  1. I have had nothing but great reviews on it. It is one of those really strong scents, almost over powering.
  2. This might be a bit bigger than your looking for but it is all I know of. http://www.candlewic.com/Store/Product.aspx?q=cPolyurethane,p285 They even have 3 different styles now.
  3. I am one of those Canadians and I hate the fees I get with UPS. So if the supplier won't ship USPS I see if they will use DHL. There shipping is a little more but you don't get hugh brokerage fees, DHL ends up cheaper in the end.
  4. I agree with getting your ducts cleaned. We rented a house and it was before I got into all the candles. Our walls were covered in soot, it was most noticeable along the ceiling line on outer walls. When we finally got the landlord to have the ducts and everything cleaned the cleaning guy told us that because we had vinyl siding it caused a static charge on those walls. This is why it was most noticeable in those areas. HTH
  5. I just use my regular votive wax add the high melt point vybar. I also use the glass t-light cup and insert it as an insulator. Never had a problem with any of them.
  6. Not sure if it the same bit I use but sounds like the same thing I do. My DH calls it a drill hole saw. When I make the pillar I make it with a hole plug in it so that it is very easy to center. Then I just cut out the chunk of wax use my heat gun to warm everything and then push in a glass cup. The t-light with it's own cup still fits in and your not trying to pry the cup out of the wax every time you change your t-light.
  7. I just screw the daisy lid on over the canning lid, as I make mine with warm/hot water then the lid seals down also. I have costumers that clean the lid set it under the jars and use it for when that add water. Never had a problem and have always used the canning lids.
  8. OK well back to square one. I called Glass Plus More in Wisconsin and Mark figures it will not be feasible to ship to Canada. It was mentioned that that there is a Glass Plus More in Ontario but I can seem to find it anywhere on-line. When i asked Mark about a Canadian outlet he said there wasn't one. So I am on the search again for a supplier of glass votive holders that will ship to or located in Canada. Again thank-you for any help that can be given.
  9. any on out there do glass etching? I have been asked to do votives in glass for my best friends wedding. this is not a problem but he doesn't want a label on them he wants his wedding info etched on the holders. I need someone who can tell me the best supplies to use and hopefully where the best place to get easy step by step instructions. TIA
  10. I have 2 large "button" molds, atleast thats what the supplier called them. I think dotz would basicly be the little buttons cut in half. here is the link http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=cPolyurethane,p285 if what they look like.
  11. thank-you both but I am a searh dummy. can one of you please post a link to either site. thank-you
  12. I have been asked by a long time friend to make votives for his wedding and he wants them in glass. I normally don't pour my votives in glass but he wants to have them etched as a keepsake. That way once the votive is burned guests still have something. Now I am looking for somewhere to get about 100-150 votive holders. I need somewhere that will ship to Canada. He figures he will do the etching himself so that will save him some money. Thank-you in advance for any help.
  13. I usually have some small error in something with my suppliers in the US. Peak is the exception, I order from them the most and never a error or delay. I agree hang in there it is a hugh rareity for them to make a mistake.
  14. I agree the only thing I know to do with scrap wax is fire starters. I have tons of scrap wax that I have been given from family and friend that I am trying to find another use for as fire starters just don't do well around here. As for the debris it is easy to get out with paint strainers. I get mine at NAPA for about .10 each and use them all the time. They work great for all types of debris, animal hair is my main use as no matter what I do my presto pot seems to get my cats hair in it. To keep their hair out of my finished candles I use the paint filters as I pour from my presto pot to my pour pot.
  15. Another option which I have used on other types like chocolate cherry. I would make chunks in MJ and then do the over pour in brownie. I find this makes it a lot easier than trying to mix oils just perfect. HTH
  16. I am just starting with some wickless and do love them. Just have to say though for the last 5 years I have never had to burn a tart till it was dead to have to put in a new scent. Maybe it is my t-light burner but I have never had a problem with tarts sticking, my dish is removable and I just tap it on the bottom. Then when I want a new scent I just pop out the one that is in there and put in a diff. scent and save the popped out one for later. JMO
  17. I find that using the same amount of FO per lb as I do with my votives the tarts still ends up stronger. JMO but I think that as soon as you add a wick to any candle the flame is not only burning up the wax but the oil also, giving it less throw than a tart.
  18. well as for your color if lets say you have a 4oz bottle that cost X amount. You take and count how many drops are in .1oz then times that amount by 40 (the amount of .1oz in 4oz). Then you take X cost of dye and divide it by X drops in the 4oz bottle. And you now have the cost per drop. And yes Jason is amazingly quick at returning e-mails, and pretty much any time. I e-mailed him on Saturday night at about midnight my time (which if he is in Burnaby BC where the website says it was 11pm). I had an answer within about 30min.
  19. I am currently using this program and I love it. One thing that I haven't figured out or maybe it won't do it. When in products and you put in all your components for that particular scent. I have these all figured down to per lb which makes 16 tarts. Now it tells me cause I sell a tart for $1 that I am loosing ruffly $2-3 per lb. But in reality I am selling 16 not 1 so I am making money. It has no where for you to say that X amount of components makes X amount of each. Also if you are making tarts and tealight with a batch it has no way of adding to both inventories.....you have to adjust it manually. Just a few things that can be changed but all in all it is a good program.
  20. I much preferred the craft business management system one as it can be used for almost any business type. You get to set everything up the way you want. There are more options for each item and it keeps track of more information. I like the fact that all aspects of the business can be tracked with one program.
  21. TY misty I will give it a try before I make up my mind. Now off to find the trial DL I saw earlier.
  22. I have actually given both a try and I much prefer the first one it is more user friendly and it covers everything. I still haven't made my final decision yet but I am leaning toward the Craft Business Management one.
  23. I agree this program is great. I think I might have to break down and get it. DH is gonna hate the price but hell he hate all my scents also, sucks to be him. It is going to be a hugh help and a lot cleaner than all the different excel files and print outs I have. The time I save alone will be worth the price!
