  1. I did a JS Holiday Rendezvous tart here at work and THREE people all said the same thing- that it smelled JUST like the incense in church. Just a thought....
  2. I can definately say that of the 3 I tried from various suppiers, Mill Creek's Sweet Pea and Me threw the best in our 50/50 blend @ 9%, CD wicks! HTH!
  3. We work out of my basement as well, and a good thing cause it has become a mess!!! LOL! We pour only at night when the kids have gone to bed and then it's a marathon, I don't put the time aside to clean it up! We have a work area that my husband built for us when we started, have already out- grown that, and between cases of wax, foam boxes for cooling, and all of the other boxes of supplies, shelves for pour pots and FO, I cannot imagine doing this in any other part of my home! We did most of our pouring in the cold last year- probably 50-some degrees as well, but this year we tried to finish up while it was still pretty mild out-we are in SE PA. We slow cool everything in styrofoam and haven't had any problem yet-we do containers and votives. HTH!
  4. I was interested in another thread where folks were talking about soy containers hardening more after time, and that this may possibly change wicking. Has anyone who does 50/50 noticed this same thing? Gosh, I hope not...
  5. I am cruising FO suppiers web-sites already, even though I am not PLANNING on buying much in the way of new scents for spring-we just didn't do that well last year w/ spring/summer scents, folks just don't seem to burn as much around here at that time- I feel like a TRUE addict for sure-reading posts from you all, checking for sample pack availability, and I have no idea where to even begin, God knows I don't want to waste money, none of us do! Someone STOP me!!
  6. Well, Just to add to the list, Farmhouse has a new Chinese Apple, and since I now know that it IS Pomegranate ~ thank you!~ this may be another to try, it doesn't smell anything like BCN's Pmegrante that we had last year, it is more tart, and something else, worth trying out!
  7. Does anyone know if Pomegranate (sp?) is also known as Chinese Apple?
  8. Sweet Pea and Me- Mill Creek Raspberry Dream-Snow Top Both excellent throw in J223/ par/soy blend mix, CD wicks!
  9. We pour Witches Brew from C&S, I found it to be a good dupe of the one Yank** has out at Halloween. We call it Patchouli, and we sell out of it regularly. Folks around here love the Hippie scents! We definately had a hard time wicking it, we also found that if we color it too lightly, it discolors as it burns...if that makes sense. Basically, I find this oil to be a pain in the butt:rolleyes2 and have taken a break from it, but promised folks that we will pour it again in spring...plus, they can always get it in tarts from us! Thanks, Scented! I never knew what the blend of scents were that are in it!
  10. I am in a suburb of Phila. and may be interested...

  12. I agreee, this is a fabulous scent- definately smells like something totally yummy baking-you cannot go wrong, throws great in my 50/50!
  13. Yes, Carey, if you don't mind, let us know what she says... I know you will love this scent!
  14. I second Daystar's VBN, it is a lovely scent!! Clean, fresh, sweet vanilla, yum!
  15. C&S is also very close to me...I get my wax from them and have gotten oils from them. You always have to check your math when phoning in an order. I have had like 3 mistakes in total cost of an order, so you have to be careful. Also, one of the last times I went out to their showroom, they had a bunch of broken cases w/ jars for sale cheap-we found one case of jars that were all the same, except had like 2 missing, it actually had a paper taped to the side w/ the price of the case, it was dirt cheap! Away, it goes w/ us to the register, the guy ringing us out called Cindy on it, and she looked at us like we were nuts, expecting to get that item for such a price!! WE didn't put it there, someone who worked there did, and she wouldn't honor it. I kinda thought that wasn't right, you should be able to buy things for what they are marked at on the shelf, IMO. No apology either. She just wisked it away...oh well...
  16. For THIS season there are (and also in no particular order): Winter Candly Apple (BBW type) Chestnuts and Brown Sugar Snowy Pine Harvest Bayberry Spiced Mulberry
  17. I truly LOVE Farmhouse's version they carry (she advertises in the Suppliers forum here- this oil throws GREAT in my 50/50, it is a delicious scent-no cure needed @ 9%! HTH!
  18. Same here, we sold a lot of BCN's last year, and I like this one as much, has a great scent IMO, and throw, but we are selling very little of it, for some reason, too!
  19. Oh my Gosh, that is just too funny...I was melting a Holiday Rendezvous tart here at work, and TWO people said it reminded them of the incense they smell in church or something! To me it is a good scent for the powder room... From JS I like: Cinn. Cider (correction: LOVE this one!) Chestnuts and BS-wonderful! Nutty Spiced Vanilla- Haven't burned in a candle yet, but loved it in a tart so much, had to buy a lb.! Harvest-Awesome Blueberry Cheesecake-Wonderful! Cinn. Roll w/ Frosting-Also wonderful! Hearth and Home- wonderful throw, nice blend of pine, etc... there are more, can't put my finger on them all right now... I love dealing w/ Becky, trying out her scents are like Christmas morning, her shipping is awefully fast, her samples are soooo generous, her scent descriptions make me drool, only problem is, I can't afford to keep up w/ all her new scents and sales!!! Ike, I am sorry to hear that your expereinces w/ her and her co. have been bad...
  20. Blackberry Sage is good and strong, also Moonlight Path, Tuscan Night, Pink Sugar...all good stuff!!!!!!!
  21. We cut all of our jars and votive wicks to the proper burning length for the first burn, makes me feel a little better that MAYBE peeps will see that and get a half a CLUE....but maybe not...:undecided
  22. Member of the old board since the beginning of the year, using my real name now...
