out. And yup! It's the one from the co op! I LOVE it! I'm glad I got 2 of them. lol Thanks everyone. I was so stinking excited yesterday I think I drove Tommy nuts.. it's alll I talked about! haha! Can't wait to try another one now! haha
  10. And here it is cut. I made them pretty small.. hoping they'll dry out faster so I can give them away and make more. HAHA!
  11. That's gorgeous!!!!! I did my first soap today too! Fun huh??
  12. Here's the picture of my first soap ever! I did it HP and scented with NG Pineapple Orchid. I didn't realize till I took the picture that my fiance put our initials on the top of it. LOL He's a dork!
  13. Ohhh I want to make a bastille soap! My twins just turned 13 and are starting to break out. Thought that would be great for their faces. Might have to buy one though, they'll be done with puberty before it finishes curing. haha
  14. Awesome!! You inspired me to finally try it! Yours turned out sooo nice and white! Mine is kinda yellowish...
  15. Candybee, you inspired me to finally make my first soap! I used the one you posted as your first, except lowered the olive oil and added cocoa butter. I did it HP, so it took dang near all day. But, I don't have anywhere to cure CP soap so it was HP for me. I love it! Now I wanna cut this bad boy! I used the silicon loaf mold from the recent co op, and Pineapple Orchid FO. I don't even have any colors yet, so it's uncolored. Should have seen me shaking while measuring the lye. HAHA I had to use two hands because I was shaking so much. Feel MUCH better now that I have my first batch under my belt. Can't wait for it to be ready to try out and see if I like it. Thanks for all the inspiration I've gotten from here!!! Laura
  16. Ok, thought of another question.. If I wanted to add cocoa butter would I add it AFTER the cook? Or do I just throw it in the crockpot with everything else? This is what I played with in soapcalc (not much off of the original) Olive Oil - 40% Castor Oil - 5% Coconut Oil - 25% Lard - 25% Cocoa Butter - 5% Hardness - 40 Cleansing - 17 Conditioning - 55 Bubbly - 22 Creamy - 28 Iodine - 57 INS - 154 Look good?
  17. I got a free sample with my last order from them and it was really nice!!!
  18. I'm not Kitn, but I make mine with 4% fo, 4% poly-20, 1% germaben, and 91% distilled water.
  19. Ok, so I'm going to try a basic soap recipe for my first soapmaking EVER! (After I get the nerve to open my lye... eesh!) I'm planning on using the one Candybee just posted that she tried (thanks girl!) So playing with soapcalc I had a question. Do I do anything different with the water as % of oils part? It's defaulted at 37%. Do I leave it there for HP soap or do I have to change it? Also, I want to add sugar to the water before adding the lye.. How much do I use? I read it makes it more fluid? I guess it's not a big deal since I'm not going to color this one. (I don't even own soap colors yet.) Oh, I bought a 5qt crockpot. I put in soap calc for a 2lb batch.. will this be the right size? OMG I'm so excited but nervous to make my first soaps! But.. since I bought 2 of the silicon molds I got in the wonderful coop recently I want to finally do it! I'm a-feared! LOL Ok, I think I have all my questions... I think if this one turns out good I'll try sprucing it up.. I have a lot of different things to add.. shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, SAO, avocado oil, borage, argan (ummm those last two are almost a year old, not sure if they're expired or not, need to look up the shelf life)_ Ok, I ramble when I'm nervous.. Can ya tell Im nervous? haha Thanks for any help! And tell me I'll be GREAT making this soap!!! I even bought goggles and some chem disposable gloves. LOL! Laura
  20. I don't know exactly what EO's you are wanting to use around your eyes. (that would make me kind of nervous having them near my eyes). You need to research each of your EO's that you are going to use to find what the max skin safe level is on them. And you also need to make sure they are safe around the eye area. What is it you are trying to do with the EO? I know there are some oils that are fantastic on their own for the eye area (depending on what you want to do). Well, this probably didnt' help much! lol
  21. There's also a kit I was just told about at www.lotioncrafter.com. I might one day delve into that.. I have so many "one day I'm gunna try's" going right now it's not funny! lol
  22. Oh really??? I'm definately going to try that out!!! It's definately more economical than buying the modifier!! Thanks for the tip!
