    If you are using ONLY beer for your liquid, make sure your beer is completely flat. Leave it in an open container for a few days. When adding lye, do so very, very, very slowly. If you don't do that you could end up with the mixture foaming up and out of your container leaving you with a dangerous mess to clean. I always put my lye container in another container (like a larger plastic shoebox) and then in the sink. It sure is stinky but makes some awesome soap.

    Shoot, I have replaced all my water with beer. Beer makes great soap:)! You really don't need water just liquid of some sort. Just run recipe though cacl., then replace water with your desired liquid. Used coffee for my liquid a few times.....

    M&P is cool. I make both CP and M&P. When I get in the artsy mood, I'll use M&P because there is so much you can do with it, like embeds, chunk, curls of colored soap in clear soap, and so on and so forth. IMO both are fun to make and no I don't consider M&P cheating.

    Sorry to hear about that.... I haven't done a show myself in a while. Been to a few as a customer and here in my area the numbers are so low. Bums me out because I used to love to do shows. I am just going to hold off and if the economy starts to pick up I'll start again with the shows.

    I learned real fast to melt the lard as slowly as possible or you can get that "smell". But yes, lard makes wonderful moisturizing soap.

    Hey Misty, Ya know I would have never thought to use North's. Duh, stupid me. I know the South's just seizes no matter how I try to soap it. I get a lot of request for CM soap, so I need to come up with something and fast. I tried again tonight and the darn thing seized and started heating up on me as I was scooping it into the mold. Oils and lye was around 85 and was doing full water. Every time it smells great, just UGLY, lol. I'll have to try BCN. Thanks

    Hi everyone:grin2:! I am looking for a Cucumber Melon FO that won't seize in CP. I have used the one from BCS and that FO will seize so fast I can barely get it in the mold. Sucks because it smells pretty good in CP but always looks like crap. I tried everything. I normally water discount and do room temp. Even full water and warm oils I can't manage to make pretty soap out of this one. So does all Cucumber Melon fo's do this or is it just BCS'???? Any opinions would be much appriciated:wink2:.
