  1. I use gb 444. I started w/ 464, but the 444 releases easier.
  2. If I am thinking of what you are thinking, I believe its just scented wax, not dyed, unless you color it to give it a carmel appearance for some, but the trick to drizzling it like that is doing it at a cooler temp. HTH, but I am new myself
  3. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=168602 I checked that pic out, and I do have something similar, but it isnt on wheels, Im so clumsy, I would probably knock it over if it was, LOL.... Well, I figured out that the charger is what is bad w/ my laptop, so I am getting ready to see if i can get one off of ebay, and HOPEFULLY, i can get some pics to show you all later this week, I work tues and wed night, so probably wont be till thursday. I def want to show ya what i did though!
  4. Alot of you have mentioned rolling tables/carts. That may be something I find that i want when I get down there working. I am still waiting for my laptop to work again, I think the battery has finally given out. I got as far as downloading my pics, and then it died on me.So, as soon as i get it all working, I will post some pics up here!
  5. Mostly I use popsicle sticks. If I have a jar that is wider than that, then I rig up these stir stick things and tape em down. It can be tricky, but it works.
  6. thank you so much for all the helpful hints! you girls sure have it together! I desperatley needed a room for all this and to get organized b/c i was spending so much time back tracking and looking for things, not to mention the clean up time in my kitchen. I have taken some pics and as soon as i get my laptop working, I am going to download them. The room is a work in progress, and i havent gotten to work in it yet, so as mentioned, I may get in there and decide something just isnt going to work like i had thought! I think after i get all the kinks in the room worked out, I do need to come up w/ a inventory process. In the past i have had placed an order, and then b/c of my poor inventory work, had to order more not long after, and of course I had wasted $ on shipping! so, I am going to try and get these pics up asap. If any of you see anything you want to comment on, feel free, I am not easily offended and I welcome the suggestions!
  7. Update: my husband went to home depot this afternoon, and I am anxiously awaiting to see what he bought me to get this room organized. I am taking before and after pics!
  8. Lastly, I used to struggle with my wicks no end until I read someone else's suggestion to use one of those over the door clear shoe holder thingies. Now I have assorted wicks clearly marked and easily accessible. Although I buy by the thousand, I store the big bags in boxes and keep a few hundred handy to grab. I had thought about doing that, and i actually already have one in my attic bedroom, that I am not using! I am soooo excited to get this room put together!
  9. GREAT IDEAS!!! I knew I could count on everyone on here! I am going to look into all these great ideas! I def want a work table high enough that wont make my back hurt! Thank you everyone!
  10. HI!!! I am up late again (I work nights 7p-7a), so on my nights off, I cant sleep and my mind wont turn off! So, here is my situation! I am going to make a "candle workshop" room in my basement. I am sooooo tired of my kitchen being a mess all the time, and all my supplies scattered throughout my house! I am looking for ANY suggestions/recommendations for the workshop, things that will better organize it, places to look for old tables, cabinets, (I have a post on craigslist), I want to organize my labels, wicks, jars,molds,.... all of it! Any ideas as to what you all do for organization and area layout would GREATLY be appreciated! Thanks EVERYONE!
  11. I tried that, I have even made some w/ and w/out CO, and that didnt seem to help. so, I was going to try some USA and maybe also try to add a little paraffin to harden it up. maybe this weekend i will work on it... Idk, i have 144 votives I have to get filled for a wedding,so I MAY not get to it:)
  12. I have gone that route also when explaining about how I scent the candles. I generally use 1.2 -1.5 oz / pp. Some scents, like lavendar, I use even less, its sooooo strong and clean cotton is REALLY strong too.
  13. I have tried making them w/ 444 multiple times, and they have always broke, atleast in 2 pieces. I dont know if any additives would help or not. I was going to play around w/ it when i had more time, but that days hasnt come yet.
  14. I like the cloth look! I was putting them on some of my JJ, but b/c of time I dont do it anymore, unless its a gift or something like that. So, I know what ya mean, about "saving time"
  15. HI! I like the gb444 the best thus far, but honestly, I have only used that , 464, and cb advanced. For what I wanted to do, the 444 worked the best. In my experience of finding best priced, I did lots of research, on here (everyone was so helpful) and on internet, oh, I made lots of calls to suppliers too, but the best thing was to find a place you can pick up your supplies at b/c the shipping is outrageous! HTH~ and good luck w/ your testing:)
  16. I was up late the other night working on em, but I just havent come up w/ something that will look, fit, and "read" right on both products???? I will just have to keep workin on it I guess!
  17. Thats a good idea to have for local customers to browse. I just use my facebook for people to look at, but never thought of a site just to show what I have. I think I will have to research that.......
  18. I too, am struggling w/ labels. I want something that I can use for my jar candles and tart bags, and just customize the scent name. I am trying to make changes that will save $ in the long run. Hope you figure something out:)..... Im sure I will be thinking on this one for awhile.....
  19. I asked some of my friends about what they prefer, and they liked the tarts better b/c they dont have to break them apart, they just take out of the bag (bakery bag). So, I decided not to do clamshells based on that. The clamshells sure seem like the easier way to go though. My friends were previously scentsy customers before i started making candles/tarts:)
  20. I kind of like the cracked look, not sure how it would effect the burn quality? but I do like it!!!!
  21. hi, I use the 444 and havent had fo seep out to date, However, I too, am still new at this. I usually use 1.2-1.6 oz of FO/# of wax. Some of my scents i use the co in too. I use that at 1 tbsp/#. not sure if that helps you or not, but just thought I would add that. Hope you get it all worked out:)
  22. They look wonderful! I wish i could get into soap making, i just dont have time to do all the research and then time to make em!
  23. I too wonder how some people have the time to make all that they do. I have such a hard time making the one size of candles and tarts! I did make some cupcake tarts today, and they were pretty time consuming! I dont think I would make em to sell, maybe as gifts for family and friends.
  24. Hi! your candles look great! testing is a pain, but its just part of it, Im very new also, and still test various things. anyway, in my experience w/ the 444 and 464 they both burn the same pretty much and both have excellent ct and ht, I liked the 444 a little better b/c it releases from my tart molds easier, so I have decided to go w/that wax. I now get it from candlemakers store as well. I had read a question about measuring out fo, I dont use the pipettes, I just use the plastic containers that baby food comes in, b/c they bend enough that if i over pour, then they are flexible enough that i can pour the excess back in the bottle w/out wasting oil and leaking down the sides, etc. well, good luck w/ all your testing.
