  1. I have the Odor Eliminator from NG and LURVE it. However, you can't use any bakery type scents because it will.. well.. eliminate that foody odor.
  2. Um... I am wiping the coffee I just shot all over my monitor when I busted up laughing at this!! That is sooooo funny and BRILLIANT!!!!
  3. I personally prefer epsom salts.. And the couple of reasons for that are: It's cheaper, and they dissolve pretty fast. I only make them for myself and not to sell, so I'm looking for the scent benefit. I think I would need a LOT of the salt for any other benefit. After I take a bath with them the scent lasts on my skin forever!
  4. Looks like they got rid of their regular linen spray base and changed it to the concentrate. Might be more economical, not sure how much the other stuff was, because this one you add water to. I REALLY like the odor eliminator from NG (except can't use bakery type FO's), and also make my own base with preserved distilled water, poly 20 and FO.
  5. The poly20 is what is making your spray the milky/cloudy color. For my body sprays, I use an EO/FO modifier I got from WSP. This leaves it clear, but you have to use double the amount of the poly. So I just use the colored bottles for my linen spray.
  6. Let me know how you like the lotion base.. I'm thinking of getting some of that! I ADORE their clean cotton fragrance.... I could pour it over my head. LOL To me it smells like Gold Canyon's Clean Sheets candle....
  7. I have to agree with Stella on this one. I DID get what I ordered, when I ordered it, and quite quickly. But I think it's totally shady how he closed up his business. He apparently didn't care about his customers.. at all.. If he did, he would have given some sort of notice. I don't think that any other supplier that closed up shop did so abruptly.. Well, glad you liked my stuff for the little time I was around, but now you're SOL. No, he did nothing illegal.. just VERY unethical. THAT is why I will NOT purchase anything from him again, no matter what name he runs under, or where he sells it. We depend on our suppliers, and there is NO way I would ever come to depend on someone who ran his company very unethical, and without care or concern to his customers. Who knows what he would do from here? I suspect that the whole "I'm building a new warehouse" was a complete lie (just my opinion). There are too many suppliers out there that actually care for their customers to spend any more time or money on his products from a seemingly fly-by-night company. Did he have good products? some, yes.. Did he have good prices.. yes GREAT! But if I can't depend on the company, I'd rather spend a few more dollars on a company I CAN depend on..
  8. Well hell... this SUCKS! I ADORE his White Amber (thank goodness I bought a big bottle from the classies) and I can't find it anywhere else!!! That was too fast of a turnaround for a new business and the lack of notice leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I won't order from him on ebay or where else he might sell at, even if I can never have my Amber White.. (I'm hording that bad boy for myself lol)
  9. If you don't want to make your own base, look at BCN's base. I use it and LOVE it!
  10. I use bases for most of my stuff.. lotions, shower gel, etc. If you do a search through the B&B forum, and also the recipe section you will find more info than will fit in your brain. LOL
  11. O-M-G! How much was the person selling these for??? Good grief, can't be cheap covering just the FO price alone!!! Not to mention the headache inducing sent this has GOT to cause!!!
  12. ohhh I like this idea! I do B&B and people at work are always asking what scents I have. This would be perfect to keep at work.. I'm thinking some wax, and a few drops of fo in each of them!!!
  13. Glad i found this thread. I just made Christmas Cabin from NG and there's a strong cinnamonish smell left in the pot. I'm trying to make a bunch of little 6oz wickless tins and wanted to go onto the next one, but was afraid to with this leftover scent! I think from now on since I'm making small batches I'll pour the wax in a glass measuring cup and add the FO to that. Ohhhh... my B&B is soo much easier than playing with wax! LOL
  14. I can NOT believe I just read all 4 pages of this thread and survived it. LOL I do b&b where everything = 100%, so I wasn't sure the same thing applied to making candles also. Stella, thank you so much for all the info you shared on here!
  15. I use the free Avery Design Pro also. But sometimes it just doesn't play well with my Windows 7 and crashes... grrrrr
  16. Never tried that... I wouldn't think if you only added a little bit if it would foam terribly.. Give it a try and let us know!
  17. I'm my best testor LOL For like the wash.. something to ask yourself, does it leave your skin dry or tight after using it? To me there's a fine line between dry/tight, and moisturized. I'm soo picky, I prefer that "silky" feeling afterwards.. Don't like a dry, powdery feeling at all. Does it leave the bathtub greasy? Are the suds sudsy? Just think of what you like in a product. Than pick a few close friends or family who will be TOTALLY honest with you after using it. Remember, everyone's opinions could be different.. Just like with lotion, I prefer mine to leave a slightly greasy feeling, while my friend detests anything with a hint of grease and looks for the powdery after feel. We are our own worst critics, and remember, you are NOT going to be able to please everyone. So do NOT take any slight criticism as a personal attack.. I've had my friend who detests greasiness test out EVERY lotion I've tried and I haven't been able to make her happy. While another of my friend ADORES the GMH lotion from WSP (which I don't really care for, again, that powdery feeling). HTH! Laura
  18. LOL Thanks for the help! I think I'll go feetless since Im going to just use the cheapie walmart candle plate.. And think I'll go with the deep 6oz ones, cuz don't wanna be burning that FO off too fast! Since I'm making these just for my house it should be fun to try to figure out how to make a bunch of different scented ones. I've only done a lb at a time in 1 scent.. Off to order!
  19. I know there are a bazillion threads on wickless candles, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question. What works better, shallow or deep? Or does it not matter? I'm just going to put these on a cheapie walmart warmer for my own use. I have the 4630 wax on hand and planned on using that. (I tried my hand at making candles and WOW I have to hand it to you chandlers... it's NOT easy, so I think wickless will be better for me). I was looking at purchasing tins, and see I can get both, but just not sure which one will be better. Thanks for the help! Laura I was looking at candlescience's tins and they have raised feet.. Is that ok with a wickless or do I not want that so it can sit all the way on the warmer? (As I'm typing this, it sure sounds likea dumb question. LOL)
  20. Goodness sakes you were busy!!! I wanna come sniff your house! lol
  21. Where do you get the Gain original fragrance? I've had people asking for that one, but only have the Island Fresh.
  22. I think fresh linen was the only one I didn't really care for. If I remember correctly it had kind of a floral note to it that I just didn't like. I have a couple of their laundry scents.. Country Clothesline (smells like Downy april fresh), Downy Clean Breeze, and Gain Island Breeze (or something like that) I really like all of them.. but have to say the Gain one was my fav. I really like BCN's Clean Cotton. I don't know what the Yank version of that smells like, but to me it smells just like Gold Canyon's Clean Sheets. I haven't tried Laundromat, or the NG version of Clean Cotton though... Hope that helps!
  23. Oh, ok. I don't think I've seen any of those either... sorry
  24. I've never tried that FO, but I do believe NG carries it also..
