  1. It is Party Lite, I have had one of there big chunky holders break with my votive. It was a 2 pc set and only one of them busted. I have some of there more expensive holders that I won't burn my candles in. They are crap and most of them are thin glass. If you check the temp of one of there votives burning, they burn cooler.
  2. I would love it, please share.
  3. I agree with Cara on gemlite's pineapple. It is one of my best sellers with compliments galore. IMO it smells like fresh cut pineapple and amazingly it is one of theirs that smells good OOB.
  4. I have good success with a bunch of there scents. If you would like to PM me on specific one's I could tell you what my opinion is or if they are good sellers. I have about 35 of there scents with about 20 in my selling line. HTH
  5. JMO but with those gemlite one's get them in wax an see if you like them. I use some of there scents that I have kept around from when I started out. The only one out of the one's you listed that I have is the Pear/Raspberry and I hate it but it is one of my best sellers. I think all there vanilla's are gross and yes most smell off OOB but I have about 15 that I still use and are good.
  6. I have both Cappuccino Hazelnut and the Hyacinth and I use 1 oz per pound. Now I don't make jars but in votives, tarts, pillars and tealights it is plenty strong.
  7. I have the same thing and it was my doctor that told me to get it. I get sevear eczema in the winter. If it wasn't for my little paraffin spa I wouldn't be able to bend my fingers without them bleeding.
  8. I was wondering myself if you have to use a wick tab for pillars? I buy the pre-tabbed wicks for votives and was wondering if I should do the same for pillars.
  9. I am another one of those that can't give them away. My main use for mine now is to make scent testers then I don't have worry about the scent mingling. As it is when I first started I had to explain tarts as even my family kept asking where the wick was. Now I just stick with the tarts!
  10. My mom collects all of the house's from PartyLite. On the instructions they have included in the box it states that for any of the interior tealights you must use the metal ones. It is for the same reason listed above, it just gets to hot inside them.
  11. Thank-you all, you have been very helpful! I have no idea why they can't just put it back in and be done. Ooooh that would be so hard. I might just have to try the lighter trick.
  12. I am using wick tabs with votives, all my wicks are pretabbed when bought. But they are saying the whole assembly is falling out the bottom.
  13. How many of you seal the wick in? I am trying to find the best way to do this. I have normally just put the wick in bent it over and done. I have recently had people complain that they can remove the wick. Now I could seal the wick in using the same griddle thing I use to level my pillars. It is just time consuming and I don't see a difference in the quality. Just wanted to see what the normal is, TIA.
  14. Here is a few I have found. Albert Beeswax & Candle Supplies(Edmonton) www.wicksandwax.com Canwax.com Lynden House International Inc.(Edmonton) Wick Your Wax Candle Making Supplies Hope this helps!
  15. Thank-you all for the help. I guess it could be that I am just being picky. :embarasse If it keeps bothering me maybe I will have to give the curved element a try if I can find one, lol. I had a hard enough time trying to find a new straight one locally.
  16. Thank-you so much for all you help. I will look forward to hearing about what I can do to fix this.
  17. I am sorry guess what I am wrapping would help, lol. I am wrapping votive's and tarts, the tarts are coming out awesome. It is the votive's I am having a problem with. I am poking pin holes in the tubing and will try the spoon trick. I can get them to look good until the corners start to shrink in then they look like crap. So I basically have 2 sides that are smooth and professional looking then where the corners sucked in they are all bumpy.
  18. I know everyone is sick of shrink wrap questions but I am getting frustrated. I just recently changed from cello bags to shrink tubbing but I can't get them smooth. I am using 3" tubbing, using my sealer at the top and bottom. When I go to shrink them down the corners end up looking nasty. Could anyone give me any hints or maybe I am doing something wrong? Thank-you to all in advance!
  19. Thank-you all for your help. I seriously don't know what I would do without this site. DH figures I am never off of it. lol
  20. I am really hoping someone can point me in the right direction or help me on this. I know I saw this somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it. I am trying to figure out how much wax will fill a pillar mold without actually having to pour one of each mold. I mainly make votive's and different types of tarts/melts although I have a couple costumers that would like certain pillars. I have the molds but don't want a ton of scented colored pillar wax left over. Thank-you in advance Sag_77
  21. I love the clamshell idea, never even thought about it. I have the small watch makers tins but to me they seem to small.
  22. Everyone is about the Bell and Company blanks are the only ones available in color. Now what I am trying to find out is if it is possable to just color them using liquid dye?
  23. So it is possible to use just one wick for all my votives. When I test my votives I try to do so in one burn. I know it is not the proper way but I also know that my costumers burn in long periods. Then when it comes to my mixed ones...thats where I ran into the trouble...I could burn 2 with the same wick and get different results. I use IGI 1230...as it is easiest to get locally for me...and have had best over all results with the 34-40 Sp.zinc wicks. I think I might just switch to those for all my votives as it is the one I use for about 80% of my candles any ways. Thank-you again for all your help!
