  1. I was wondering if anyone has found a maple toddy that does great in this wax and a creme brulee. I have tried 2 different creme brulees, and wasnt that impressed.
  2. I will have to try the black cherry! I was wondering how strong it would be! I want the STRONGEST possible:) Thanks for sharing:)
  3. AHHHH, I LOVE them! VeRy creative! Great job!
  4. I did some more testing....... The Candlemakers Store Apple Creek- 1.5 oz/# Pumpkin Spice- 1.5oz/# Cierra's Harvest Spice- 1.5oz/# Harvest Pumpkin- 1.6 oz/# ( really strong, can probably do 1.5oz) Apple Jack- 1.6 oz/#- smelled like a cider to me I have many more to test, just need to find the time to do it! I will continue to update this, These all did GREAT in the 464!
  5. This is a great thread! I love seeing more about the 464 on here! I have found that pouring hot works the best for me, I am not sure of the exact temp when I pour into room temp jars, but I'm guessing 155 or 160, maybe 165 sometimes, just depends when I add fo, etc. I dont do all this to an exact art, but I still get great throw, so I am not stressing over it. I was making tarts w/ the 464, but have found that 444 is much easier to work with for the tarts and have done some jars too and I think its just as good as the 464. 464 makes great smelling tarts, but can be harder to release from some molds, but not all. I have a link started about fo's that do well in this wax and when I get a free minute, I plan on updating that. I think its nice to know what does good and what doesnt, and if it helps someone else save money and time, then I am all for it! Cant wait to see more posting on this thread!
  6. Hi, I have been using 464 and had great ht and ct. Recently tried the 444 b/c the 464 is soooo soft that I was having a hard time getting it out of some of my tart molds. I havent noticed a difference in ht, I just noticed that it comes out of the molds LOTS easier! I think I will do the 464 for my containers and the 444 for tarts. So thats just my little input, hth:) Natalie
  7. Hi, I use eco 10 wicks in 8 oz jj w/ 464. I usually do 1.4 to 1.5 oz of fo, I think some I can use a little less, but here lately I have just been doing the 1.5. I started out doing all of them at 1.6, but I was going through too much oil and it isnt cheap, so I cut back and still have great ht! I put a post on here at one time for the 464 making note of which oils did great in this wax and who the supplier was and the amt of fo added. I have to update that, b/c I have done some more testing. Hope this helps:)
  8. thank you richard. I have tried using the avery site, and I am still figuring it out. I cant figure out how to get my pics on templates. I think my husband is going to wmart tomorrow and getting me some print shop software. Maybe that is the missing link to my confusion.
  9. Thanks so much everyone! my next step was to figure out where I was going to get some kraft labels from! I LOVE this site and everyone is always so helpful! Have a great weekend:) I will be working, not making candles, but in the ER. I enjoy making the candles and dont think of it as work:)
  10. I LOVE bnb from cs! This is my second favorite next to the pumpkin souffle! I put it in 464. I get great ht!
  11. I love pumpkin souffle! We just bought the 5# jug because we were going through it so fast. I use 464 and eco 10 wicks in 8 oz jj.
  12. Thanks so much. I will check out both recommendations:smiley2:
  13. Hi, I have been wanting to make my own labels, but just cant find what I am looking for. I have looked online and went to office max, along w/ searching various threads on here, and no luck yet. Right now I pay someone to make my labels, they are super cute, but I hate having to order them and wait, sometimes I need them sooner and at last minute. I want to make a 2x4 kraft label w/ primitive/ country pics on it along w/ my candle name, etc. I pay 1.90 for a sheet of 10, seemed like a good price? but maybe i can save by making my own too. If anyone knows of a software that I can make my own labels w/ these types of pics and assorted fonts, PLEASE let me know. Thanks so much. Natalie
  14. Thanks so much for sharing! Its nice to get some more info out on this wax! I have been wanting to try out mc! I am going to be pouring some candles today w/ a fo from a company called cierra's. So, later in the week I will start burning them and put up some rew results.:smiley2:
  15. Thanks so much for sharing! I really like the wildberry mousse! I do notice that sometimes I have a hard time smelling my candles, I have to wait a few days after I have made them to really smell again! I hate getting that candlenose! My sister helps me test scents at times too b/c of candlenose.I hope you get the wildberry mousse worked out, I think you will like if so. Thanks again, Natalie
  16. I finished reading the rest of the posts and there are definatley some things that I didnt think of such as the temp I pour my first candle at vs. the temp I pour my last candle at??? I am sure they arent the same temp, but I dont have any problems w/ my HT, I do notice that some of the tops arent as smooth as others, and I gues that would have to do w/ the varying pour temps. I havent done more than 2 pounds at a time, fyi. All in all, w/ the 464 I try to add fo and pour between 165 and 175. Oh, I do heat my wax up to 180-185, just incase anyone was wondering. This process is working for me, and my throws w/ these oils are great. I didnt see alot on this specific wax regarding fo and their throws, so that is why I posted this initially.
  17. I dont always get the fo right in at 175 and so as long as its above 165, I add it and my throw is still great. I try to do it all between 165 and 175. I found it too complicated to only add the oil right at 175 and then pour right at 170, so I give myself a 165-175 window to add fo and pour at. sorry, that was complicated, as I re-read it. Hope that makes more sence.
  18. Here is a list of FO and suppliers that I have tested and do well in GB464. This testing has been done in 8 oz. JJ using ECO 10 wicks. I add fo between 165 and no more than 175. I try to pour around 170, no cooler than 165. I also make tarts w/ this same wax and pour temps. I will continue to add to this listing, and re-post up dates. Natalie PS- I always am interested in knowing what others have tested and throws well in this wax! Candlescience- 1.4 oz/ # wax Apples and Maple Bourbon Mac Apple Blueberry Cheesecake Pumpkin Souffle Cinnamon Buns Banana Nut Bread Love Spell Wildberry Mousse Strudel and Spice Peak- 1.6 oz./ #wax Wild Raspberry Cinnamon Buns- (not as strong as CS however) Just Scents- 1.5oz/#wax mulled cider- this is a light scent, but has excellent throw! Cranberry Spice
  19. Hi, I use the 464, I get some frosting, but nothing i cant live with, and no one has complained to me. I did notice that the hotter I poured the better the tops came out. I pour around 165 or 170. I am so new that at this point I am not worried about the tops, I am more concerned w/ what fo throw good in the wax. Did some burn testing today, and was gonna post results on that later:cheesy2: Hope you get the kinks worked out. Do you by chance happen to know a pumpkin pie scent that is strong and throws well in this wax. I use pumpkin souffle from cs, but I am wanting a spicy pumpkin for this fall/ winter. Thanks, natalie
  20. I did check w/ makes scents in ohio also, forgot to post about that, a case there is 59.99, so if i figured in cost to drive there, even in our small honda, it would be about the same as the overall cost of what i am paying to have candlesandsupplies ship to me. So, back to the drawing board i guess. Go figure, I would pick the hardest wax to find in ohio! I hate to switch b/c we have already put so much time and $$$ into testing fo that work w/ this wax. I guess i will keep looking. Maybe in the future something will change and someone else will start to carry it, that is closer to me and reasonably priced per case. Thanks so much to everyone! I will keep looking too....
  21. Thank you so much for all the suggestions! i have researched them all! I was already buying from cs, so I was looking for the 464 closer, preferably in ohio, so i could pick it up and b able to afford to buy more than one box. The cheapest place that i could find the 464 including the overall cost of shipping was candlesandsupplies.com. I got a 50# box for 68.10. I was paying 72.69 at cs. Gateway foods was $70 (incl. s&h), candlemakers store was 83.69(s&h), Thecandlesource only carried soy125, no 464 , boleks only carried 444, however the shipping was only approx. $20. So, I may consider to switch to that type of wax in the future if I cant find a place w/in an hour to pick up. I really dont want to drive 2 hours, if I can have something shipped reasonably. Do many people drive that far to pick up their wax. So, I did find a cheaper place to have it shipped, but I am still taking suggestions on places that may be in dayton or columbus, or that area. Thanks so much. Nat
  22. Hi, I am from ohio, closer to Dayton and am wondering if anyone knows of any place in ohio or even Dayton that sells gb464. I have searched the interent like crazy and cant find a wholesaler at all in ohio! Didnt know if I was overlooking anything. I was gettting ready to put in another order and pay the 33+ dollars in shipping and thought I would give this a try before doing so. This site is great and I hope I get lots of great responses! Thanks all:) Natalie
  23. I will try cutting back some and see if i still get great throw. I would def like to save some money on the cost of oils. We go through it like crazy! Thanks
