  1. Yeah, from what my fiance's mom told me there's lots of crafters out there too. She bought a bunch of candles from a lady a few years ago. This one goes from Galesburg to Aurora in June. That's like a 100 mile drive. mzphee - the one I was thinking of he told me is called scenic drive. I tried looking it up but didn't find much except for the actual booths in Knox County. But he said it's like a tour through alot of small towns. And people have tables and booths set up just on the sides of the roads.
  2. She said she did send the items to the person.
  3. mzphee - Isn't there some sort of craft show that's like miles and miles long down by Peoria? My fiance's mom was telling me I should set up in it. I wish I could remember what it's called but for the life of me I can't! I think it goes like through Galesburg maybe through peoria too? He's still snoozing away so I'll ask him about it when he gets up.
  4. crazzie do NOT listen to him! There is NO such thing as dreaming too high! There IS such a thing of people taking advantage (or trying to) of our dreams! Don't you dare stop dreaming!! You wouldn't be where you are now if you didn't follow that dream of yours! I'm glad to hear everything worked out ok!
  5. I agree that you need to involve the police, or small claims court now. It really stinks, but it angers me that she must think it's ok to take $500 worth of product and just walk away. In my opinion, there is no difference between that and her walking into a store and taking that stuff and walking away. It's theft, no way around it, and that is a LOT of product. I'm not sure what the laws are in your area, but I think $500 is an amount that is a felony, and not just a misdemeanor. Does she have voice mail? Maybe you can call and leave her a message stating that if she doesn't contact you in say 7 days you will have no other option than to seek legal assistance. I'm so sorry for you that you have to go through this. A 10 year business relationship is a LONG time and I know this must hurt you tremendously. But you need to do what's right for YOU, and that is getting your HARD EARNED money back!
  6. It's http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com
  7. I would just use a generic one like test on area before using, do not spray on wood or painted surfaces.. spray away from face.. Something like that? ICS doesn't tell you the ingredients???
  8. There's a lil candle shop in Galesburg I think it's called the Candle Hutch. They sell some supplies... Not bad on prices. Stopped there about a year ago when we were in Galesburg visitin the fiance's family. But I want to be surrounded by STUFF! LOL It's going to be even worse now that NG has said they are going to start carrying butters, oils, ewax, etc!
  9. I really wish there were suppliers by us! I'm so jealous reading about people who get to go to the supplier and smell the fo's and all that stuff! LOL
  10. LOL mzphee I don't blame you for that one!! My hunny is from Galesburg and I've been to Peoria a couple times and Pekin once *shudders* HAHA Although, Rockford isn't much better!
  11. Great! That's exactly what I needed to know! Thanks so much Kim!
  12. I just wish they'd give me my dang refund! LOL
  13. I added cocoa butter to mine. I bet that's where my yellowish color came from. Otherwise I used the same recipe as you. Oh well, I'm ok with it!
  14. That's my problem Candybee.. I already have about 200 scents... and I DONT sell yet! LOL 2 years worth of accumulation.. and my hunny won't let me get rid of any. LOL He said he loves looking in my FO cabinet and seeing it stocked. HAHA He also thinks I need to make him incense with everyone I don't like.. sheesh, that'd be like YEARS of incense for him (I can't STAND incense) Maybe I won't tell him and secretly put them all in a box and sell them as a lot on ebay. haha I keep reading everyone's reviews of FO's and think.. oohhhh I gotta try that one! lol tyty - I TRY to stick to my main supplier which is NG, but I keep opening up everyone's reviews of other companies eesh! There's a couple I want to try from different suppliers.. like I wanna try Black Canyon from Peak, Honey Patchouli from Elements, I LOVE Oakmoss and Amber from CS and also their Odor Eliminator (Only one I found that isn't citrus based). Sheesh, wish one place had everything I want! lol
  15. Just sayin.... Ok, I feel better putting that in writing. LOL Back to browsing TOO many supplier websites with TOO many choices to make.. ugh I think my brain is going to spring a leak.. lol
  16. Right now I use HDPE Boston Round bottles I get from WSP. I don't buy a whole lot from there anymore, so I really hate when I run out and can't get them from another place. So I want to change my lotion bottles. Does anyone use these for B&B? I wanted to stay away from PET for lotion since sometimes it's hard to squeeze them to get the lotion out. Is this bottle squeezable? I normally use PET boston rounds for my bigger sizes with a pump, but if the cosmo work for my smaller with disc caps I was thinking to use these with a pump to streamline my products. Does this work well with a pump? Since they're thinner do they tip over easily? This means I'm going to totally have to change my labels (ugh I DETEST labels) because obviously the bottles are different sizes, but I think in the long run it'll be better. Thanks much! Laura
  17. LOL Not the first time it's happened, sure won't be the last! haha!
  18. LOL We say that ALL the time at work when it's REALLY quiet and people are totally concentrating on work. LOL Outside of work I get the "huh" look if I ever say it. I'm so glad someone else had seen that video! LOL!!
  19. You could make a whipped butter, but I don't know how the beeswax would do in that. Or you could make a lotion bar with those ingredients. Have you looked on swifts site? I think she might have some salve recipes in her anhydrous area.
  20. KC where in IL r u at? I'm in Rockford. I sure wish there were suppliers close to us! lol
  21. My hunny uses Pekin as his insurance carrier for his bricklaying business. Luckily he's never had to use it, so they seem to be a good company.. they take his money happily LOL
  22. I'm glad to hear that your dilemma became easier. I just wanted to let you know that I don't associate the two organizations as being combined. The PP we had in our town provided free screenings, pregnancy testing, counseling, and help for young mothers. We had an abortion clinic also in town (that recently closed after 40 years because of all the controversy) so I think that might be the reason the PP didn't do much in that way. But, I applaud you for putting morals into your decision making. There isn't much of that in this world anymore. There's more emphasis on the almighty dollar than there is morality. Although I would have told you to go for it, I again applaud you for thinking with your heart before your (hopefully MUCH larger) bank account for this one!
  23. LOL that sounds more time consuming than the soap dipped petals!!!
