  1. Lol, looks real enough to eat:cheesy2:. Nice:yay:
  2. I wouldn't worry about it. People are still buying my soaps even though my soaps are several time the cost of the soaps in the store. It's about quality to most people:). Don't compare yourself to walmart. People that still buy candles and such at walmart are just not converts yet:laugh2:. I should know, the first handmade candle I bought turned my life around and I never bought another store bought candle again. Same went for the B&B stuff:).
  3. I agree with the others. Very pretty candle BTW:smiley2:
  4. My B&B sales are strong. I quit making candles to just concentrate on the B&B. Hope it gets better for everybody soon.
  5. I think they may depend on your area. I started out just doing candles and started doing B&B just a few years ago. The B&B stuff sold so great for me I dropped candles altogether. It was a positive thing for me. People always need soap or lotion. I would say start out small with it and see how it goes. I never really did match my candle scents to my B&B. Most my candle scents were not skin safe.
  6. That is crazy! I can't believe she called you and told you what she did and asked if it was safe. Just CRAZY!!! IMO I don't think I would be showing her how to make candles. I would tell her about this crazy new thing called "g00gle". Someone like that would end up on my never sell to again list fast!
  7. Thanks for the replies. I been messing with the soaps for a few days and have come to the conclusion that they must be completely shrink wrapped. Even leaving the ends un-wrapped will make for slimy soap:(. Thank goodness at least my soaps are fully cured. I don't think shrink wrapping uncured soaps would be a good idea. They only thing that I am not going to like is that my booth probably will not have that awesome scent throw, lol.
  8. What do you think I should do? Completely shrink wrap? Maybe stick them in completely sealed plastic bags? I stuck a few naked bars outside a few minutes ago and they sure did get slimy fast. Well, I guess I'll stick a few completely shrink wrapped bars outside and see if that keeps the slime away. Thanks for the reply Scented.
  9. Years ago I did many outdoor shows selling candles. I have not done an outdoor show yet with my CP soaps. I signed up in a 3 day outdoor market for next month. Were I live and where this market is, it is always sooo humid. That did not cross my mind when I signed up. I normally have two paper bands on my soaps, one going longways then the other going around so only the very tips of the corners are exposed. Then I have a shrink wrap band that goes one way around the soap and leaves the ends unwrapped. Should I just shrink wrap the whole bar?? Does CP sweat if left out in the humidity for too long? I almost hate to totally wrap the whole bar because I want people to easily smell the scents. I will do what I have to do tho to protect my soaps... TIA
  10. I would be sad if they closed our P.O. We live in a ridiculously small town. I know all the carriers and the desk people that work for the P.O. here. Very nice people. Our mail is always here before noon, and our mailman has even called me a few times to ask where to leave my packages when I am not home. Our P.O. gets quite a bit of business, it's always busy, so I'm hoping that keeps ours alive. I know they already closed the town next to us P.O. I heard on the news that four more will close in the Houston area.
  11. My best selling items are scented with their FO's. They are the main company I order from. They have great customer service.
  12. Just out of curiosity, is there much difference between a regular bar of CP and an avocado one?
  13. I get that sometimes too, but that's if I got too impatient waiting for my soap to cure enough. When that happens to me, I just set my soap aside for a bit longer and I have no more problems. Maybe yours isn't quite cured enough to use.
  14. I love prim stuff:). I wouldn't mind seeing pictures. I love looking at the purses and other things people make around here, very talented. I love looking at anything handmade.
  15. We don't do that much M&P, it's something my kiddo likes to do for fun sometimes. We sometimes use the small box for embeds/chunks. M&P molds seem to not last long around my house. Maybe one of these days I'll buy some good ones instead of the cheapo's at the Hobby Lobby. I was just issuing a warning to those not too familiar with M&P and just looking to play around with it:).
  16. Just make sure that you have something in there pretty liquid proof or it will seep out. I use plastic wrap in a small cardboard box when me and my kiddo make M&P soaps. Make sure you tape it to the box tho:laugh2:, big potential mess if ya don't.
  17. Well poo, I just "discovered" them too....
  18. I liked it. It is a great motivational read, it has a lot of good business info. It is not a how-to-make candles guide. When I bought mine it came with fundraiser and other forms.
  19. I would also love to here what others have soaped from LS:yay: Here my list of Lone Star scents that have came out great in CP~ Sweet Pea Verbena Bamboo Love Spell Cool Citrus Basil Tommy Bahama Lavender Mulberry I have Happy that I will be soaping within the next day or so. I soaped their Pink Grapefruit, it smelled and ended up looking like one of those pink school erasers, lol.
  20. I use Bittercreek's flavors. They are pre sweetened so that's one less thing I got to worry about. I let my balms sit for a few days before I try them, they seem to need to cure a bit. Maybe that's all your needs.
