  1. I have been researching for countless hours now and getting ideas from here, there and everywhere for my first facial/eye serum creation. I still do not know how to safely and correctly dilute my essential oils when I am using more than one essential oil in my formulation!!! Can anybody help me or point me in the right direction? I know how to dilute when I am using only 1 essential oil but more than that and I am stuck. PLEASE HELP!
  2. I meant essential oils in a carrier oil base. I am just confused I thought essential oils could be used diluted around the eye?
  3. I want to make an eye serum comprising of a number of EO and CO. I will use oils that are beneficial for the delicate skin around the eyes. My question is how do I know how much of each EO to use when I am using more than my EO and more than one CO. A worked example would make me very happy! TIA.
  4. OK thank you both very much for your input. I will look elsewhere then for some far more suited ingredients for my detangler. Thanks again!
  5. I'm thinking of making pencil eyeliners but stuck on where I can buy the eyeliner caps from. Any ideas??
  6. I'm making a spray hair detangler using water, aloe vera gel, glycerin and some EOs. Do I need to add any preservative?
  7. Ooh thank you thank youuu! I was waiting for anybody to tell me I am finally correct. I will check the calculators mentioned out. Once again thank you!
  8. I have been reading forums, posts and blog articles all to try and arm myself with enough knowledge to start making my own roll on FO. I think I may have finally got the formulary right! So, if I want to make (10) bottles of roll on and each bottle is 1/3 oz (8.8ml) I should use 88 ml in total (8.8 ml x 10 bottles) of FCO as my carrier oil. Say I am using a FO with an IFRA of 5.20% then I need to use 0.456 ml of FO per bottle Am I right?! I am at wits end with myself with these calculations.
  9. I am trying to formulate a body lotion using buttermilk powder and honey powder (among other ingredients of course). My question is do I just dissolve the two powders in a bit of water and they will be part of my water base or how do I do it?
  10. When it comes to packaging what can I use glass for and what can I use plastic for safely without worrying about any reactions. I read somewhere that essential oils and hydrosols should only be stored in dark glass? Is this true?
  11. I am working on a facial mist for inflammed, irritated skin. It will contain roman chamomile hydrosol and some calendula extract. The calendula extract is water soluble so Im presuming I add it to the hydrosol. Now do I have to add a preservative to this facial mist?
  12. I can't for the life of me figure out what ratio I should be using when it comes to FO and EO in a carrier oil. Like if I want to make a foot scrub with 3-4 different some essential oils, in a carrier oil obviously, how many drops of each EO and drops of the carrier oil do I need to use? And can I apply this rule to all my other ingredients? I'm scared of putting too much EO in and hurting someone!
  13. I have looked at fruit extracts and it seems perfect. Thank you SO much for your help CBE =)
  14. SilverofWax what part FO:FCO do you use?
