  1. This has probably been covered already but I can't seem to find it. Is there a new supplier for Pourette Reddig-glo Dye Chips? I need more and would like to order them without having to re-test everything.
  2. When it comes to any of my past or current consignment accounts it has always been a percentage. In my experience the percentage has ranged from 25-40%, and sales have always come out of the stores end as stated in the contracts. All my contracts have had the sale info right in them, only ever had to mention it to 1 of my store. I would have never thought of the sale stuff myself but it was already in the first 3 contracts so made me think of it when my 4th didn't have it.
  3. I second using a high quality stamp, just make sure you are using quality ink pad also. I have seen how this looks you would never know the difference between printed and stamped. Only thing is I am not sure where to go to get the stap made.
  4. In my ceramic burners I have used both glass and metal, have never had a problem with either. If I make em myself (scented) I use a glass one as there is no use in wasting a cup for personal use also I only have plastic ones which I would never use in any closed burner. If I am just using the store bought ones (no scent) I leave em in the metal they come in. HTH
  5. Like Stella I cover mine in cold weather to slow cooling. I use one of those cheap styro coolers which works great.
  6. I put mine in cute little wedding favor boxes I found at a local party store. They fit 2 tealights and a business card and they are cheap. I tie a little dollar store curling ribbon to the top to keep the box shut and I have samples for under $1.
  7. Do you have any problems with them discoloring inside the clamshells?
  8. I would rather do clamshells; pour, label and done. Unfortunately my costumers just won't switch to them they want the tarts. I now use my clamshells for testers and for gift baskets.
  9. I don't use a wick in mine but I also make mine in dixie cups. I never had luck making the ones in muffin liners they always seemed to drown out. I now use dixie cups and wood chips, and just light the wood chips at the top. I have never had a problem with one done this way and they light first try.
  10. My parents have a stove and a brick fireplace and they use the ones I make all the time in both. In a stove there is no concern about staining. In a fireplace if your concerned about staining then just place a log under the firestarter and build the fire from there.
  11. Thank-you, that does clear some things up for me now to start using them and testing all over again. I know alot of people say using liquid is way better but I guess it is gonna take a while to get used to the new dye. Another question would be I get the retesting of the wicks in all my candles but will switching dyes affect my scent throw in my tart type items?
  12. Thank-you, I think I should clarify. The odd colors that someone gave me are not CandleWic all the ones I got from CandleWic are the same consistancy (finger paint thick). But when I ordered they were OOS of the basic green which is one of the misc. colors I had given to me. My issue is the green's consistancy is water and I am wondering if I can use it with the thicker red (for eg) to mix my colors or will the severly different consistancies mess something up?
  13. Ok so I took the plunge and got all my liquid dye. I went with EVO from CandleWic, and just got them in today. They seem really thick compaired to a few colors I have that someone had given me. The only I didn't order was green cause it was OOS and I had some plain green. I am wondering if a large difference in consistansy between suppliers is normal. Also will I be able to use them together to mix colors. Ones consistancy is like colored water the other is like finger paint paste. TIA
  14. Scents, I think I have to spreadsheet you are looking for if you haven't found it yet. Honestly I think you are the one who sent it to me, lol. If you want to PM me your e-mail I can send it to you.
  15. Vicky that will help ty, it must be a newer addition to the site as I thought I had gone over everything that site had to offer. It goes by FO but will give me that starting point I was looking for.
  16. I have decided to switch to liquid dye and was hoping for a starting point. Is there anyone out there who happens to have a color guide they are willing to share. I am looking for info like 1 drop ??? and 2 drops ??? make ???? in a pound of wax. I have tried the color wheel thing but I could not be any more of a moron when it comes to that thing. Figure if someone had a list for me to start at I could tinker with it from there to get the colors I wanted but would at least be starting in the correct range. TIA
  17. A problem my mother was having with one that size is a draft/cold zone. She placed it by a window thinking it would help disperse the scent. It ended up doing the oposite wether it was the draft or just being in a cold zone, it had warmed enough to be stuck to the dish but still had it's shape.
  18. If your wanting something smaller than a coffee can then just use a soup can. This is what my sons class use when doing a candle project in there class. They are not as flimsy as a soda can would work if you just wanted something smaller and easier to handle.
  19. TY again...I am leaning towards Peak's I think as I do already make regular orders from them. As for the white I am already using the white block, just figured if I was switching to liquid I would switch everything. The liquid would be more accurate rather than a shaving (not always the same) I could use one drop.
  20. I am looking into changing to liquid dyes and have gone through many threads here and still need help. I am gearing up for all the testing but with a little help from you all hoping I will not have to test the same color from different suppliers. TIA First up on the few white liquid available I only have found them at Alabaster and Just by Nature. What is the difference in suppliers as I have no clue on liquids. Also which is everyones preference on which one to get. Second as there is so many suppliers out there which is best to go with as for quality. Every supplier offers a liquid dye and they are all about the same in price. I did find one supplier at a seriously lower price Cc Candle Supply and am wondering if at that price I could have a quality issue.
  21. I have a mold that does somewhere between a pea and a cranberry. I got it here http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=cPolyurethane,p285 this may work not sure.
  22. My inventory program has a top 10 best seller also. So yah makes it real easy to see what is selling good at all times.
  23. I would be another for Peak's. It is one of those ones I can't keep in stock.
  24. I mainly use CanWax and Peak, I get my wax locally to save on shipping.
