  1. Hi! I've been asked to put together samples to give out at a fashion show. Anyone ever put something like this together?
  2. Soooo I ended up doing white and blue CP soap. Full bars. And placing them in satin blue and white bags. I think they are cute. I don't have a pic of the soap itself. I am at work and will have to post it later. But each one is wrapped in plastic and has a sticker thank you note.
  3. try freezing it for 10 mins or so
  4. very nice! I like the six pack idea also. I am in Mass. I see you are in NH.
  5. I haven't been able to play. I have to get moving this weekend for a show I have in december so I will know more then. I am nearly 7 months preggers so I've been crashing out at 8 pm every night.
  6. Do you like the dastar one? is the smell sticking?
  7. Hi... I agree with CareBear. I do batches of 100 ounces now, but you are better off starting with a pound or two batches. Your batches will be more managable if your FO seizes up on you.
  8. yeah I've been reading them... it is enough to make you dizzy! I purchased Joy wax on a post that someone did for tarts. Totally on impulse. Didn't look into it more before i clicked BUY. I had read so much that day that I thought they had said Joy wax for tarts... but they didn't. Now i have 50lbs of Joy to play with....
  9. NP! I read it somewhere but I can't remember. It is a great tip cause it makes them a little shiny also. cleans them up nice. Question for you Stella ... I don't know if it was the base i was using but my clear soap I had to wrap right away or i got sweat bumps like with in 2 or 2 days. And NOT just a few like the whole soap would be covered. Now i did this in the summer so it might be better now where it is not as humid here now, I live in the north east, But I've never waited the 3 weeks. I guess I am due to tinker with M&P again. I sell my CP cause I have been doing that for years and have my recipe down. I've only started tinkering and testing in M&P the last say 6 to 8 months.
  10. Hi! Just wondering if anyone on here makes their own base for body spray. I am not looking to sell them, but rather my daughter loves to use them and wants a few of my soap fragrances in spray form. I saw bases on line but I was wondering if I might already have the ingredients from soaping to make a small amount for her. Thanks!
  11. And the 415 wasn't too soft? good job!
  12. ok that is a box set of soap porn. I am not worthy and I need to re-evaluate the current state of my own product. ;-)
  13. Your right.. touching will do that. You can wipe them down with alcohol. Also don't forget to wrap your soaps up. I made that mistake in the beginning and had little sweat bumps all over my soaps.
  14. Hi... MP soap is like candles. You need to keep testing out product till you get the right one for you. I must say though that the wax's and the testing with candles seems to be a lot more time and cost intense. i am sure it was a nice kit, but you don't know what kind of soap you are getting in those ususally. You can get ultra clear MP in bulk. Also if you add additives it will effect the clarity. As for the bubbles... I give a light tap tap on my moulds to try and get out the bubbles then spray with alcohol. remember the alcohol takes care of bubbles on the surface. Also the temp that you poured could of done this also. If you were a bit cool and bubbles go in the middle and couldn't get out because it wasn't fluid enough there isn't much you could of done other than remelting and pouring. but they are cute and don't give up. Keep testing and having fun!
  15. hi i didn't read through all of this so I apologize if someone else already made a comment on this. But I looked up the Liquid Par Optima and it says it is for lotions that don't use water, but this does. It is still ok to use?
  16. so i tested the batch above and they are ok but the bubbles are not great. I am going to take TallTayl's suggestion and add in Tartar instead of corn startch. i also found this recipe: 1/3 Cup Cornstarch 1/3 Cup Cream of Tartar 1 Cup Baking Soda 1 Cup- 1 1/2 Cups SLSA (Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate) 1 Tablespoon Tapioca Starch 1/3 Cup - 1/2 cup Vegetable Glycerine 1 Tablespoon Moisturizing Oil (In the video I am using Sulphonated Castor) 2 teaspoons, more or less Fragrance or Essential Oil 10 drops or less Food Coloring Just keep on testing
  17. I was going to suggest something like this also... I've seen this demo'ed on line. I've never done it. Worth a shot for really long curls.
  18. I do use Columbus for my BB stuff. I will melt and strain the shea and that helps. but I do mostly make soap stuff.
